Early scans info for Holly

Hi Holly, thought I'd start this for you because I'm not sure people will see your question on the other thread. Basically you wanted to know how people were scanned for early (6 / 8 week ) scans (external or internal). I was only scanned internally and I was led to believe that there was no point scanning externally until much later. Has anyone else experienced different scans? I think Holly has been offered external scans for 6 weeks (is that right Holly?) but I'm not sure she's goiing to have much luck unless they give her internal. Can anyone else help with advice?

My scans were internal. I was told that the sac is so small early on that abdominal scan is inconclusive. I continued to have internal scans all the way through my first trimester.

Yep,
First external scan was done on me after I was 13 weeks..till then they were all internal and I had to have loads of them!!

Up until my Nuchal Scan at 12 weeks all my scans were internal.

Hi Holly didn`t see your question, but I had scans from 4.5 weeks (yeh really) and will have them weekly til week 13 all vaginally.

I had another external scan with my GP on friday but nothing to see. He was very nice, very surprised and happy for me.
Over here they do nothing till you are 12 weeks not even bloods. but due to my history I have a app with consultant on monday 11.30. I hope I will have internal scan then.

Bad news I started bleeding last night and it was all finished by 6.30 this morning!!
The hospital will still see us at 11.30 so we go and check everything has come away.

Holly, I'm so sorry, I haven't been on the boards for a few days and I missed your news on Monday. I'm so so sorry - what a terrible shock you've had - I hope that you have lots of good people around you that are really comforting to you.
