new to this

Post by Jeanette2K6 »

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum circuit and am slowly trying to figure it all out. I recently went through my first IVF cycle with no luck. :( Microflare protocol (microdose lupron/follistim/repronex) and only produced 4 eggs which they harvested on monday. Unfortuneatly non of them survived fertilization past day 2. I am nervous to start my 2nd cycle, any advice on how to improve my chances? I've been looking up various diets as well as accupuncture/homeopathy etc...

Hi Jeanette,
I am sorry to hear that your attempt at IVF did not work. I actually just tried IVF for the first time and found out on my 30th birthday(yesterday) that it didn't work. :(

I am nervous to try it again. All of the shots were not pleasant and I don't know if I can handle the emotional rollercoaster again. At the same time I would like to experience concieving my own baby.

Stacy,
I know what you mean, the worst part for me was the anesthesia for the retrival. It took me a couple days to feel like myself again. That and the injections and blood draws were not the most pleasant thing either, but I guess it will be all worth it in the end. I feel so sad because we were so close...

Jeanette,

welcome to this forum, you've really hit upon a goldmine - all the ladies here are so supportive and positive. We share all our worries and our experiences to help each other through.

I know what you and Stacy feel about the procedures, but it does get a bit easier as you go - just take a big breath and repeat after me "I have done this, I can do this, This is worth it!" Let me hear you now!!

And when it's successful, you'll soon forgive all the injections and rollercoaster mood swings.

All the best for a successful year! :D

Jeanette and Caroline,
Thanks for all of the encouraging words! I feel so blessed to have found such a fab place to go for emotional support. I was happy yesterday when I had a message from my fertility doc! He called to see if I had any questions and to make sure things were going okay.

Have a relaxing weekend!
