Hi Jodic, no I'm not taking any classes. I had my IVF consultation today. That was a 3 hour consultation. Met with the fertility doc, the nurse, and the Embryologist who all explained various steps of the process. I also have a book on IVF and brochures & info sheets they gave to me. After all of this I'm still a little foggy. There's so much to learn!

Hi Smita! How are you and the baby doing? I needed a break after the m/c...don't know where the time went. Now I am ready (again) to start and will relax in India next week with some Ayurveda massages :D :D. It has been very cold in Europe and I am so looking forward to the warming sunshine (we are going to Mumbai and Kerala for 10 days).

Welcome to everyone! Don't worry about learning the 'IVF' stuff..believe me you learn it all quick enough :D

Hi all,

I think i will be joining in this thread, i will be doing a fet sometime in feb as long as transfer dosent fall on a monday because there would be no-one to get the frosties out the freezer over the weekend!

Its weird doing a unmedicated fet because i feel like i should be doing something eg.injections, although im not complaining. It just seems too easy!!!

Looks like there are loads of people cycling this month, good luck everyone

love

Would like to join this thread too as we'll be doing our 2nd IVF in Feb - downregging on 15 Jan. It certainly feels good to start doing something again after the cancellation in November. All that waiting around is hard, isn't it?!!

I'm getting very encouraged by all of you doing detoxes and getting in shape. Since I made my New Year's resolutions I've only been jogging once... but reading this I'm determined to go again this evening. I put off going yesterday as it was so cold and icy but I'm probably just looking for excuses!!

Hey Jodi,

Yes I know what you mean about being mad. I just heard on the news this morning about a couple beating their 5 year old to death because she started wetting the bed! I just don't get why God allows some people who dont look like they deserve children have them and the ones who are responsible good adults long to have children and cannot. My heart breaks everytime I see a child who was hurt or not wanted. But thats just one thing we'll never understand!

Do not be discouraged, be strong and courageous Jodi. We will be mothers one day! There is a reason for all of this I am sure. Just don't know what that is yet!
Well I cant wait to follow your IVF Jodi thru the shots and then ER, and then ET then the dreaded 2WW! All the way up to your test date! Makes me feel like I am going thru it all again too!!

Hi Eminde! Looks like we have a couple of things in common...I am an Ami living in Munich and will also start my 2.IVF end of Jan. I know what you mean about jogging...it has been really cold and icy here. I have been doing a lot of walking and plan to workout tomorrow.

Just picked up my Synarela today. Yippeee...it is all happening!!!

Hi Guys,

So many new people on here since I last logged on!! I'm back up at my clinic on Thursday to do all the legal stuff for the FET and then the dreaded 'dummy ET'...oh joy! But if it works when I come to do it for real I don't care.

Sue, looks like you and me will be going through an unmedicated FET together. I know what you mean about not having to take anything, it almost feels like I should be! Not that I'm complaining, I feel much more relaxed about this, which has to be a good thing.

Hi All!! Jodic - the IVF 'bible' is a book by Zita West called 'fertility and conception'. During my first cycle someone on this site referred me to the book...very easy to read but informative.

Hello Ladies!

I've got good news and bad news. I have gotten on the treadmill and am getting back in shape for next IVF, but I finally got the dreaded fsh back from lab and it is 12.2 :( I know it could be worse and I did get 8 good eggs from last cycle. Will be glad if next cycle is as good.

I'm seeing a new acupunturist on Thur and very excited. I think she is a bit more intense then current acupunturist and can't hurt to get a second opinion.

Hey Michelle we have the same cycle! I start BCP in Feb also.

Wannabmum, I'm so excited to have a fellow Californian to cycle with. It's my second IVF cycle as well and I got my BFN just a couple days before you got yours. How are you managing? I find it still stings a bit. But, I'm really trying to take everything I learned from that cycle. - Let's just say ICSI a thousand times - and use it to help this one. I'm also wondering if I laid around a bit too much during 2ww...

Souris, sounds like you have alot of pressure on you for this cycle. What are you doing to help with stress? I'll be praying for you and we'll all celebrate with Christmas babies next year.

Hey MLG, I hope you get to cycle with us. You've been such great support in the past. Am I remembering correctily that you're a fellow poor-reponder? (If so, it's all about quality right?) I hear you about starting the exercise and not quite the dieting. I figure doing one now is enough change. I can't quite give up chocolate yet! Any particular reason your clinic recommend you wait so many months?

Traci - I hear you about approaching it a bit different for round 2. I have trouble not talking when I'm excited. I work in a small area and everyone at work seems to know about my 4 mc's and I was out month with the ruptured ectopic in Oct. People seem so concerned when they ask and I can't keep my big mouth shut! I'm really hoping round 2 gives good news to share - finally! I was wondering how your acupuncturist approaches your treatment. I've always thought Germany was miles ahead of US in that.

Allison - I also had my R tube removed. Good luck keeping stress down for cycle 2. That's my main goal also.

fulloffaith - thanks for your inspiration. I get mad when I hear about abuse also. I work in a hospital and there is no way to explain the lives some of these children are born into.

Eminde - I'm so sorry you had to go through a cancelled cycle. We almost had to cancel last cycle and then eggs fertilized at last minute. I hope this cycle goes smoothly you're blessed with BFP! I know exactly what you mean about waiting. I need to feel like I'm doing something positive. Good luck with your snow jogging!

Jodic - I second Traci's rec for Zita West's book. I finally bought it and it is a wonderfully easy and informative read.

Sue and Kate - Good luck with your FET's. It worked for my friend after 2 failed fresh IVFs.

Ok - I've written a small book, but I haven't been on forever and needed to catch up.
I know there's more people and I look forward to a great cycle with you all. Much love to everyone!

Hi Jodic, the book I'm reading is called "In Vitro Fertilization The A.R.T. of Making Babies" by Sher, Davis, and Stoess. It's pretty good and in depth. Not too expensive either, just $16.96.

I guess it's not the process that's hard to figure out, but really the timing of the whole process. I guess the clinic will walk me through it all when things get rolling. I'll probably be starting my BCP's around Jan 23 or 24. Do most take a whole month's worth of pills or just a couple weeks worth?

Daly, that's exciting. Looks like we'll be cycling close together! Anyone else start their BCP's at the end of Jan/early Feb?
