CAN YOU HELP??

Post by gem »

Hi Marteen
When we went for our needle training,I asked the nurse if I should change my lifestlye at all,she said some studies have shown that if you stop drinking before and during treatment, most people get better results.don't know if its true but I felt I needed to do something.so I haven't drank for 6wks,I'm now on my 2 week wait.
I think you can have the odd glass on a weekend,I just wanted to do something,so I know I've done everything possible-its all in my head!
I was also told to cut down on caffiene so switched to de-caff pop and t-bags.
Hope this helps,I'm sure most people don't stop drinking altogether and still get positive results.this is just what I did and still doing!!
Oh my husband was also told to stop drinking a a week before his sample and take zinc.

Hope I was some use?
Keep in touch
Love Gem xx

well is really too early for me to tell you what works....I'm definately partial to the odd glass of vino. Have def cut down, but didnt cut it out. Probably went to a couple fo glasses a week.
Our nurses said the drinking (in moderation) is fine - doent make any difference.

I have to say I even had a glass of wine of Saturday night - which if this doesnt work I will be kicking myself for. But I needed it!! As Gem says I dont think theres much evidence that a couple makes any difference and certainly would help if it relaxes you - its just that you wanna feel you've done the best you could.

take care

Cazx

Marteen,

I was also told a couple of glasses (not the one's that hold a whole bottle!!) are fine, I tried to be really good and had a couple of glasses evry couple of nights...then on my 2ww just felt it hadn't worked so the night before the pg test went mad and had lots of wine and a pack of silk cuts.....and am now a mummy to 14 month old beautiful twins. Whatever it takes to keep you relaxed...as I believe that is the most important thing to stay as de-stressed as posible.

Love
Nicky
