Hi all,
I'm brand new to this site. I had EC today 24th Jan, 22 eggs. I ring at 11am tomo to c if any have fertilised. I'm due back in for ET this Friday 27th, my 27th birthday. Mr DP and I are keeping fingers crossed, I feel I am relying on fate for my birthday to be a good omen.
I was given this website by a nice lady in the waiting room of the IVF unit whilst waiting for my day 12 scan. I havent had anyone to talk to until now and would like to thank you all for making my 1st IVF cycle seem so bearable. My test date should be mid feb if all goes well. Can I please be added to this list. I'm new to the site and not sure how it all works

I am back on the site after a six month break, so I am a bit of a stranger here - I had big exams and some family troubles to sort. All sorted now and exams passed so am now hoping for more positive news!!
Am due to test on 3rd Feb ... waiting is agony!! so I wondered if I could join the thread.

had egg collection today. All went well except that I only produced 8 eggs. My last cycle produced 9 eggs with less stimming...I know I should feel grateful but I cant help feeling dissappointed. I was expecting at least 11. My last cycle only produced 2 decent embryos, so I'm a bit frightened that I wont have 2 good quality ones with less eggs this time round.
My specialist says its probably endo returning, which puts the fear of god into me. There are so many hurdles on this road, sometimes its hard to feel hopeful. I just feel like I've gone through so much in the last 2 years that I cant bear any more bad news or setbacks.
I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow.

nothing in ivf seems more true than you never know. for my retrieval they got 18 eggs, and only 2 fertilized, but those were excellent quality. you could end up with 8 eggs, and 8 excellent embryos. until it's all over, you just never know.... so hard to live with!

Paulag - just to let you know - this time around I only had 6 follies, then five eggs and was convinced that we were back to square one - but - it was not so - two eggs fertilised and were suitable for replacement. You really never can tell - just try to stay positive - difficult as it is, stick with it. I wish you lots of luck.

I rang the hospital today and 16 eggs have fertilised. I am due to ring the hospital on Friday morning for my appointment time to have 1 embryo put back. I wish you all the very best of luck. My test day will be mis Feb, 14 days after 27th Jan, I presume. I dont know how to add myself to the list and was hoping someone would help. I'm brand new and its all so daunting. My 1st IVF and I dont think I really knew what to expect. I dont feel any amount of books prepare you for the real thing.

Paula - what the others are saying is so true... every round is different. And quality is sooooo much more important than quantity. Chin up - you have every reason to believe this will be the one!
