Hey Octofriends,

Lots of good news in February it seems....

Firstly.... sweet Steph, thinking about you lots and hoping that you are surviving... I know you are because you're a tough cookie :-) You know where to find us when you are good and ready :D
Sending YOU my daily quota of sunshine

Fab Lola - wow... great news for you :D ...so soon... but it's a good thing as you seem very ready to take it on. Keep us posted on your dates once you have made your final decision  . Hmm.... since you asked....I am still pursuing my Desperate Housewives dvds.....I cannot get enough of that show...does it sound pathetic if I actually state that it keeps me sane? Even DH actually enjoys it although he says it's for "chicks"....hmm, well it doesn't stop him from watching!

Jen - Lovely....you're all rearing to go...it looks like you will be all February buddies then?

Walshy - many thanks for your PM...sounds like you are still busy with your visitors. Hope you come to a consensus with DH about when you want to do your FET :-)

Well, I guess I will be all alone for my IVF in April/May.....
Calling the Dr tomorrow to schedule it...we are leaning towards April rather than May...

Heaps of love to you all.... have a good weekend (mine's over today!)

Oi Oi

Jen? Whats the score with your cycle? When do you start tmt? Has AF put in an appearance??

Steph - glad you're okish - miss your bizarre and upbeat posts

The R pequena and her square eyes - may I suggest for your next box set omnibus The Sopranos?? Honestly top class TV. I sort of fancy Tony Soprano. Which is odd because he is a fat, balding , violent, misogenist murderer. But hey, we've all got baggage eh?

Walshy? Where are you? Surfin? I really envy you in Sydney y'know. Australia has become my mantra (always a fan of a good chant) when things get toe curling.

Well I saw the ENT specialist. She put an endoscope up my nose and made it do the rumba in my head sans anaesthetic (Australia Australia) after which she pronounced me a) Very Brave b) Rife with pus ridden sinus infection. I asked her to have a look for Ken Embryo, nada. So now I am squirting roughly a billion different sprays up my nose like a crack ho with a tic and a bad memory.
Have decided to go ahead with the FET (or FERC as my clinic calls it...fercin nora  ) on the 21st. I've always had in my head that I would need 3 tries at ivf before I got pregnant so I kind of think of this one as "time served" affair, y'know? Hmmmm, thats not very PMA heavy is it? Not very Lola 2006 Version 2.0. Will try harder.

OK my darling young women of substance, I'm off watch Americas Next Top Model - bad TV is just soooo gooood (back me up on this one Little R)
Have a bueno weekend

Love like a freighter

Grrrreat news Lola..... I can't believe it is just around the corner
So 21st Feb is the date
As for bad TV, we don't get so much of that living out in the desert with added censorhsip. Hmm know of the Sopranos, but maybe a little too violent for me  Only kidding... will have to see whether the local DVD store carries it :!: Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Jen...nice to know you won't abandon me in the Spring....give us dates please...

Still haven't managed to contact the Dr about our IVF in April/May.... argh, they're so inaccessible.

Okay...this was just a quickie.... must dash.

We miss you Steph, but glad you are keeping busy...lots of love to you special girl!

Hugs to all you brave Octogirls...

Hello Octoberies,

Hope the weekend was good to you all. No more visiters for me which i have taken full advantage of by walking around the house naked! Just hope my neighbours didn't see.

Steph how's it all going. Hope you and DH have had some time together to overcome what has happened to you over the last few weeks. We are all here for you and hope to hear from you soon.

Lola I can not believe your FET is just around the corner. How many you having put back in? And i will go double or nothing on your BFP as the world wouldn't be so cruel as to not start giving us all BFP.

Jen not long for you either just waiting for AF which is so ironic considering we usually don't want her to show up now we are willing her to. Also how many are you having put back in??

Little R I think i will still be cycling with you around May although I want to start now I rely want to lose weight and not have a baby in the middle of summer so will wait until atleast May and have an Autumn baby.

Well as for me I have had a crap weekend and am having a mental health day off work today. Went to a BBQ on the weekend and friends of our announced their pregnancy... These are the bunch of friends where none of us have kids (no-one wanted them besides my DH and me) So it came as a shock and then i had to listen to them all afternoon saying don't know how it happened she was on the pill etc...None of them know about me and what i am doing but it just really hit home that I am childless and may be forever....I have two bunches of friend one with kids and one without. I find that I spend more time with the without kids as it is to hard for me at the moment to be surrounded by kids looks like they will actually be around everywhere now! See i think they are stalking me :?

Ok enough dwelling will talk to you all later, love Walshy

 Gi gang,
Finally the dreaded AF arrived last night, yipeeeee for once i am happy to see it here. We will start our medi on the 26th Feb and will hopefully bring our little embies home sometime in April.
As our first cycle was "an experiment", as the doctor said, (bloody expensive experiment), i was on the lowest amount of medi they could give me. So we have to go through the whole process again, no frosties. My medi will be increased we are praying that we get more eggs this time.

Lola - Will be just behind you. Not long now bud, BFP all the way. By the way, i'm all for bad tv, comes in handy on the 2ww.

Walshy - My neighbours would die of fright if they saw me.
You keep your chin up. Would you not consider telling your friends? We were not going to tell anyone and it caused a bit of stress so we told some friends and work colleagues. A weight was taking off our shoulders and they are all so supportive. Most just chat about it if we want to but i know they are there for support anytime.

Little R - Maybe you will be starting your next cycle after i finish, with a BFP i hope. Get on to that Dr and get things moving. We will be here all the way to your BFP.

Steph - Huge hugs flying over to you. Get yourself down to Starbucks for a Grande Latte with extra toppings of cream (oh, i'm jealous), you deserve it. We are here for you when you need to chat.

Catch up with you all soon gorgeous buds. Away to work now.

Howdy-HO Tuberoos!

How are my bestest girls around the world? Eh? seems you are all doing quite lovely and the excitement for upcoming FET's is building! Smiles!

As for me.... I had a little funeral in my mind for Arnie and Buffy. Quite top notch actually. Buffy and Arnie were laying in their little caskets- coincidently shaped like little petri dishes. Other little embies in their best and most black snow baby outfits standing about hopin it doesn't happen to them. Other embie ghosts in little bikinis, but lacking crazy glue sticky hands and feet and death grip muscles tearing up and remembering what it was like when it "happened to them". Boys to Men were also there singing "it's so hard to say goodbye to yesterdays" Tear. All very sad.... go toward the white light little warriors.

I am doing rather well. I am over the "why did this have to happen" hubba- ba-loo. Time to move on. I have a doc appt on the 14th to discuss all of our "options", which is code for give me your life savings. I am going to tell him to take anything out of the conversation that begins with- well, you never know.... and ends with- it could happen next month. Give it to me straight barkeep! DH still lives in the land where Peter Pan and the Easter Bunny are promising miracles and he needs to hear the blow by blow. I want to scrap it all and move to adoption. DH wants to keep trying, so what the doc has to say it very important. It will make or break the deal-y-o. Maybe I should approach subject with DH today as he is on perma-high with the Steelers winning the Super Bowl! yee-haw. hmmm.

Lola- Lovey-looy. Absolute craziness comin from you. Very exciting that FET is just around the corner. I think I see your embies takin a peek right now, they are sportin little blue wigs and carrying spyware backpacks- all of this will come in very handy in utero.

Little R- hello my sweetums! Have no fear, we will still be lovin you and sending very potent well being waves of light to ya in the Spring. I know this really fabulous american chick that was born in May- what a lovely b-day prezzie that would be for her for a Little R BFP!

Jen- Doing the AF arrival dance right now? Put your left foot in and shake it all about- oh sorry wrong dance, he, he.

Walshy- Totally relate to the friends and getting preggers. ALL of my friends now have kiddos, 2 are pregnant with their seconds, except one couple and they have announced they are going to start trying this month, which given how easily everyone else in my world gets pregnant, I am sure the phone call is coming soon. DRAT! Oh well, they are loveliness and so supportive of us that I will be happy for them and the jealousy ping will be quick.

Sendin lovin from the oven!

Hola Lovelies

Steph good to have you back. Well, its grown up talk time. I hope the doc gives you some definites to hang your choices on. Its all so vague though, so many could do's when what you want is a bit of direction - Steph to stage right ...and.... ACTION! Remember, you are young, (love is a battlefield?) and you have got time to make a decision, nothing has to be rushed.

Jemla so the AF came, whoo hoooo! So day 21 will be 27th then?? A mere 6 days after me. I may be getting cold feet...but more of that later.
Bad TV! man! I simply can't get enough! If my exams were on The Biggest Loser or in fact any Living TV show I would surely be the A+ bueno of the bunch. Sadly, it aint.

Little R Little R whats Dubai like in April? I suppose its always pretty hot? Am thinking of going for a long weekend

Walshy the naturist, I'm having two put back, increase the odds a bit. Your bet has been duly noted. Mental health days should be compulsory. Lordy - no matter how many times you hear it, finding out a friend is pregnant is so hard. But we will prevail!!!!

Well ladies, I am here to tell you that I have had ENUFF. My body is sabotaging my life and I am locked in mortal combat with another bloody virus. And the antibiotics I'm on for "Sinus War: The Final Turbinate" have given me diarrhoea. I am always ill lately! Its one thing after another and I'm severely piqued. I don't know if I'm doing the right thing by having FET so soon. The fact that I'm just getting sick all the time prob reflects that I'm exhausted - y'know? I've been on some sort of treatment or another for various problems for the last 5 months, I feel a bit used up and tired. Maybe its just today, feel awful. But I'm worried. I wanted to be fit and healthy before next try and I'm like a scummy rag. Sorry for the moaning but this is a real dilemma. maybe I'll feel better after a sleep. All advice gratefully accepted.

OK, I'm off to snort my dexa hexa fluff-o-miser and practice sexy winking in the mirror. Not at same time.

POWER to the OCTO-BERETS!

Love, Lolange Fortiscue-Smythe

Dear Buddies

Guess who? It's been so long and I'm sorry but the last month has been busy here. Lots going on (good things), I'm afraid that's my excuse. Plus I'm only just feeling normal - was getting overwhelmingly tired during the day and feeling sick. We also had a stressful time last week understanding the results of my blood tests, but all resolved now, so can relax. Have had 12 week scan and heard baby's heartbeat which is amazing. Something which you have to look forward to!

Haven't read through your last few pages so any chance of an update?

Have been thinking of you even though haven't posted. And was glad to see Oct Buddies still there on the first page. Knew you'd all be chatting and keeping it going!

Hope you can forgive my slackness. Will check in later.

Love to you all girls.

 Hi gang,

Camilla - Its great to hear from you agian. Brilliant news from you and yes we are all jealous but so pleased for our bud.

Steph - You sound like you are moving on and coping well. Its so hard eh but what else can we do. Huge hug.

Lola - Its the 26th we start, the hospital counts it from the day my period starts. Only 5 days behind, its getting exciting again.

NEED ADVICE FROM THE BEST GIRLS I KNOW
Have been offered acupunture/reflexology through my work for free. Am allowed 6 sessions and know i should take the acupuncture as this appears to help more during ivf but does it hurt? You know what i'm like with needles and i don't think they will wait for me to apply the Emla all over haha. Do you think i should have 3 treatments of each or is it better 6 of one. Also is it better to start the treatment when you are about to stim. As i only have 6 sessions i want to do it at the best time in the cycle. Any ideas? Thanks for your advice

Take it easy

Hi Girls

Well, have read through the past month and a bit's messages and think I get the gist of what's been going on!

Steph - Was really sad for you when I read your news. It's just a knockback but it doesn't mean the end if you don't want it to be. I think you're a fantastic person and with all that energy and personality you deserve a bit of happiness.

Jen - So pleased that you can start again and I'm sure with the increase in dosage you'll be fine this time! I saw an acupuncturist before my treatment and believe it helped me. I've also had reflexology before but only the odd session. If I were you I'd speak to the reflexologist and acupuncturist separately and ask how they think they can help you. You'll be able to tell who you feel comfortable with the most if you meet them face to face. Oh, and acupunture doesn't hurt! You just feel a strange sensation when the needle first goes in. I recommend it.

Lola - Well that's brill! I am looking forward to your FET! I must have missed the results of your tests but they must have been good!

Little R - Glad to be back in touch!

I said I would be here for you during your next treatments and I'm sorry for the break in transmission but I'd love to be here for you now.

Lots and lots of love and hugs to my special girls.
