Hope you are all well. I'm scared to ask Anna, but just wondered??? Rachel, all my thoughts are with you. I'm sure all your embies are snuggled up nicely. Went back to work today, and I'm absolutley shattered. Still, it was lovely to catch up with all the kids again.

Af arrived yesterday! It was day 62, a world record! We have an appointment tomorrow and hope to start short cycle meds on Thursday. Fingers crossed that bloods are Ok and there are no cysts around. I am happy, excited, nervous and apprehensive all at the same time

Anyway I will be starting meds for short cycle on fri 13th! However not without having a cyst drain first! I really couldn't believe what the dr was saying. She found 2 cysts and wanted me to wait for next AF to start tmt. That went down like a led balloon and i'm sorry to say that I completely lost my temper
Dr looked back at my record , all the cancelled cycles, previous cyst drain etc...changed her mind and organised drain for Fri!! Hurray, pity I had to get mad for something to be sorted though
Have just calmed down and off to have dinner with my darling partner in crime! He's great, let's me rant and rave then asks me what I want to eat!
Now just have to think of an excuse to be off work on Fri. It is a big day with me interviewing all day.. but that will have to wait!

anna, great news that AF has arrived and you're starting on friday. you must be so relieved to finally get the ball rolling. sorry to hear about those evil cysts but once drained there should be no stopping you. jen is right, the short cycle is definitely so much better and it really does produce results.
well done on dealing with your doc as well! i'm a firm believer, when needs be, in taking a firm approach with them. sometimes they just need to be pushed. good luck on friday!

jen, how are you? not too long now until your consultants appointment. i guess i'll be joining you over on the pheonixes thread. i was so hoping to avoid it but alas.
yesterday was a bad day for me. i think tuesday i was still in shock so i was numb. yesterday i felt worse and AF also arrived so physically i also felt pretty low. then to top it all off today i find i've no job to go back to. nothing like being kicked when you're down.
i left my real job just before starting this cycle because it was an incredibly stressful and emotionally charged job dealing with teenage victims of abuse who for the most part were not very cooperative so i just couldn't handle everything. didn't have the strength for that and ivf, and having a baby was most definitely my priority. an ex colleague then offered me a job starting january but my doc advised me not to start until after my 2ww. my ex colleague was very understanding (didn't tell her why) but when i ring today to confirm as planned that i'd start on monday she says she's hired someone else!! i really just don't understand how some people operate.
so that's me. i think i definitely qualify to be a pheonix rising from the flames of failed ivf and job. what is that expression, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger?????
sorry for going on, i just need to vent a bit.

I know it's hard when your low and don't have a job to focus on. But after what you have been through maybe you need time out. To focus on you for a while longer. A job will come when you are ready...your skills will always be needed. rest up and take some time to care for you before you start caring for others

anna, i am so so sorry. i know you must feel devastated but please dont give up. last time you were able to start cycling but unfortunately it wasn't the right protocol. now the docs know what to do, it's only a question of time before it all comes together. i know that means more waiting and you've already done far too much of that but it will be worth it in the end.
have you ever tried acupunture? it supposedly helps balance hormone levels but i don't know if it has any effect on cysts. just a thought.
please don't give up hope, i know things seem bleak now but you will get there, i'm sure of it.

I am so bloated!!! Yes I think I have bowling balls in there and not follies.
I go for a scan in the morning to see how they are growing. It feels like they are sure growing great!!
OMG.. So I have 2 sisters... 28years old and 41. The older thought she was going thru menopause and the 28 year old is fanatical about getting pregnant. (She is trying every month naturally) Both know what I'm doing and are very supportive We are very close.
Can you belive it??? My older sister called me today to tell me SHE is Pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!! What?? I thought she was kidding.
They have been trying for 5 yrs. She has 2 boys- 5 and 7 and she wanted a girl so she was making plans to adopt.
Is this divine intervention or what??

I have an appointment on 24th to discuss next step. Really don't know what they will say. Our infertility is unexplained, so frustrating. We don't know what's broke so we don't know what to fix! I will try a short protocol to see if that works. The cysts seem to keep reappearing and messing everything up. Don't know if I had them before or if they are part of reaction to meds??
If short protocol doesn't work then I don't know what we will do next. Am too old to adopt in this country and donor eggs are hard to come by. Watch this space. Am trying to keep positive
