I am here to address the Tylenol. My doctor stated I could have it but with taking as little as possible before week 16. There are so many aches and pains during pregnancy, Tylenol will be come your friend. Don't be afraid of it. The other thing is that if you are getting bad headaches, also make sure you are paying attention to other things going on. Go out and get a blood pressure cuff from your local pharmacy and check your blood pressure during those times because bad headache is a sign of elevated bp. Also you will have a lot of congestion during pregnancy so it could be sinuses. Just make sure that you pay attention to the BP thing. They have digital ones you can buy so you don't have to figure it out. Also remember with twins you have to eat a lot more, so if you are not eating enough it could be a blood sugar thing. Tylenol may not be the answer every time. Hope that helps.

That helps alot actually. I was thinking blood pressure and yeah, i've been very stuffy lately. But more than anything migrains run in my family. I've been prone to them maybe once or twice a year pre pregnancy but have had two in the last 3 weeks. Not sure what's going on but I'm so afraid to take anything that might even remotely hurt the babies.

Stephanie: to answer your question I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow and I know how you feel. My last pregnancy I had a missed abortion. The baby lost the heart beat at about 11 or 12 weeks but I knew nothing about till I started to bleed at almost 15 weeks. But the baby wasn't growing right to start with. Is that how it happened with you, too?
But I could understand the you being caustious as well. I could never forgive myself if something happened to my precious twins because i did something wrong. That's why I've been suffering through the pain.

Silverangel-My gc was getting terrible headaches at the end of her first trimester and the beginning of her second trimester. I believe there were a couple of times that she did break down and take tylenol. Sorry you are having headaches. Her ob said it was caused from all of the extra blood flow going through your head. We are going to have the 3d/4d ultrasound done in a few weeks. I can't wait!!!!

Thanks so much Babyloves. I've heard from lots of people including the doctor and his nurse that it was ok, but I wanted someone to tell me that 100% it was going to have no effect on the babies and I got that from my doctor today so I can finally take something for these darn headaches.

I have a question for all the mommy's on the thread as well, any one else having that heavy uterus feeling? I fel like I have my period as far as feeling heavy down there. I have no cramps or bleeding, I just feel like i have a 2 liter bottle of soda in my uterus. Well, maybe not that dramatic but you get my drift. Any one else feel that way?
Besides that my muscles are achy under my belly, in my pubic area and my inner thighs. I also asked the nurse about this and she said that it was a growth sprut and it was my ligaments stretching. That's exciteing but the heaviness ahd got me a little worried.

Hope all you ladies and your beans are doing well, I'll have the due date list up soon. I'm still waiting on Laurafromlongisland to get back to me but she hasn't yet. If I don't hear from her soon I'll get on with making our list.

feeling good about feeling bad

Post by Literatriz »

Hi all,
Good to know things are progressing as expected...some of us crossed the 13 weeks mark (me included) and I hope the mood swings are giving away for down-to-earch nest building activities.
Thanks stephjim for bringing up the sinus and hypoglicemia as possible causes for headaches. I have been feeling as if I was in a landing plane and that may be explained by the increased amound of liquids that are circulating in my body right now...so no meds for me. As for the sugar levels, I do get better after eating fast carbs as milk and waffles.
I was hoping the second trimester would end m/s but that doesn't work for me. Anyone else still experiencing food intolerance and some stomachache?
Yes, we are stretching, moving bones and ligaments around...the volume of my belly changes, sometimes I feel OK and sometimes I can't put my shoes on without feeling I am compressing a soccer ball with my three little beannie babies inside! I guess that gas, water in the tissues and some other misterious variables add up to make us feel more pregnant than expected. I wouldn't worry about that.
My boobs started producing something yellow...the antecedent of milk. I felt SO proud, now that I am taking no meds from the IVF plan! I tried to show to DH but he wasn't so thrilled. I think he wanted just to enjoy the plus size without considering that the change is primarily for the little ones :)
Hope all is well with you, take care,
Literatriz

I hadn't put headaches and sinus trouble together - I thought it was blood traveling to my digestion after dinner.
I have huge sinus pockets that always used to plague me. I think I will pull out the neti pot and try to clean my sinuses.

Did anyone else do a CVS or did everyone do an amnio... or neither?

I did not do either one of them. I had no issues with my NT scan and bloods but I had already decided I was not going to risk it since they have to poke you twice once for each baby for the amnio and the CVS has higher chance of m/c.

Good Morning Every One. I just wanted to come on and post our happy little results. My husband and I went in for an early gender determination scan at a 3d unltra sound clinic and I am happy to report that with 85% accuracy at 13 weeks 1 day pregnant we are expecting a Boy and a Girl!!

We're so happy. That's exactly the combination that we where hoping to get and we counldn't be more thrilled.
We've started calling the babies by there names already and they seem so much more real to us now.

Congratulations Silver!! When we found out what we were having it was so exciting and real!

Is anyone feeling there babies? I have felt them so much this week and it is different than the little flutters I used to feel. I actually feel little punches and big movement now. Yesterday Evan was just laying right at the top of my skin and you could feel how hard my tummy was and my dh felt it and loved it!!

I love being pregnant in the 2nd trimester! Does anyone feels like this? I feel like I have so much more energy and overall feel better, except I am not sleeping as good as I was. My tummy is getting in the way and I can't breathe as well even when I am sleeping on my left side.

Hope everyone is feeling good!

Oh My God, Crogers. Yes to everything you said. I've been feeling little twinges since I got pregnant but I think that I'm actually feeling the babies now!!

It feels so different than what I normally feel and I just know that it's them!! I feel like I feel the "rolls" more than anything, though. And as far as sleeping I feel that too.

I've stopped sleeping on my stomach because I can feel my uterus when I lay on it and it's so uncomfortable. Even my side is getting hard to sleep on because I wake up from the pressure if I'm move just slightly onto my stomach in my sleep.

Besides that the muscle aches in my thighs, my pubic area and under my belly are the worst. They get really bad if I walk around too much so even though I do have more energy, I can't really do much becuase I'm in pain if I over exert myself.

How far along are you anyway?

Silver I am 21 weeks. I totally understand how you are feeling when it comes to over doing. My belly feels like it is going to fall off sometimes when I have been up way to much. I was telling my dh tonight that I hope I don't get so big that I can't do anything since Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up. Hopefully I can manage not to gain unnecessary weight that could contribute to that.

I am super excited to be having twins and I am so glad that I can go on here everyday and read what is going on with everyone. Even if I don't have anything to post I still like I am not alone on this amazing journey that many don't get to experience. Wow we are all so blessed!!! :)

Oh girls!!! Let me tell you. I am 31 weeks and 3 days. Enjoy that 2nd trimester because from the later part of it on, whoaaaaa!! I was taken out of work from 25 weeks on because I am a nurse. Course everyone is different but my stomach is more than double the size it was at 21 weeks and even more than that from 13 weeks. This is not to scare you, but to prepare you for what is to come. I remember being 21 weeks and thinking 31 weeks was sooo far away, but it will get her fast and then while you are sitting around waiting for 38 weeks to get here it will drag. :) Ok, it is not that bad, but I think that all this time at home is taking its toll on me. :) Congrats to everyone!!

Hi ladies...
wow some of you are really far along...how exciting! I haven't written for a while, but i'm back on now. I had my 2nd ob apt but forgot to ask if there was any issues with sleeping on your back...i've heard to avoid it afte 16 weeks...have ur Ob's told you this at all?

Anyone have any numbness in their legs? I have a lateral cutaneous fem nerve syndrome which seems to be pg related as far as my reading is concerned, but my Ob thinks it is not. Sciatica is more common.

Just wondering if anyone has had similar issues? We have so much in common that i can factor out the IVF process, shots in the butt, etc, etc.. as causes of my neuropathy
