Hello - please can I join you, this is my first IVF and I started Burserlin last night and tonight I also start Menopur (spelling!!), they have put me on the highest dosage because my FSH in August was 12 (naturally feel pregnant just week before I was due to start IVF in August, sadly ended in ectopic). I am on the short protocol and ET is scheduled around the 3rd Feb. I feel very excited, not nervous at all and I am so pleased to be here chatting with all you girls. I do have one question, being on the short protocol can I still have rumpy pumpy without protection ? I'm sure I can because Burserlin stops ovulation and Menopur produces my follicles. Wishing all you girls/boys the best of luck with all the BFP, 2006 is going to be our year.
sorry - just a very quick post!
Kyla - welcome! Can't help with you're question I'm afraid, but great to have you on board!
Jackie - fab news about the fertilisation. 9 is my dh's fav. number (it was also the number of eggs I had in my last cycle, was the number that fertilized and my test was on 9/9 - dh's birthday!!! spooky!)
Sophie and Kelly - great to see you both get started.
Am in a rush to finish work. Off until Monday now as et tom. Am only on-line at work so won't be able to check in until Mon!
Have a fab weekend all!

Evening all!
Such a lot of brilliant news.
Jackie, brilliant news about those embies. When's ET?
Jen how did yours go?
Cla, hope that little embie is back in place and bedding in nicely. Remember, it only takes one!
Souris, injecting at last. I bet you never thought it would arrive!
Joanna, I'm glad ET went well.
Kyla, welcome. I'm not sure about your question but the hospital said protection was needed just in case a natural pregnancy did occur, the drugs would damage the foetus. Don't know if it's the same on the short protocol.
Angela, how did your scan go? I had mine yesterday (got the date wrong in my head). All the doctor said was 'fine'. So started Menopur last night.
Mixing the meds took me half an hour. They'd showed me in the hospital, but it was a little more complicated than I thought. The syringe is different and took a while to work out.
I'm now on 2 injections a day- joy, oh joy. But GREAT, Sue was right. No BIG needle for the hSG jab. You lot had me seriously worried. I don't imagine it will be at all nice though- freezing cold straight from the fridge. That's usually how I take my gin. Can't see a big pile of hormones doing the same trick!
Just wondering if one of you could answer one of my question at all...
I'm on the pill now, have been for roughly a month, and obviously haven't had a period as started one pack of pill from another. Anyways, I'm due to start Supercur injections from 31st January, but won't stop taking pill till 7th February, am wondering if AF will arrive when i stop taking pill on 7th feb?
Just curious, is all - thanks in advance.

ET was awesome! The doc said that he transferred "two of the pretties embryos I have ever seen". They seem extremely optimistic. I'm so excited, I could die! Preg test on the 27th. I will have NO nails by then!
After the transfer, we drove to my parent's "cottage" in Michigan where I camped out on the couch until we left today. Dan has been taking excellent care of me and he has been enforcing the doctor's "no lifting anything heavier than a credit card" rule. BUT he keeps forgetting to let me have control of the remote. Doctor's orders.
Good luck for your up and coming cycles/2ww. I am 26 weeks pregnant with twins and just wanted to offer some advice for those in the 2ww. I rested the entire 2 weeks, i didnt lift anything at all, dont feel lazy or a princess give those embies a good chance to snuggle down, I also drank heaps of water. My doctor gave me 2 hcg shots during the 2ww, they make your body think it is pregnant so everything is perfect for the embies, i truely think that made a difference as i had never done it before with my failed cycles. Lastly and dont worry if you didnt do this, i had acupunture the day before ET and the day after.
But most importantly dont think you are a princess for laying around watching tv as much as possible. DO WHAT YOUR DH SAYS .
I hope it was ok to post here i dont want to offend anyone
Best of luck for you girls

Angeleyes: I did a fresh cycle in france that was neg then a fet in france that was a miscarriage. I am now with Queensland Fertility Group in Australia and I got pregnant on my first try. When i cycled in france no one ever said anything about taking hcg shots during the 2ww, I only found out about it when my dr (Dr Warren De Ambrosis) told me which days during the 2ww i was to have them done. I have read a lot of boards and i hardly ever see people having this treatment, only the first HCG shot to prepare the eggs for release. Everytime i hear about people doing IVF i feel i should mention the hcg shots in the 2ww, but this is the first time i have written about it. Everything makes so much sense with the injections, your body beleives its pregnant so increses blood flow to the womb and stops the lining breaking down, so the embies have the best head start.
Only problem is you cant do any sneaky Pregnancy tests
Thanks for posting here Jaymee: any advice (that's worked) is more than welcome! And congratulations that it has worked for you. I'll ask my dr about the Hcg shots.
JenC - great that your ET went well and glad to see you are taking Jaymee's advice!
Lynne - great that you had an encouraging scan. Helps to really build the PMA doesn't it?!

Another week over... this week seems to have gone by so quickly. I hope time flies quickly next week too.
Burtie - Any sign of AF????
Kelly - I'm so pleased AF arrived. Mine showed up testerday very early in the morning and I was the same as you - very pleased to feel that pain! Hope scan on Monday goes well.
Have to admit that I cheated - I could tell on Wednesday that AF was imminent within the next few days so I told clinic AF had arrived. This is because my clinic is very busy and the last IVF cycle, when I called with AF I had to wait over 2 weeks for the scan because they were so busy. As things turned out, I have had to wait a week this time. She said I was lucky for AF to arrive (not!) on Wednesday as my consultant is going on holiday soon and I would have been delayed by 3 weeks. HA! I'm glad I worked the system, it has worked to my advantage. (In case you were wondering, if AF did not arrive I would have told them that AF was a false alarm and just heavy spotting.)
Jackie - 9 fertilized is fantastic!!!!! Well done. I hope the soreness is settling down now.
Kendra's mom - well done with the injections. Whats the next step?
Souris - I'm so pleased you have finally started. What a shame about the mix up. I know you must be missing cat and DH at the moment but I'm sure it'll be worth it!!!!!!!!
Cla - how did the ET go??????? Are you okay? By the way, I'm only 20 miles from Coventry!
Joanna - How's the dreaded 2ww going? Fingers crossed for a BFP!!!!
Jen C- I am SO pleased your ET went well. You must be so excited. Are you feeling more comfortable now???? I was a bit concerned about you for a while!
Lynne - Glad the scan went okay. Next step now!
Kyla - Welcome!!!!!!!!!!

The dreaded 2 week wait isn't going too bad, bit bored though already!
I go back to work on the 30th and test 2 days later.
I have been resting since embryo transfer on wednesday but popped in to town today with DH i didnt carry anything he even insisted on carrying my hairspray bottle!
Still very bloated and get AF cramps now and again but don't know whether thats just my ovaries recovering.
Dont want to get my hopes up as i don't want to be disappointed if it doesn't work,so just not expecting too much.
The nurse at the clinic who did my transfer was lovely she said she had a good feeling about us both and if this didn't work this time she knew it would eventually!!
