Afternoon phoenixes how are we all this weekend?

I've been a busy lady this morning - out jogging, got the food shopping done, caught up with a couple of friends  but now off to do boring housework. Image I haven't done any for ages cos was away last weekend.

Gail, how's your cat?? Quite right in shouting at your idiot of a neighbour - I would have done that too. Hey, re: tummy issues - how about a tankini for hols?? I don't have the flatest stomach in the world and so always go for one - you can get nice halterneck ones too.

MLG I can so sympathise on the work thing. I've been really stressed out over the last month or so at work - not really what the doctor ordered right now - as its been unbelievably busy. Seem to get late home every night and like you have had to bring work home with me. Did that last weekend and should really be doing some this weekend too - but I can't be bothered!!!

Hope every one else is ok too. Look forward to chatting with you.

Jen. I know your not back til Sunday but meant to say last time - I'm sorry you had such a bad day last weekend - sending you big hugs. (ps Jen could you add 23rd (Feb) to the list under me for DH'sbiopsy - ta XX)

Speak to you all soon!

Hola ladies

Sorry I've been a bit absent from phoenix centrale.
WARNING: this post contains large segments of extreme moaning and bilious dirge.
Yes, life aint too cock-a-hoop at the momento. I am way beyond reaching the end of my tether and can in fact see it dangling forlornly above my head as I plummet into a firey abyss of give me a frickin break.
Negative Things:
I now officially have NO FRIENDS that are childless - the repercussions on my social life and mood are ginormio
I have developed cluster headaches
I have an incisional hernia thanks to boss eyed surgeon who operated on my ectopic - ta mucho numbnuts!
My eyes are having a freak out
I have sinusitis
I have exams looming
I am not sleeping
Work is busier than a bee working two jobs to support her family whilst caring for an elderly relative.

Positive Things;
NADA

As you can see I am a fountain of PMA today, come bathe in rivers of ire that flow from my knackers yard body.
I feel better for that rant. Zen Zen Zen and a few pan pipe breathes and its all good.

Hope all you ladies are ok, you all seem pretty positive, maybe its catching!

Hi Everyone

MLG glad it went well telling your family, it is often better that they know, that way you get more support. Try not to work too hard this weekend :!:

Nicki & lis my Cat is fine this morning thanks, refusing to go outside unless one of us stands outside with him though. :? Nicki how many cats have you got? I have two both 14 and im embarrassed to say both heavier than yours, im sure they are just big boned! Mine are permanently on a diet but I think its lack of exercise. :(

Lis that’s a good idea about the Tankini, I wonder if the shops have got many summery clothes in, good excuse to go shopping. What a busy day you have had. Ive had quite a lazy day but I did go to the gym and for the first time ever I got a bit if a buzz for going :P

Lola you poor thing, sending lots of PMA and positive vibes your way. Hope things pick up for you really soon.

Hi everyone

Haven't been able to log on for a few days, something wrong with internet connection...

Hope everyone is well.

I felt a bit sad on Friday because I would of been 12weeks, feeling abit better today.

I still aren't back at work, I was suppose to go back last monday but just couldn't face it for some reason, I can't sleep at all at the moment, anyway I went to my doctors asking him to extend my sick note, he said he thinks I'm depressed and wrote out a prescription for some anti-depressants, I know I am very down at the moment but isn't that to be expected.? I don't want to go on the medication, all I need is a bit more time. Plus I want to start a cycle again hopefully March/April so I don't want to be on any meds..! I am due back at work Next Monday.

I think I am going to go back to the gym, haven't been in about 6 months, and I know I use to feel great after, plus you girls on here who are doing all this excercise have given me the incentive to go. Lets hope it will make me feel better.

Anyway hoping all you ladies are ok.? Take Care everyone

Lucy

Hi ladies

Feeling better today, even though I had to get up earlier to work at home! :( :x
Got to get up even earlier than usual tomorrow to finish the work I couldn't today! But hopefully things will get better in a week or two. Image
Went to a seaside village to have lunch with friends that are over from England, and their little baby. Image Good to be with them, and (almost) didn't feel sorry for myself. 8) Image

Lucy - Hope you are feeling better and ready for work. Image Maybe the exercise will help. Image Image But if you continue unable to function normally, think of doing something about it (counselling, anti-depressants, .....) Image - depressions are not to be underestimated. I should know, I had one that wasn't treated and was never quite myself again! Image

Nicki -Glad you are feeling your radiant self again. ImageKeep the PMA!

Gail - You give your cat an extra dose of care to help him get over the fright. Image

Lola - Hope your headaches/eyes/hernia/sinusitis/sleeping/work, and specially your mood, have improved immensely Image and that all the PMA lacking is coming back in double!
Can't you take some time out? Or go somewhere new for a weekend? Image You sound like you need a change! Image

Lis - Still feeling positive? Keep it up! Image

Welcome Julie, I'm sure you'll find lots of help and PMA (positive mental attitude) on this site. Image

Jen - Hope Dad is much better. Image

Wishes of a good week and PMA to all

Hi everyone....

hope you all had a good weekend. I have read your posts but wil catch up with you all personally another day if that's okay cause i am stressed for time tonight. Lis i did stick in the date you asked tho. Good to hear from you Lucy and Lola, as well as all the regulars. :)

I am just back from the hospital. I came home on Sat as my Dad took a turn for the worst. He was put on oxygen and did give us all a fright. Today the antibiotics are starting to kick in and his chest infection sounds a bit better. I am sure that he will be okay by the end of the week but it's all still a bit worrying. The worst part is the heart op he had didn't work, so it's back on the medication. Which really pisses him off cause he can't exercise. ( he used to cycle 50 miles a day). :(

Anyway i now have to go and iron ( yeuk!!!) stuff for work so I'll catch ya all tomorrow.

Loving hugs Jen

Hi everyone,

Just a quickie as dh down stairs and waiting to put film on! Jeni, so sorry about your Dad. Keeping everything crossed for him. Keep strong. (thanks for the date too).

Feeling really blue tonight. DH also feeling it. All my PMA from yesterday has gone :( even though I went out for a nice coastal 2 hour walk today! Still hasn't cheered me up.

Julie, thanks for the info that's really helpful. Consultant mentioned lab tests if negative results so think that might be what he's referring to. I'll let you know.

Bye for now everyone

Jeni,
Glad to see that things are lookng better for your dad- must be a relief to be out of the critical zone.. Parents falling ill is pretty worrying..I hope he's out of there soon.
Take care hon.
Lucy,
If you need anti-depressants, then its better to take them- a mild dose..taking them doesnt mean you cant cope on your own- but the thing to keep a check on is the dosage and how you are affected by it..
Lis,
sending positive thoughts to you!
MLG,
your posts are cheery as ecer.. take care..
NIck
are you out of the blues yet.
Wishing all of you on this thread your dreams come true this year.

Hi Ladies

Jen, Glad to hear dads doing better, hope the medication works for him.

MLG, Smita, I know what you are both saying about the anti-depressants, but I'm worried about been on them during my IVF cycle, my doctor said it is ok, but is advisable to stop before your treatment starts, well he wants me to be on them for 6 months, I am hoping to start treatment in March/April time so to me there's no point going on them, especially if he has said IT IS ADVISABLE TO COME OFF BEFORE TREATMENT STARTS. I know there must be loads of people out there that on on anti-depressants and have concieved naturally, but I think when you go through IVF you are a bit more Cautious about what you take. Oh well I will see how I get on, if I don't feel any better in myself then I will consider it, becuase I know how depression can effect a person. The thing I don't think I'm depressed, maybe just a bit down. I also know you shouldn't under-estimated it though.

Hope everyone else is OK.

Take Care

Hi Girlies :)

The weekend went sooooo fast. Glad in one way coz work keeps mind off things. Hate too much time to think.

Had a look at the stats for my clinic against others in the North West on Friday and they are the worst in our area :( . Had long convo with HFEA as the stats are from 2002/2003 and they sort of reassured me that different clinics take on a variaty of patients with more difficult in depth problems and if mine do take more difficult patients it is a reason why the stats are "significantly" lower! Something else to worry about.

MLG - How do you feel now you have told your parents about the IVF. Hope it has helped :) :). I felt tons better as the support does do you good but on the flip side they never say the right things (well mine don't!!). Haven't discussed it for ages and my sis asked me how things were. I said I have started to get down re the ICSI and she asked me why. Explained I was worried about the whole thing and she said to handle it head on and matter of fact like I do everything else and I will be fine :!: I said I was scared it might not work and she said "oh well, you get three goes so better luck next time". BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!!!! No one understands the emotions and I can't blame them for that but just wish they would pretend!!!!!!   That's another name crossed off my support/sympathy list......

Lucy - I too am wary re pills and anti-depressants and you do need to do what is best for you but you should consider it if your Dr thinks it will help. Try going back to the gym again if you fancy it. Doing things little by little might perk you up and if you build it up gradually you may feel better. 8) 8) . May be worth a try before taking the pills if wary.

Jen - Hope you are ok and your dad is on the mend :) :) :) . No more dates to add yet I am afraid. Waiting and waiting for the letter but am told it is defo July and I will keep you updated.

Lis - Hope you and your DH are feeling perkier today :P .

Nick and Lola - Hope you girls are feeling better too. :P :D .

Sending lots of positive energy to you all.

Take care

Julie xxx
