Hi Everyone!!!

Post by Holliebear »

Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Stephanie and I'm 33 years old. I have a beautiful 4 year old dd, who was conceived through IVF. Our problem turns out to be male factor, in fact his count is decreasing by the year, practically. Prior to the IVF when we conceived my dd, we went through 3 IUI's and 2 IVF's. Had my dd in 2002 and decided to try again for baby #2, when I found out that my insurance covers $25,000 of fertility costs. Have gone through 2 rounds of IVF last year with no success. I thought for sure, I would get pregnant that first time. I'm perfectly healthy and I respond well to the meds. After our second failed attempt back in Oct. 2005, the doctor was stumped, and told us to take a little break. That break has done nothing but wonders for me, emotionally. I'm so ready to get this ball rolling again. I started my bc pills on Monday and should start my Lupron next week. The doc is wanting to dilate my cervix on Monday (anyone ever hear of that?), since there were complications with my last transfer. Also have to have a full bladder for the transfer. Does anyone else have to do that? How uncomfortable!!! Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say that I'm thinking Positive Thoughts for all of you. We are all deserving and will be given a miracle soon. I just know it.

Thanks for listening!

Hi Stephanie and welcome!

I hope that this cycle will be a success.
I dont know about the cervix dilatation, but for the bladder, I think it is to guide the Doc during the transfer better. Having a full bladder pushes the organs and they become clearer for the ultrsound!

Take care

Souris,

Thanks for the reply. I'm just ready to get the ball rolling. The last ET we did was with a full bladder, and it was so uncomfortable. So, I'm used to it. This time, I'm bringing in a portable cd player with a spa cd, so I can stay totally relaxed during the whole thing. That's what I did with my successful FET 5 years ago, and it worked.

How do you do the ticker thing. Those are so cute.

Thanks and positive thoughts.

Stephanie!

I never thought about bringing music for ET, i will definitely try it. I was really tense for my last ET, and i was very painful (not the ET itself but because i was still in pain from EC) so a bit of relaxation is a great idea!

You can do your own ticker on the following website (sorry for any mistake)
www.ticker-factory.com or maybe www.tickerfactory.com, sorry i dont remember...

Sending loads of PMA
take care

Great. Thanks to all for responding. I had my cervical dilation today. The procedure was kind of painful, but other than that, I'm fine. I'm having my mock transfer tomorrow, so he's planning to take it out then. We'll see. We asked him why we aren't conceiving at this point (originally male factor, but since we do ICSI, it's really not an issue any more). He said it's unexplained. I think it would be easier if we had an explanation, like, don't respond well to meds, etc.... Anyway, we're hopeful and thinking positive this go round, and are thanking God every day for the miracle that he is about to give us.

Positive Thoughts to all

Stephanie,

That is a really good idea about bringing calming music to the ET. I am definitely going to do that on my next go which should start next week. For me the ET is the hardest bit but only because I had a really bad experience on my first ET last January.
