Hi, I have a test day of the 27th of January and my nerves are out of control. This is our frist IVF cycle after 4 IUIs with one ending in a miscarriage. My husband had to leave this morning for a 5 day work trip so I am feeling anxious. I am so glad I found this message board because I certainly cannot keep my mind on work the next few days!

Image HTP'S are evil... and only bring stress and heart ache. Image ...

Even when i had a negative in Dec ( the clinic told me to use an HTP on test day as they were on a 3 day holiday)...I went in 3 days after test day upset and the nurse said to me wait until your blood test yresult you could still be positive...i wasn't...

Jen the truth is that most who take them will get false results unless it is 17 days after your last shot of HCG booster (usually the one before EC)...go for it if you want but i would advise waiting...sorry if that is not what you wanted to hear... :shock:

You are absolutely right and I know this. I'm just being impatient.

I found this answer to the HPT's.....

When is the earliest I can do a home pregnancy test (HPT)?
It is very tempting to do a home pregnancy test before the one scheduled by your clinic. However if you had an hCG injection (the one 2 days before your retrieval) it could take up to 2 weeks for the hCG to leave your system. If you have received hCG boosters it could take even longer. If you test while the hCG from the injection is still in your system you could get a false positive. You could also get a false negative if the hCG from the injection has left your system and the hCG produced by the implanted embryo isn't strong enough yet. If you do decide to do an HPT, please realize that it is not a conclusive result and that you should always have your cycle results confirmed by your clinic.
