ANYONE DO IVF WITH ANTISPERM ANTIBODIES?

Post by Ronansmom »

HI

CONGRATS TO ALL OF YOU BFPERS!!

I am just curious if any on you did icsi with looooow motility and antisperm antibodies present. We are trying to decide whether to use donor sperm IUI or bite the bullet and do the ICSI with my DH's spermies.

congrats again and I hope to join you all over here one day!

Hi Krysta

we have antisperm antibodies and poor morphology in ejaculate (after VS reversal) - we had -ve IUI's and a m/c after ICSI with ejaculate sperm, also low fertilisation (3/12 eggs), so we used TESE surgical sperm this time and put dh on Zita's sperm vits for 3 months both of which helped considerably - we had 8/10 embies and I am now nearly 12 weeks pg with 4 frosties.....

I wouldn't bother with IUI again as it just wasted time energy and money for us, but would try ICSI maybe with TESE beofre going to donor sperm, and definitely dh take the Zita West vits (available online), no coffee, no baths etc When they do TESE they can take enough for several ICSI attempts. Professor Schulze in the Uni Clinic in Hamburg does special sperm tests, dont know about UK (electron microscopy) but he says it's more common than people think that antibodies do affect sperm quality at a molecular level not detectable via niormal spermiogram, TESE avoids this.

hope that helps

Thank you very much for all your info!

I am really happy for you and your DH and wish you all the best with your pregnancy.
:D
I will be talking to my fertility Dr next month to discuss our next steps, so I will definitely bring up the TESE option.

Thanks again,
Krysta

Hiya Krysta

My DH has antisperm antibodies and we were told ICSI was the only option. We were lucky to be successful first time. Good luck!!!

We have low motility and anti sperm antibodies as a result of a vasectomy reversal.
My husband produced his sample in the normal way and we got lucky both ICSI attempts.
Goos luck, I dont see any reason for you to use donor sperm but your doctor will know best.

:) Thank you to everyone and all your input. We are looking into ICSI for sure. I was thinking about using DIUI but now I think we should just go for ICSI. It seems like the most logical thing to do plus it would be DH bio child and I think that would make him happier.

Thanks again,
Krysta
