Hi ladies,
Injections were okay yesturday. The follistem pen was a breeze; the menopur syringe hurt a little. I did the first (DH at work) and DH did the second, so tonight I'm going to try the Menopur myself.
Sophie - sounds like our timing will be similar. Good luck with your FET!
JenC - glad to hear ET went well. That's so nice for you to get positive news about the embies from your dr. Every little bit of PMA helps. I'll keep fingers crossed for a BFP on 1/27
Joanna - congrats on your ET as well, and here's to a BFP on 2/1
Cla - how did the FET go??
Kyla - welcome. To answer your question, I was allowed to have sex until 3 days before ER, as long as you use protection. The three day rule is especially important if you're using DH's sperm.
Heather - I'm not sure what Supercur is. Is it for downregging? Like Lupron? Or the nasal spray one (forgot name)? If so, then I would think that yes, you would get AF shortly after stopping BCP. I was on Lupron & BCPs, stopped the BCPs 3 days after starting Lupron, got AF two days later, started stimming shortly thereafter. That's what happened with me. Not sure if that helps.
Hi to all the other ladies.

Hi all,

I am about to embark on 3rd ICSI this week. AF due to start after Wednesday 25th Jan. I'm on coflare treatment so it should only last a total of 2 weeks start to ET. I really hope it works this time or at the very least to have FE for future use.

Can I join the thread please?

From monday i will have 2 inj a day... dont really know why as the protocol is very different than my last cycle.
For the moment i have them in my tummy, fairly painless, the needle is very small. Only the drug stings a bit...
And the 2nd one will be in the butt! or thigh...

My mummy is arriving tomorrow, i am so excited!! I have not gone outside the house since Dh is gone, 15 days...
So i am getting ready for some shopping and girlie nights! yeah!

Hope you are all having a fab week end!
Take care

Souris,

Best of luck with your treatment. It might be my last one too but I haven't completely decided yet. This time I am going it alone with DH. Family and friends thinks we have put it on the back burner for a while. Last couple of times I found it harder with everyone knowing. I know they were trying to help but all the calls and the pity looks were killing me.
I'm from Dublin, Ireland but I have live in Cheshire so It's easier to hide it from my family, as a result of the distance. My friends are been told that I am on a major study call for the 2 weeks so it gives me an excuse for a while.

Really hope this one works for us both Souris.

Hi All,
Thanks to everyone for asking how the scan went. It was fine and I am now stimming. Looks like EC will be week of 30th Jan- hopefully on 30th Jan if everything goes to plan. Scan is on Friday- can't wait to see if everything is working properly. I'm a little worried as apart from feeling a little bit blue and waking up hot in the night, I have no side effects. I haven't shouted at DH once which is unknown for me. Maybe these drugs are turning me into a calm person instead of the loose cannon I normally am.
I've cancelled a couple of social things though. Mixing the drugs takes too long and I get too worked up to even entertain the idea of doing the injections anywhere else. I've come down with a bout or two of fictitious gastroenteritis! DH has had to tell step- daughter about the process as we were supposed to be dining there this week. I didn't really want her to know, so she has sworn never to mention it to me. My Mum, who does know, is being of no support at all. Didn't even ask how my scan went.
Also, I told one friend I was to start injecting Jan 1st. She texted for the first time yesterday about something banal. I feel quite angry towards her. Felt like texting back "go to hell". But I didn't. I am just ignoring her for the minute. I'll get over it I know, as I'm only upsetting myself. I do feel very betrayed though as she knew she was the only person I trusted with the information. I can't believe she wouldn't enquire about how it was all going, especially as she knew how hard I was going to find it. Stupid really because I should know by now.
Anyway, I shall stop moaning and attempt to reclaim some PMA. I do think she's a b***h though.

Just updating the list for me.
Good luck everyone. I see we have a Feb test date thread. Exciting, isn't it?

Hi Lynne

Try not to worry about your friends lack of interest, sometimes people do not understand and are so wrapped up in there own lives they dont think about anyone else.

My mother-in-law has been lovely and even she said she feels a bit awkward asking because she thinks we think shes being nosy and its not something you want to broadcast to everyone.

My advice is not to tell your friend any thing else and then if she asks i would reply that i didn't think you were interested!

She will soon realise.

GOOD LUCK with your treatment and remember you can speak to us!!

Hi All,

Heather, Starts inj 31st Jan, 1st scan 14th Feb (welcome back)
- Lynne Scan Fri 27th EC 30th Jan (hopefully)
- Sue-e - waiting for AF, FET Feb (hopefully)

- JenC- 2 embies holding on tight. Test date 27th Jan
- Joanna - 2 embies holding on tight. Test date 1st Feb

- Cla - ET 20th Jan
- Moggy - waiting for AF
- Amanda - starting inj 20th Jan
- Bina - started Buserelin 6th Jan, scan 24th Jan
- Carly - waiting for AF

Lynne- sorry to hear your friend isn't very sensitive. I agree with Joanna, I think it's awkward for some people to ask. My mom always acts very strange during my cycles. Yesturday on the phone, I know the whole conversation she was waiting for me to offer information, so finally as I'm getting off the phone with her she asks. I have mixed feelings. Sometimes I want people to ask because then I know they're interested/they care, but then if I have bad news it's hard to share with them. We've only told both our parents, my sister and one of my friends. It can be a hard thing to hide, though. Especially at work when it's time for EC/ET.
Souris - have fun with your mom. A little girl-time is a really good distraction!
Macca - welcome. We're doing icsi, too. Ours is for pgd reasons. Hopefully third time's a charm for you!
Mbzz - hope AF comes soon, and that your FSH is right where it should be. Good luck!!
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hi all
What a great group of gals you are.
i hope you dont mind me dropping in on your talks but i would really love to join you all for some moral support and to share trials and tribs.

Me and dh married 03 and have been on nhs waiting list ever since, finaly we are at the top, and are on day6 of buseralin (down reg) and have had bad period pains today and been a little bit missarable, but waiting i think you all call it AF ie period if AF is wrong, to arrive to book first scan then stims.

not doing very well with injections but small price to pay i quess.

It is so great that there are places to come and chat, when it feels no one understands you, but i know this site will be a great help, and i hope we can all keep in touch and keep all our spirits up when we find it hard to keep it up our selfs.

Does anyone know of any chat rooms or message boards for my DH to go on as i think he may feel a bit left out at the mo.

I dont know about the rest of you but it seems people can be a bit insensative ie freinds and work, but i suppose i should not expect people to understand, its just nice to know i can now come here and bend all your ears (sorry!)

Keep in touch and good luck to all of you xx

Lynne, I'm sorry about what you are going through with your friend. I agree with the others though. People really don't know how to react. They know it's a sensitive time for you and they aren't sure about how to approach you about it. My friends and family have been acting weird around me. Some ask, some don't. My mother in law never even called to see how the EC or the ET went. In fact, she hasn't asked much about it at all. Don't waste any energy on your friend right now. Concentrate on you and getting you pregnant. That's more important right now.

Charlie, what kind of problems are you having with the injections? How far into the IVF cycle are you?
Our dream came true! We are due October 5th!
