Michelle,
I got a yeast infection during my IVF last time and I called Dr and they told me to take over the counter meds. So I did and they said it was fine - wouldn't hurt anything. So if you do get one, you should be fine buying OTC med to get rid of it.

Stephanie,

I too had a horrible HSG. That test sucked so bad - when it was over my blood pressure dropped, I turned white from the pain and actually had to go into a recovery room b/c they were trying to get me normal again. I was so afraid ET would be like that but I could barely feel that so that was good.

Jodi,
the only med I heard from your list is Follistim. Thats what I used - started me off at 300, 225, 225 and then that 4th day my E2 was at 450. So it worked very well for me - had lots of big follies that were produced.

DH surprised the heck outta me today and got us tickets to a super-duper uber chick flick so that's what we are doing tonight! On a diet though so I can't eat anymore popcorn or M&M's!!

Y'all have a great weekend!!!

never mind, figured out what er was. BIG FAT DUH!!! Yes, we're going through everything again until it works. It's worked before, so it has to work again. Just has to! I'm thanking God every night for the miracle that he is about to bless me with. That's the only way I can get through this, is by thinking positive...

Wow, You miss alot with just a day of no internet!

Welcome to the new buddies.

Stephanie- good luck with cervical dilation. Sounds like you have the same attitude I do. As long as I have a uterus, I'm trying!! You have a great history of a successfull FET and that is wonderful prognosis for your next IVF.

Michelle - I heard the same advise Allison said. OTC is safe. Might check with RE to be safe. Good luck. Yeast infections can be miserable.

Allison - hope you enjoyed fresh carrots that taste remarkably like chocolate for your movie. I can't give up a little treat daily. Good for you for staying healthy.

Pauline - thank you for keeping are growing list up to date. We'll be downregging together at end of Jan. Assuming my ever regular AF cont to be regular!

Jodic - follistim is FSH and that's what I'm taking too. I think it a great stim med. Ganirelix is the same as Antagon. It's an alternative to Lurpon that many people are given to inhibit ovulation from occuring. My RE gave me Ganirelix also because I'm a poor responder and it is less inhibitory than Lupron protocols. Good luck with this new language!!

Tracii - I think I sent to much sun. Our forcast is rain this week-end. Ofcourse that is good news for the ski slopes...I really hope your dh is there during ET. I don't like thinking of you riding home alone in a cab. But, either way, I'm sure you'll do great and I know the embies will be happy however you make it home.

Wannabemum - Your RE sounds like mine did yesterday. They have to be so cautious. But, I did get him to say he thinks we will have success with repeated attempts at IVF. It's like music to your ears!! He is also willing to put back a large number of embies given my poor history of miscarriage. He's aggressive and I like that very much. (We are fortunate ot live in US where they still allow that!!) Looks like we'll both be holding our breath for AF to arrive in 3 weeks. Then it's back on the rollercoaster ride. Ofcourse that's assuming we ever really got off...

Diane C - WOW 7th attempt. My doc also says prior pregnancy, even mc, are good prognosis. I've always thought 7 was a very lucky number. You must have some wise words of what you have learned. Please share any advice!!

Pauline - congrats on getting off work. That is fabulous!

Eminde - thank you for your kind words. I hope your downregging goes smoothly.

Now I'm getting dizzy trying to keep all names straight!! Big hello to everyone else and I'll send prayers to the downregging fairie and to the follie-fairy to get her off her arse to be ready to give us great eggs. (us poor reponders are a bit bitter with her!)

Yeah, I keep teasing my DH about having twins, because he is a twin (he is an identical). He says no way! :P I know he would be happy with whatever we are given.

I'll either be taking Follistim or Gonal-F. They'll tell me which one when it's closer.

Bertie: FsH tests late Jan / early Feb
Bella: IVF Feb with new clinic. Detoxing!!
Jen: Cycle end Feb
Pauline: downreg from 31st Jan.
Daly: down regging Feb, puck up and transfer March
Allison: FET March
JenD: Starting treatment end of Jan
Tracii: Dring 20.Jan, EC around 12th of Feb
Di C: Treatment in US, embie transfer 15th of March
Claire: Cycle Feb, awaiting af
Kate: Cycle end Jan / early Feb
Eminde: downreg from 15 Jan
Jodic: on bcp then ER 2-7 ET 2-10
Holliebear: on bcp then ER/ET around 14th Feb
Shellbell: Start BCP around 1/23
Donna99: Waiting for af then FET
Suee: Waiting for af then FET

I cant believe i have not been on for a day and there has been so much happening, sorry that i cant keep up with everyone.

Kate21 - I have got 3 frosties, day 2. I havent got a date to do fet, i will have to phone on day 1 and see if they can accept me for feb and then when i ovulate again i have to ring them to see if it is possible, so for me i wont know till the very last minute, which is the annoying part. If ovulation falls on a thurday it is a no go in our hospital, so then it may be march fet. have you got your date yet? or will you not no till af starts?

wannabmum: Hoping that 2nd time is the charm for you. Im sure you being a lot more relaxed about the whole thing can only help.

Daly - My friend who had the high fsh was in early 40's. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to seeing that BFP.

Eminde - Only one more day before your off the starting block, good luck with the DR.

Lynne - I think at the womens they let us DR longer, i ended up DR for 2 months because when i did have to go in for the scan i hadnt DR enough, so i then had to carry on for another week and still not good enough and then they finally gave me tablets to take for a week and then once af arrived i had dr enough. Hopefully though when you next go you will be fine and then you can stimm and that when it gets exciting. Wishing you all the best, hoping its a BFP for LWH.

GOOD LUCK everyone, wishing you all a bfp

love

Hi Guys!!

can't believe I haven't been on here for 2 days and look at the amount of stuff I've missed!!

Sue - I have to phone the clinic when AF arrives and then have a scan on day 10 to check folli size and lining and then check ovulation from day 11 onwards. If all goes well then ET should be around the end of the month and then testing around the middle of Feb. keep your fingers crossed!

Stephanie - they had trouble with me last time doing the ET and so I had to have a dummy ET last week. Amazingly, it went perfect, no problems at all. My DH seems to think it was the DR who had the problem and not me!! I did feel much more comfortable with the DR that I saw last week, so hopefully he will be the one that does the Et this time around. Good luck with your cervical dilation - I'm sure it will make all the difference this time around!

Good luck to everyone else who is DR - hope the side effects aren't too bad!

Hello All

I have been away for a while, just getting my head together after last year's disappointment. So glad it's 2006! Time to wipe the slate clean and think lots of positive thoughts about how this WILL be our year for good news!

DH and I have decided we're going to try IUI with meds in Feb/March. We've got our follow up consultation with the doc on 31 Jan and then it'll be a case of waiting until the next AF to start treatment we hope.

We've decided to try IUI before another IVF to give me a little bit of a break from the more invasive procedures... you just never know!!!

Glad to see that there have been a few 'natural' miracles on this site. It gives you hope.

Sending you all lots of positive vibes and baby dust. It's going to be a GREAT YEAR!!

Hi everyone

Yes Daly, 7 attempts is very persistant :D We have learnt a lot over the last three years. We also have the added extra in that we reside in Australia and travel to America for treatment, which adds to the expense. We are not covered by health insurance whislt completing treatment in America however can claim a certain amount as a tax deduction here in Australia. So we must be very motivated to keep continuing :D.

IVF is a very personal road and everyone has their own motivation as to why they persist. We made a decision to persue egg donor treatment as I am now 43 and the chances of falling pregnant with my own eggs are extremely slim and even if I did succeed, I would have almost a 50% chance of miscarry. For us, that road was really not satisfactory, cost and benefit analysis does not pan out. So, for us realistically egg donor is the go. At the end of the day, what we want is to raise a child together.

I guess we will stay motivated until we run out of money as that seems to be a factor that most of us run into at some stage.

I agree that the working factor plays a role in stress levels. I have completed cycles when I was working and found it more difficult. I remember getting my pregnancy test results whilst at work during our first cycle and had to leave the office very distressed. On top of the result I also wondered what my collegues thought of my exit. I never allowed that situation to develop again just added to my stress. In saying that I acknowledge that some people have no choice but to work and for those people, you have my sympathy. It is best to take some time off if you can especially during the second week of the dredded two week wait.

Good luck to everyone attempting a cycle this time round. Try and keep positive and try and reduce your stress levels as best you can, that is my advice for keeping sane.

Cheers Di

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We relaxed and did some very long walks in the woods with the dogs. It is super, super cold here. My backache is finally gone and now DH has the same issue...does anyone know if a bug can impact your back?

We are off to India on Thursday and Friday I start Synarela!!! So I will be nice and warm and will have some nice Ayruveda massages to help me relax. We get back 30 January and I expect AF around 28.Jan so around 2.Feb I should be going in for my baseline. This time around I am on double dosage of Synarela...last time my LH was under pressure to surge and I ovulated early (also poor quality and quantity due to high LH). I am feeling good this time we can control the LH and make lots of healthy follies/eggs!!!

I am curious..anyone else doing acu? I have been going since my the first neg IVF and was wondering what you appointment schedule looks like during the IVF cycle. I am going 1. per week and the day after ET. I told my doc I was hoping for twins and she said "geez you are putting a lot of pressure on me." But of course we will be happy with a singleton :D :D

I wish everyone a great Monday to kick start the week!!
