JellyBean -

I will be 6 weeks on Monday so on my first scan I will be 7 weeks and 1 day. It's so funny how we count each and every day this early on. Each day seems to make a huge difference.

I, too, have had very few symptoms except for a tremendous loss of appetite. I feel very full most of the time except for early in the morning. I'm also semi-constipated...tmi but true...but I have digestive problems to begin with so I'm not really seeing this as a symptom. The lack of symptoms had me worried up until yesterday. Now I know that despite no symptoms - something is growing!

Be careful what you ask for - I started out with very little symptoms too. First the nausea kicked in with a vengence and when that started to ease, then I started with the actual puking. Fun stuff that we do in the name of becoming moms!!

Best of luck for your scans girls!

hi guys
had the nuchal scan this morning and saw a v.lazy baby relaxing with its hand behind its head!
Caroline , wanted to thank you for your response, the scan & bloods took my age etc.. results of 1:89 for downs , down to 1:1753 chance of downs. they noted stomach, bladder, 5 fingers, 5 toes, good profile and we heard a great heart beat so im hoping to now enjoy the next 8 weeeks b4 the 20 wk scan and look forward to a laid back baby!
by the way is anybody else showing at the stage (3 months) - i seem to be expanding on the waistline quite quickly ( usually size 10) no extra weight as such , but i thought it wouldnt show until 4-5 months??
gregmbarry, totally agree with your symtoms at your stage, i also have a digestive problem ( reflux oesphagitus) but found constitation a real problem,i used syrup of figs ( only a small amount), and drank lots of water which helped. it has eased , doc said it was due to the huge amount of progestorone in your body. Reflux also has the same problem as it loosens your muscles ( including the oesph.. sphinter (?) muscle ), doubled my meds and seems alright.

Fantastic news Mandyb!

The odds sound overwhelmingly in your favour - you (and dh, of course) must be delighted. How lucky to see all the details too!

Must admit I'm really showing now - it's like a hard little melon under my tummy button. People are noticing, so it's not just my imagination either.

Take care and enjoy the next few weeks

Angeleyes -

I'm about a week behind you and it's fun to hear that you are getting symptoms. I think this whole IVF thing messes with your bodys natural reaction to pregnancy and it's kind of scarey when there are no symptoms. But it's good to hear that you are starting symptoms now!

I'm also exactly like you - work is really the last thing I want to be thinking about right now! I get to work and immediately read the boards and slowly get on to doing actual work...I think once I've seen the heartbeat on my first scan I'll settle into actually believing this is a successful pregnancy....one week to go until that though...!!

hi ladies...

well we went for out first scan and the doctor asked how we felt about twins!!!! :o :o :o i asked him if he was kidding, yes we have and A and B!!! we are so excited but know that we are not home safe yet! we have told only our parents and they are tickled pink!

gregmbarry...i am now having a few symptoms! just a little nausea here and there. i was amazed that i don't have much of an appietite either. and the costipation, i am definietly understaning that!!

mandyb... glad to hear your great news, i will keep my fingers crossed for you and your family!

kagome....sorry to hear of you sickness, i too have been in bed, but since we saw the twins my husband is ok with me being tierd all the time!!   i'm going to live it up!

angeleyes... our scan went great dispite all my felling of the transfer not working because of lack of symptoms, we have two babies!!!! both heartbeats were good, one was 108 and the other was 111... one baby was 14( i guess millimeters) and the other is 15 from bottom to top. although we could not see anthing except for the hearts fluttering it was exciting. hopefully all stays well. how are you doing??? fill me in on what you know should be happening at this stage are my numbers really ok??

take care ladies and as always keep on rubbing those bellies, oh yeah, Happy Valetines Day for those of you who celebrate!

thanks for all the well wishes! i found out news sure does travel fast, i think everyone of my family members knows, my dad is even telling people we don't know!! oh well, who can really wait until the end of the 1st trimester to tell people of such a great joy!

glad to here everyone is doing well!!!

saraid... i too was extremely nervous about our scan, we live about 45 mins away and the whole ride there i did not mutter a word to my husband, i was just praying! things will be just fine, have faith in science it is a remarkable thing! how many did you transfer??

taylorjools... thank you! all those shots are a killer, you know that! it is definately worth it. i have been reading alot and from what i can gather you should start feeling well again soon, then you will start being tierd all over again! i am already rather busty! everyone is telling me that i wont be able to find any bolder holders (bras). although the girls have been sore since i started the progesterone! good luck to you keep up the great mommie work!

angeleyes...did you get an answer on the heartrate, i would love to know? it is freezing here, we just had the biggest snow in 3 years, but sad to say it is starting to melt already! keep us posted on the status of you and your little one!

gregmbarry... thanks, it is exciting, and you are the next in line to experience it! i was sick yesterday morning, and i feel alittle sick today, but then i start to think it is all in my head! i can't wait to get an update from you in 5 days!!!

help please.... i went to the ticker factory and set one up for myself but can't seem to get it onto this web page! duh!! i know not very computer smart when it comes to the net and stuff, i just know how to type! can someone help me out!!! thanks and take care everyone!

Hello,

Question for all of you (and probably a really DUMB question at that!)

When you all are talking about how far along you are, are you counting the weeks since you had your ECs/ETs, or are you counting from LMP (last menstrual period)?

The reason I ask is that I was counting from my EC date which was 3.5 weeks ago, but the doc just called and said something about "... since you are at 5.5 weeks gestation." I understand the difference, I am just wondering though which method of calculation that most of you use when you are talking about how far along you are. Once I know, it will help me to guage what you all are experiencing at different weeks, compared to me.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Julie
