Hello- Here is my story!

Post by Shellw »

Hi my name is Shelley. I am 36 and my DH is 40. We live in Dallas. I have Endometriosis and was diagnosed in 1998 at age 18. I have had at least 5 Laps. I am not sure what stage I have. Really my only pain from it is during intercourse. I had a cervix cancer scare and had a cold knife surgery which left me about a half of cervix. I did Depo Lurpron and other menopausal drugs trying to preserve me before I met my husband. I was taking Depro Vera shot birth control when I met him. They say it takes one year to conceive after you get off it. Some how I ended up pregnant about 9 months after I started it. I have a beautiful daughter who I conceived naturally and will be 2 in February. I had to have a cerclage during my pregnancy because of my lack of cervix. I had an emergency c-section. So soon after my delivery the old Endo kicked back in. I thought well I am due for usual every 2 year Lap. This time it turned out I had Adhesions not Endo. The Adhesions were from all of my previous surgery and scar tissue built up. We started trying for our 2nd child, December of 2004. About 6 months into it with no luck my Gyn told me to go to a Fertility Specialist. He said I had Secondary Infertility with Endo not helping anything. So we started our first round of Clomid and IUI with no results. Repeated it with no results. Then did Follistem and IUI with no results. And repeated it with no results. What bother me most is everything is always perfect on paper! So December 2005 we decided to move to IVF. My retrieval should be January 19. Currently I have 9 follicles at various sizes. They are going to increase my Gonel now. I am also taking Lupron and Repronex. I was told I could only do a single transfer since my cervix can't hold twins and I can't risk doing a multiple transfer. I agree, but would have liked to have taken the chance on only 1 baby being produced. So here we go with another month of wondering if this round worked or not! Anyone have similar issues. Endo, cervix, age, adhesions, secondary infertility.

Hi Shelley,

After all the trouble and heartache that you have been through, I know your miracle is right around the corner. Keep thinking positive.
