Back Again!

I haven't written on the list since my first failed attempt at IVF, back in April, but I have been reading all of your notes, and keeping up-to-date with everyone's progress.<br><br>On Friday I had my follow up consultation at my Clinic and came back quite nervous about my next attempt. <br><br>When I had my last attempt, although I had well over 25 follicles, I only produced 6 eggs. My consultant told me that although he was aware that every follicle did contain an egg, they just wouldn't come out during EC. He said that he tried each one at least 10 times, but they wouldn't come away from the follicle. He explained how they actually get the eggs (which is quite facinating), but because mine hadn't matured enough, they wouldn't budge. Anyway, to make sure the same thing doesn't happen again, they are putting me on 150ml of Gonal-F for 12 days and wont alter the dosage at any point. He said that by doing this, it will mature the eggs properly. Last time, he dropped my dosage down from 225ml to 75ml and so he thinks that, doing that didn't work for me. <br><br>The problem with doing this is that last time I suffered from mild OHSS and I am terrified that it is only going to be worse this time. The consultant has said that even though he has said this, if I suddenly start to show signs of OHSS, he will pull the plug on the treatment, but I am still worried. I obviously will drink liters and liters of water, and I guess all I can do is keep my fingers firmly crossed.<br><br>I wont be starting until the last week in July / 1st week in August, with my Burselin, so hope to gets loads of Augsts buddies nearer the time.<br><br>A big hug to all of you.<br><br>Donna<br>XXXXX<br><br><br><br>

Hi Donna<br><br>My AF will be due around the 16th Aug when I will be starting my first ICSI cycle. I too am worried about over stimulation, they are putting me on the max doses of everything (because I am 38) even though all hormone levels are good.
