I must say that I feel much better now that I have answers to the queries I had in my head for so long. Sometimes, I felt I was not able to ask my consultant all these questions as she is restricted with the consultation times.
Yes, it is a valid point about the dosage of the stimulants. I must check with my consultant and ensure that I don't take a very high dosage. You mentioned that you were surprised that I had only 5 follicles. I suppose this is uncommon for someone with PCO. I was also confused why this happened. Incidently, I did not react to the CLOMID and did not have any folicles with the treatment. Not sure why ???
Sophie, I am sorry to hear that you had HSS but happy that you had the chance to freeze your embryos. You mentioned that it was a nightmare. I am sure you must have been in alot of discomfort. How did u cope ? Did you have to take time / stay in hospital for the treatment ?
Wish you all the best and thank you for your best wishes.
Love,
Sita

Yes, the OHSS was pretty awful. I wasn't even interested in how many embryos we had as I jsu felt so rough. OHSS takes a few days to kick in as when they remove the eggs from the follicles they all slowly fill up with fluid and having so many meant that after having the egg collection on Saturday I was admitted as an emergency case in the middle of Sunday night. It has taken me a while to get over it and that is why I have taken so long to restart tmt. At least I got 13 embies!!!!
Regards your PCOS, I expect there are different degrees of PCOS and perhaps that's why you reacted to the clomid and IVF in a different way to me. The positive thing is that they understand more wht is going on now and the next tmt is likely to be geared to your exact requirements. They do say that the first IVF is like a trial to see what you REALLY need.
I wish you the very best of luck - lets' hope 2006 is a good one!!

Hello, I'm 19 and have just been diagnosed with PCOS, I was just wondering what are my chances of concieving in the future and is it anything for me to worry about?
I have had absolutly no periods for about 1 1/2 years now and i am taking no treatment, but my DR. said that i should be able to just go on with everyday life and when the time comes that i want to get pregnant, i should come talk to him. Do you think this is good advice or should i try sort it now?
