Hello and Happy New Year everyone!

Tiger was very sweet and sent me an email letting me know there'd been some good news for the Aussie girls recently - so thrilled to hear about the BFPs - many congratulations Bel & Jomae!!! :D Good luck with your scans - I'm sure all will be fine.

Hope all the other ladies are doing well too - it looks like a busy couple of months ahead and I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for all of you.

Josiemack, so glad to hear you're getting through the last trimester OK. It's not much fun in this heat, is it!

I'm 34 weeks now and also just trying to stay cool and take things easy. I've realised how much I'd taken my mobility for granted - simple things like getting out of bed and walking up flights of stairs are major accomplishments for me at the moment! But I'm keeping pretty well and looking forward to next month. I'll let you know how it all goes.

Best wishes to all of you,
Deanne

Hey Deanne,

Lovely to hear from you, and lovely that Tiger sent you an e-mail to fill you in on the recent goss! Not long to go now before your bub enters the world..Do you have the nursery all set up now??. I also struggled in the heat during the end of my pregnancy with Annie, I used to go to the movies a lot, it was airconditioned and just so relaxing!!

Thanks again for your warm wishes, I'll post tomorrow to let people know how the scan goes..fingers crossed all will be OK

Angel - 6 is great - good luck for tomorrow - also to Bel for her scan - lots happening!!

Deanne - great to hear from you and that you are well - trying to stay cool is the bigest issue at the moment, and I am finding that I could sleep 18 hours a day if left to it - the kids are in Tassie, so am resting most of the time!

Missmolly - welcome back - I think you might need to satisfy us vicarious shoppers / travellers with a picture of your new shoes!!!

Take care

Hey Angel, great numbers!!, well done, you must be stoked..Good luck for embie transfer tomorrow. My only hint is to go to the toilet before hand (maybe a couple of time). I found I needed a few nervous wee's anyway, and then after tranfer I was too scared to go in case I peed out the embies (impossible to actually happen, but hey, we're not always rational during these times!!)

Hi All,

Bel, remember, you're not allowed toilet until you finish your scan ;). Good luck!

Jomae, have they given you a date for your scan yet?

Angel, 6 is a v.good number, well done!! I am sending you tons of baby dust on your way for ET tomorrow.

Deanne and Jo, I wish I could take some heat away from Melb and Syd for you both....

Take care. Tiger

Good luck for tomorrow Bel. I'm jealous too!!! (I fell off the wagon last night...was meant to be 'cleansing' to prepare for my next cycle, but have been a bit down....oh well. will start again this weekend!)

Angel - what a fantastic result! When does your clinic do the ET - at embryo or blastocyst stage? Good luck for the transfer.

Angel - 6 is a fantastic number! You should be very pleased.

I can't believe how fantastic everyone sounds on this thread! Us Aussies & Kiwi's are going so well - hopefully this year will bring luck & success to everyone.

I did not get a picture of Nicki Hilton, I just stood next to her like a stunned mullet. I could hardly speak (I get very star struck). I must admit (Ihope this does not sound too bitchy!), she has a wide bottom! It is not fat, but her bone structure is very wide around her hips and bottom - so nice to she that she is actually human.

Bel - I will take a picture of my shoes & attempt to post them for you over the next few days (I am not very good with scanning pic, but will give it a go). I got them from Saks Fifth Ave - they even had Manolo's for under $300. Shoes are so fantastic as they always look good! By the way, I weighed myself yesterday & have put on 3kgs  Not so bad though, as I lost 4kgs before we went away because I was sick!

I am so excited for you today Bel. I know your scan will go really well :D :D

Tiger - I bet you are looking forward to your next cycle. Do you think you will go back to Alice? I am not going to go this cycle & see how things go. I won't rule acu out for future cycles (hopefully this will be my last cycle).

Hey Girls

Tiger my scan date is the 24th of Jan which will make me 8 and a half weeks which I now seem to think is pretty lucky, my sister who is due just before me has to wait until her 13th week I couldn't stand it to wait that long.
Anyway goodluck again girls hope all goes well.

Hey guys,
Well I think it went well, not really sure though. The guy doing the scan was quite young and inexperienced. They started with an abdo scan, he could see a small gestatinal sac but asked if he could do a trans-vaginal scan for greater clarity (I mean after IVF this relaly didn't seem like a big deal for me!!), so of course I said yes. The transvaginal scan showed a five week 6 day embie with a little tiny heart beat, it was beating at 90bpm which I think is slow. The embie I lost (years ago) was first scanned at 58 bpm and that was way too slow. I said "that's slow isn't it", he said "well yes, but the heart has only been beating for a day or two, so we expect it to be slow", and dufus me didn't ask whether that speed at this stage is within normal limits or too slow. He said that a report would be sent to my doctor who may or may not recommend another scan in a couple of weeks..so more waiting for me. I would really like to feel positive about this, but I am quite nervous as well...

Bel Sweetie,

I am sorry that the scan didn't go as well as you'd hoped but you will have more precise info when you get the report back... until then pls take it easy. I hate it when docs don't say much when they are doing the scan too..... they should sing or something instead.

MissMolly, Miss Hilton with huge bottom, haha good one. Q about Alice. I am not sure, I will decide when I get home I think. Btw are you back at work now, do you have any more spooky stories for us?

Jomae, we can count down to your scan date together (I am really good at it!) today is 11th Jan, so another 13 sleeps to go! I really hope it will go super quickly for you.

Cheers, Tiger

Hi Girls
Bel your heart beat sounds good I found this thread page for you I could't find the exact rate for 5weeks 6days but it did say that for 6 weeks the normal range is 90 to 110 beats per minute take a look and hope it puts your mind at rest

congratulations

Jo you're a star..thank you so much..I can really understand why Marianne (IVF doctor) never scanned until at least seven weeks, is too scarey before then I reckon!
