Hi everyone - I too am joiing you for a 'huge and heavy day' - can't be bothered to do anything! Is anyone else doiing the Euromillions tonight? I've just spent £40 on tickets as it seemed worth a go with a £100million prize fund! Wouldn't that be lovely!
Jacs - yeah we could swap numbers if you like - we could text each other then as that time approaches - we might even be contracting at the same point! PM me and I'll PM you back. I'm also wondering about various things you've said. Think we're goiing to have our baby in its own room from start but I'll sleep in there with him / her for first few weeks / months. I know everyone says they need to be in Mum and Dads room but we have our dog sleep in our room (pet hairs etc) and our room is really hot plus my hubby can't have any time off and it seems unfair for him to have to be up with me all the time. Don't know about cats but we've been given following advice for dog - don't ever leave baby unsupervised with animals in room (not that you would anyway!), while in hospital have a piece of material / muslin that you keep with baby for a littrle while to get his / her scent then get DH to take this home and give to the cats (put in their bed or near food) so they can get used to the smell, when coming back from hospital leave baby ourtside with hubby while you come in and make fuss of animals then come back in with baby and let them smell / get used to him / her. We're also putting a baby gate across nursery so dog doesn't go in (this wouldn't work with cats but maybe keep door shut to keep them out.) We're also keeping various chairs / baby play things around house now and training dog to leave them - don't know if you can train cats but just getting them used to stuff might be helpful. Good luck with it all - I'm sure it'll be fine but it is another thing to worry about like you say. Still, in long run I think babys and animals are a lovely mix - its good for both, it just means a bit more hassle in the short term.

Hope everyone else is doiing great,

love to all, Cherylxxx

Jacs

Sorry can't help with the pets thing, but we are going straight into the nursery - it is such a personal thing so just go with what your heart is telling you and if you want them in with you, then that is the right decision.

I like the "jelly" thing - that's exactly what it looks like

Big hugs to you all.

HI all,
Just back from the docs- nothing special, except the baby's head is down, but not engaged yet- I didnt get a scan which was a dlittle disappointing, but they said they'll scan me next week..
Other than that nothing to add- hope you all are doing fine- am really tired so I'll go nap now.
Funny how a drive can tire one out..

hugs 2 all, will pop in later!

Head down is fantastic Smita - you sound a bit disheartened but don't worry - the head will engage soon and how lovely to have scan to look forward to for next week. Just think - only a few more weeks...
Have a lovely rest and try not to worry,

That's a lovely bit of news - head down is such a relief at this stage and then next week you'll have a look for yourself.

Hope you enjoyed your nap.

Jacs,
Good to hear frm u..
For us,
the baby is going to have to be in with us as dh hasnt done any shopping there- i wanted a say in everything!!So am hoping I'll have enough energy to do up a nursery before we think of whether the baby will be with us or in her/his room..

LP,
Yes, Head down is a relief, weirdly, my lil one has been head down for 3 weeks now- and they didnt bother telling me!
I asked today and they said, why, of course its head down!
They truly need to be more open to patients!

Hows everyone else?

How strange they didn't bother to tell you - I guess that is where we are lucky here with the Midwife situation. My Midwife an absolutely Darling and has been holding my hand throughout!!

We went to London shopping this morning and I am now absolutely shattered. It only takes a 10 minute walk nowadays!!!!

Ah well, feet up this afternoon - watch the telly and relax.

Hope you are getting plenty of rest.

Ladies,

Good luck to all of you! I was 40 wks and 5 days and Meagan decided to make her entrance after my induction date was scheduled :) My 39 week checkup was actually only a fetal monitor test so I didn't actually get examined which surprised me. My doctor was stuck at the hospital with other deliveries. I wasn't told Meagan's head was already engaged. I dilated to 4 centimeters at home without my water breaking as well. We were quite surprised how quickly things went from that point.

Hope these last days and weeks go quickly and painlessly for all of you. Get lots of rest. God Bless you all!

hi all,
i've just been catching up on how you all are and you're sounding great! it will be so lovely to hear about all the births over the coming weeks and then we can all share our ideas and questrions over the other side!

hope you arent feeling too heavy etc. it's only a matter of time and those little wonders will be out and you'll feel light as a feather! it's certainly a time to get as much rest as possible as it's very hard to get it afterwards.

Ned is still a darling. the nights on the whole are bearable but the hardest thing is finding something he'll sleep in. we had a crib which he hated from day one, i then used his buggy as it's got a flat carrycot and that has been ok apart from having to lug it upstairs and downstairs. today we put his actual cot together which i wasnt planning to use for a few months and so far it seems to be a success... will know more by tomorrow morning!

have a lovely weekend all and enjoy these last days and weeks.

Minnow and Christine

It's really good to hear from you both - I'm sure finding spare time is not easy for either of you, but thanks for thinking of us.

Ned and Meagan sound wonderful, after so much it's good to hear that there can truly be a Happy Ending.

Big hugs to you

Saw my GP this morning - very reassuring, head now engaged and heartbeat was up over 160. He was really pleased with everything which always makes you feel better.

Hope you are all taking care and feeling ok.

Good news Lil P - great to hear you're doiing so well. I've been ill (cold) and also lost internet access for few days so I've been quiet. Does that mean there's a little little P on her way out then as the heart beat is high - that's meant to be a girl isn't it?!
Anyway, hope everyone's great - I'm goiing back to bed now cos feel dreadful but just wanted to check in

Cheryl

I have no idea what this Little One will be - all I know is that I still can't believe it all sometimes - I guess it's true that miracles can happen!!

Hope you feel better soon and the cold goes - try some hot milk and honey or hot water with a big slice of fresh lemon in it. They both helped me when I felt a bit under the weather!!

Big hugs and "get well soons"!!!

Love
