 Hi guys,

Think it's a great idea for our gorgeous DH's to have a chat.

We start our next cycle at the end of Feb then i'm sure my DH will want someone to chat too as he asked the last time but there was no men around. Will get him to have a look for support then.

Good luck to you all

Love Jen x

:? Forgot to say, Charlie77, i'm in your camp. Have tried to get the cool emoticons too but can't figure out how to do it.

When i go on the site the emoticons don't appear when you click on them. Please explain again for the less gifted in the brain department when it comes to computers.

Thanks guys

Hi Richard,

Just to explain a bit more, all my pregnancies have been through natural conception, since we lost our precious little girl, due to my then advancing years (I was 43 when she was born), we went for IVF as I thought it would be automatic, and of course it would work, because after all I'd been pregnant before - it wasn't as if I had never conceived before. It would be a piece of cake. How wrong I was. We had 2 cycles, both unsuccessful, with very poor follicle response on my part. DH's sperm was fine, but the prognosis from the consultant was that because of my age (again) my eggs were obviously poor quality (although we did end up with 2 x grade 2 embies for transfer). The clinic said that they would not consider any more treatment for us (because of my age) and recommended the only way forward for us was with donor eggs. So I'm on the waiting list in the UK, and have been for 15 months, but just recently, thanks to the wonderful girls on this site, have been considering going to either Barcelona or Kiev for egg donor treatment. Haven't quite got there yet, as it's a bit difficult to pin down DH at the mo, due to other family problems (elderly Dad being abused by his elderly wife - my stepmother, not my mum).

We will get there in the end, I am positive! Just need to tackle one thing at a time.

Richard, don't feel too bad about not having to go through all the injections, the painful ovaries, the uncomfortable proceedures and the undignafied positions we find ourselves in, after all, we could NOT do it without our DH's.

Take care ,

LOL Bev xxx

hey bev
my heart goes out to you both it must be awful
it is stupid that you have to go abroad to get donor eggs isnt it
i suppose its a lot worse now that the law has changed as far as confidentiality is concerned for the donor
charlie was up for being an egg donor when we first started out on this road and we were all ready to go ahead but we had to go for some counciling first and the lady we saw was not the nicest of people to be honest she asked a lot of very tough questions of us and in the end she said that she would reckomend that we were not ready to go ahead with donor scheme it took a while to get that all sorted out but we did in the end
chalrie decided that she wanted to be a donor but only if she could be guaranteed confidentiality so that meant we would have to do it before the law changed which we were told would be fine but in the end they took too long and the chance was lost
my guess is that a lot of women feel the same now that they only want to do it if they can be sure that there will be no come backs in the years to come
but anyway i will keep my fingers crossed for u guys and if i were you i would get on the first plane out there and get your self pregnant after all thats wot we are all striving for huh?

take care and talk soon

Jen and Richard,
Just click on this link.
You'll get to the site- when you find the smiley you want(there are loads in different categories under headings on the left hand side) click on the smiley you want , its code will appear in the box underneath all the others on the same page.
Go to the box, highlight the code, right-click your mouse, you should see copy, press copy
Now come back to this forum, to your reply box, and right-click- you should see paste, click on paste, and that code should get pasted.

Paste it in the middle of whichever sentence you want to paste it.
.
You can preview your post to see if what you did has worked.

Also,
Just go to your 'Profile' on the top in this forum, when you log in and check under preferences that 'smilies' are ON, BB code is ON that is, enabled, both in your signature, and then under your preferences.
Thats about it..

I really hope this works.

Jen,
Thats weird!
Do u see the smilies?I hope you do- do u see a narrow box below all the smilies at least? thats where the code should pop up whe u just click once on any of the smilies.
Let me know..
If its the smilies you cant see, then theres some other problem, whoch is too tech for me I"m afraid..If you can see the smilies, then we can figure it out.

Richard,
I think you need to go to your profile(top of each page of this forum), and enable BB code etc.

hope this helps,
smita

It is so great to see some many of us DH's here. My DW and I just transferred 2 blastocysts on 1/30/06. We find out on the 13th. This 2ww is just miserable. My DW refuses to believe that this is going to work since everything has failed. She also keeps thinking that every twitch of her body means her AF is going to start. I wish so much that she could transfer some positive energy to our 2 little embryos that are trying to hold on. Once again, glad to see everyone here.

Hi Nervous Hubby,

try not to worry about your DW and put twice as much positive energy in for her as well. I guess she is trying to "protect" herself in case it is negative. Speaking as one who every single month feels ALL the twinges and imagines all sorts of signs, from AF cramps to morning sickness twinges etc etc I can say that when you are so desperate to become pregnant, us gals do feel absolutely every little twinge. Just hang on in there and support each other.
Everyone here will be sending you lots of PMA and "baby dust". Does your wife post on the boards?

Take care

 Smita - Thanks for your help but think it must be a tech problem as there are no codes or smilies. Don't worry, would rather have you guys for support than some jumping smilies.

Catch up soon
