Well Pauline,

You are better off than me! It's only 9:00AM here for me on Friday!! I have all day to go!!

Update for me: I have a call into my clinic to see about getting an example calendar so we can try and figure out when we will decide to start FET. We have vacations and anniversary coming up, I just want to start at the best time and not be traveling and doing FET at the same time! My Dr. said it's not as many Dr. visits so that's good! Hopefully I'll know soon an exact date of when we will start - I am getting excited just thinking about it. Still keep me down for March - I think that's when it will be.

Have a great weekend ladies!!

Hi Jodic,

Thanks for responding. Looks like your about a week ahead of me. Good luck to you. How many cycles have you done? This will be our third. We have a dd that is 4 years old, who was conceived through IVF/ICSI. So, we have proof that it works. We have done this twice since her, with no luck. We're hoping that the 3rd time is the charm.

I'd like to be added to the list too, if at all possible. How does that work?

Thanks so much for replying!

Pauline,

Thank you so much. I truly appreciate it. Have a quick question. Has anyone ever heard of cervical dilation? My doctor is doing that on Monday and I'm hopeful that this will help. Any thoughts?

Thanks again!!!

Hi Ladies, I have a very embarrassing question, but one I'm a little worried about. My RE has prescribed my DH and I a Z-Pack of antibiotics, but EVERY TIME I take antibiotics (it never fails ) I end up with a yeast infection! Will this affect my chances of conceiving in any way???? Any one else have this issue in the past?

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'm counting down the hours at work too, my day is almost half over!

I've added myself to the end of the list below...

Michelle (Shellbell) :D

Jodic,

I'm not very high tech either, and I'm trying to get back into the swing of the acronyms, but it's taking a while. Congratulations for finding the love of your life. It's comforting to know that you have a best friend to experience all of this with you. My husband has been fabulous through it all, and I'm so thankful for that. I used to not log onto these bulletin boards, b/c I just thought it would stress me out even more, but I'm trying to take a different approach. I have my cervical dilation on Monday and then a mock transfer on Tuesday. Should start Lupron next week some time. What "cocktail" are you taking, instead of Lupron. I'm just ready to be pregnant.

+++++ thoughts!!!

stephanie, im glad you changed your mind about these forums, they have been very helpful to me, and its so nice having friends go through all of this together, my bf never had any children and so we dont connect in that way, know what i mean? i am taking, luveris, ganirelix, follistim, which ive never heard of any of these meds so anyone out there that has insite will be nice. i also have to take lovenox, 2 shots a day cause i have a p/e (clot in my lung due to my reversal) im not having a mock transfer because my dr doesnt think i need it, but next fri im having die and oil put in me uterus, which ive never done b4 she said i have to take a antibiotic and 2 tylenol and eat a big b-fast because it might make me faint!!!!! have you ever heard of that b-4? is that like what ur doing w/ cervical dilation? do you have frosties? how many? where are you from ttus

Jodic,

I haven't ever heard of those meds either, but we just have to have faith in our doctors. Sometimes that can be hard.

I had the dye put in my tubes to check for blockage before. I was told to take some motrin beforehand, b/c there may be slight cramping. I thought I could be tough and just handle it. The procedure was so painful. Then, right afterwards, we were going over the procedure results and I became light headed and the cramps were unbearable. So, I highly recommend doing whatever they tell you. That was a huge mistake on my part.

They are doing a cervical dilation this time, b/c the last time I had my transfer, the doctor had so much trouble. I already have to go through the transfer with a full bladder (so not fun), but apparently, the canal is just really narrow, so he is going to dilate the cervix and open it up a bit. That should make the transfer go a little easier for all of us...

I do have 2 frozen embies. When we did IVF years ago, we lived in Houston. Our doctor did a 3 day transfer and froze the rest. The cycle didn't work, so we put 3 back in on the next cycle, and got prego with a singleton. They were able to freeze the last two. We have since moved to the Dallas area, and have seen 3 re's, and they have all suggested that we not bother with shipping and thawing of the last two, b/c they are of such poor quality. I'm having a hard time dealing with this one...

Also, the doctor that we saw in Houston did a 3 day transfer. Froze the others. I have had two IVF's since then, and this doctor has done 5 day transfers and not freezing any thing. We finally had to put our foot down and say, please do a 3 day transfer, we have proof that it works. He agreed. I'm hoping that the combination of the 3 day transfer and the cervical dilation will contribute to a BFP!!!

OMG i feel so bad for you, youve been through sooooo much. why do they think its not working yet? they must have some idea of why your not able to carry the babies? so are you going to go threw the proscess of ER again, or how does that work? i can only imagine how hard it would be knowing you have life sitting there frozen in time, im gonna have a hard time with that as well. what if i do get a bfp on 1st try what will i do with the others? i think about that alot. i am a christian and i believe life is life its a gift from God so how do you deal with the ones that were not chosen? i hope this doesnt upset you i would like to know what to do about this, maybe there is another way for me to think about it.
oh and now im really scared about next week thanks alot lol just kidding. im actually glad you said that cuz its alot easier for me to deal with something that i know is coming.....i hate surprises
good luck on monday and tues let us know how it went
how long were you in pain from the dye? ttus

Well, my dh has a low sperm count, but that really shouldn't matter. Just makes us great candidates for ICSI, which is what we do. This doctor was stumped after the second tranfer didn't take last year. We had a consultation with him a few weeks ago, and he said I respond well to all the meds, so that's why he is agreeing to the 3 day transfer and wants to try the cervical dilation.

I'm sorry, I don't know what ER is. I'm still trying to refresh my memory with all of these acronyms.

I agree about the frozen embryos. It's been a hard decision to deal with. We've thought about donating, but I truly thing that's something that we would have to work through. I don't mind talking about it, b/c I agree with you. Lives are precious gifts from God. It's a struggle...

You'll be fine next week. I've talked to some people who it didn't even phase them, so it may not be a big deal at all. I apologize for scaring you though. Totally didn't mean to do that. Oh, I was only in pain for a few hours. I just went home and rested for the rest of the day. I was fine after that. But everyone is different.

I wish you nothing but the best. Keep me informed on your progress.

Stephanie
