Daly - If you got 8 good eggs from your last cycle, thats great, your fsh shouldnt make much of a difference this time round. I got 8 eggs and my fsh was 6.2, at our clinic they say they aim for 8 as its and ideal number. Also i no a friend who had fsh regularly up into the 20's, she had several iui's and has now got her little boy. You will be fine.

Jodic - I have 3 embroyos. I am looking forward to getting them on board but scared of going through a biochem again. I remember being like you, trying to read up on everything, in the end i was getting wound up worrying about the many things. So i actually gave my book away and just tried to go with the flow. Once you start it is easier than you think although a very emotional journey. the hardest part for me was the first injection, i couldnt get the air bubbles out. I did rely on this site so much.

tracii - Keeping everything crossed that this is the cycle for you. Not long now.

Kate - Im glad that there is someone else doing a fet at the same time. will you be taking progesterone after et? I have asked to have it, as last time we were given it only up until our BFP and then 3 days later i started bleeding, which ended up a biochem but initially my numbers were quite high at 2000. How many frosties have you got? How many ivf cycles have you done? Hope your dummy et goes well.

Souris - Wishing you all the best

Eminde - Not long now, good luck

shellbell - it good that you have found this site, i am sure you will learn loads here.

sorry if i have missed anyone, got to rush i should of left for school

take care love

Atleast it woke me up. Went to acu last night and setup the remainder of my appointments :D She said I still had a little cold running through my blood but that I was ready to go. :D

Hi Sue,

Have had one IVF tmt last Oct and managed to get 5 frosties all grade 1 so thats certainly something good. They did say that would give me progesterone after the ET although a lower dose than when I did the IVF cycle. Am off to the clinic tomorrow so hopefully they will give me my dates and then its all systems go - getting pretty excited about it know, much more relaxed than last time. How about you, have you got many frosties? Got your dates of when you will have your ET?

Hi, Ladies,

I am so glade to have found this site. You guys have been great. After learning my BFN last week. I am still coping with it. Lots of anxiety still. During the IVF process, everything seemed to have gone really well. Initially, my RE thought I was going to be resistent to the meds (my FSH level was 9.99, just barely under the cutoff line). Somehows, I was able to manage to produce 6 follies. Five were retrieved and 3 were fertilized - an average statistics....
The 3 embies were fairly high in quality. Not sure why my body did not take.... still a puzzle. maybe I was too stress out about the whoe IVF process then....

Sue e, I am with you about the second IVF. I am going to relax and enjoy this ride. Not to be too worry or stress about it... hopefully the second time around is a charm! Put away all the books and all....

Daly, I am so happy to have a cycle buddy in So. Cali. I'll probably start with my BCP in early Feb or whenever my next AF will be... It's due in early FEb, but now I am not so sure though since the meds sort of screw up my system. Hopefull my AF will be regular...

Hello everyone!

Sue - thankyou so much for your words of encouragement. I was fairly shaken after hearing my fsh was so high. I really needed to hear some hopefull news. How old was your friend with the fsh in the 20's who has a baby?

Tracii - I'll try to send some Californian sunshine to your area!!

Wannabemum - I am also wondering why my embies didn't stick. (4 good quality) All I can think is that they were fertilized too late with rescue ICSI. They didn't fertilize on day one and were ICSI'd at 16 hours of life. A bit late to put it subtly. But 50% grew to 8 celled embies. I really laid around, it being Christmas holiday and all. I've been reading that a little more activity after 3 days may help with implantaiton. Here's to a very successfull 2nd IVF! I'm trying to view the first as a bit of a practise round. (a very expensive practise round!)

Kate21 - sounds like you have great little frosties waiting for you!! What a good cycle to get so many grade 1 embies to freeze. I bet your FET will go wonderfullly.

Hey NickiMark - what are your plans now? I know you've been really studying up to get in great shape for your next round. Did you manage to incorporate some orange in your house? (not my favorite color either!)

Shellbell - My clinic has most pt's take a whole months worth of BCP. Also, I've heard good sun exposure helps success of IVF and most successfull cycles occur in June. Heres hoping our California sun will do some good rather than just skin cancer scare!!

I've been back to Yoga and managed to get on the nasty treadmill - thank God for TV. I wouldn't make it 5 min without a show to watch!

Babydust to everyone!!
TTC 4 yr

2nd IVF - BFP - dd died 5 wk old in mommy's arms
4th IVF - BFP!! TWINS!!!

NickiMark,
Hugs back to you xx. I'm trying to stay positive, otherwise, I think I might be crushed and die- a little too dramatice, probably due to all the hormones in my system. I am driving my DH crazy, right now. Are you trying an IVF or IUI next?

Daly,
Indeed, it was an expensive practice run! I, too, laid around during my 2ww. Normally, I pretty active so during the 2ww, it was a killer for me because I didn't do much except laid around the house. I think for my next IVF, after the initial 2-3 days rest, I am going to resume to my normal activities. Besides, it will put my mind somewhere else instead of obsessing with whether or not the embryos will stick - driving my DH insane!! My friend got pregnant with 2nd IVF. She said that for her 2nd IVF, she just keeps herself occupied with activities she enjoys. Cheers to the 2nd time around!!!! :D :D :D
Since my FSH level was on the borderline as well. I forgot to ask my RE during our last consulation. However, my nurse told me that I won't be tested for the FSH level for the following IVF. She said that it was just an initial screening. Not sure if it's true.. I would imagine my level of FSH is probably going to be high for the next round. During my last consulation, my RE said that he is optimistic and then he changed it to cautiously optimistic. I hope the FSH level would not be an factor for the sebsequent IVF.

Traci,
Hope you'll have a better day tomorrow !

Sue e,
Good luck for your FET. Not sure how it works since I did not have any leftover embbies to be frozen.

I am going to have a blood test tomorrow to see whether I have a clotting issue. My RE did not think so but he wants a test to rule it out.

Hi All:

My wife and I are finishing up the last round of screening with her HSG ultrasound next friday. We will officially start the protocol in February with the Birth Control Pills.

Anyone else on the Luteal Lupron Protocol? How soon after the birth control pills do we start the fertility medicines, and how soon after that before EC?

Brian - welcome to you and your DW. It must be so exciting for you both now that you can actually start this journey and feel that you're doing something positive. Good luck.

jodic and Shellbell - all the best to you for your 1st IVF cycles

Jen, LisaY, Wannabmum, Tracii, Allison - seems like a lot of us will be on our 2nd IVF cycles so here's hoping. Tracii, am with you on starting the new Syranela spray. Am not taking any risks either. Also understand what you mean about the 2nd time round and telling people. I was so excited and had to talk about it. I will be more selective this time I think! Wannabmum - sorry about your recent BFN. Keep your chin up.

Souris - am really hoping for you that this time will be the one.

Nicki, MLG - hope you don't have to wait too long for tmt. It can be the hardest part.

Kate, Claire, donna99, sue e - good luck for your FETs

Jend - not long for you now

Daly - sorry about your BPN in December. But you sound like you're getting a positive spirit back - that's such an inspriration for us all.

Diane C, Pauline, bella, berta - wishing you ladies all the best this time round.

Sorry if I've missed anyone - good luck to you all.

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been off the boards recently, I'm apprehensive about my next cycle although trying to stay positive. I've been on the website though most days just catching up with you all.

I'm off work from 30th Jan - 31st March. Spoke to my senior manager yesterday and he was very supportive (he & his wife had IVF & now have twins).

AF arrived yesterday so off to the hospital tomorrow for bloodwork to test FSH levels and start downregging on 31st Jan. Due to hospital moving to a new building I'll be downregging for a bit longer so it looks like EC will be 13th March with ET 15th March.

I've updated me on the list.

Bertie: FsH tests late Jan / early Feb
Bella: IVF Feb with new clinic. Detoxing!!
Jen: Cycle end Feb
Pauline: downreg from 31st Jan.
Daly: down regging Feb, puck up and transfer March
Allison: FET March
JenD: Starting treatment end of Jan
Tracii: Egg pick up around 12th of Feb
Di C: Treatment in US, embie transfer 15th of March
Claire: Cycle Feb, awaiting af
Kate: Cycle end Jan / early Feb

Lots of luck everyone.

Hi everyone

We are to start birth control pills tonight so looks like we are on our way :).

Hopefully this time around will bring some success (7th attempt). I am so excited this time around as we managed to get pregnant last time, sadly followed by a miscarriage. But it gives us hope as we know that we can at least achieve a pregnancy whereas before the pregnancy I guess we always half expected a negative result, which results in much stress and wonder about why we bothered.

Best of luck to everyone this attempt.

Hi All :D

Daly - please send some warmth this way! Last night it was -18celcius!! I also agree with Sue regarding your FSH...I wouldn't worry about it. :D

Wannabamum - My clinic doesn't check bloods before starting either..strange. I just phone them up and tell them I started with downregging.

Brian_Maxwell - You will find that everyone's protocol is different (everyone responds differently). I am doing Synarela for downregging and Puregon for stimming (no BCPs) with Utrogest after transfer for progesterone support. Just take one day at a time :D

Eminde - It is very hard for me not to tell people..somehow I feel I need to explain myself (i.e. mood swings). We are not even telling MIL and FIL. DH may be travelling during time of EC (we planned it so he is not but you never know how the body will react)..but because we are not telling anyone - I will have to take a taxi home...let's jsut hope everything goes to plan.

Welcome back Pauline!! You are so lucky to have a supportive manager. After my first IVF I actually quite my job...too much stress and in a very male-dominated company.

Jodic - I have heard they use AH for eggs with a 'hard' shell...I am sure it would help because it is one step closer in the pregnancy puzzle. Some woman's blastos start hatching themselves prior to ET.

Di - This will be our lucky turn!!

So looks like I will start DRing one day earlier (I ovulated today and my doc likes to start DRing 7 days after ovulation). YIPPEEE!!! Yesterday I suffered from incredible backpains and they are still with me today. Not sure what I did but I haven't had back problems since I was on an incredibly stressful project. :? :?

I have updated the list with my new info. Are we missing anyone??

Bertie: FsH tests late Jan / early Feb
Bella: IVF Feb with new clinic. Detoxing!!
Jen: Cycle end Feb
Pauline: downreg from 31st Jan.
Daly: down regging Feb, puck up and transfer March
Allison: FET March

Really hope things run to schedule for you Tracii as I can imagine it'll be fairly tough if your DH can't be there for EC. Hope your back gets better - all this chilly weather probably doesn't help much!

Cycle Buddy

Post by Holliebear »

Hi all.

I'm looking for a cycle buddy. I started my pills this weekend and will start my Lupron next week. If my calculations are correct, I should be doing my retrieval/transfer around Valentine's Day. I'd love to chat with some people who are in the same boat as me, to make the time go by faster. If you're interested, give me a shout.

Thanks and positive thoughts to all!!!

Stephanie
