I had my ER yesterday. RE was only able to get 5 eggs. Which is 1/2 of the amount that I got last time. I am really disappointed. Waiting to hear fert report tomorrow. Crossing my fingers that there is good on in the bunch.

hi ladies,
somebody was wondering about the implantation after the trasfer,so here waht i found:
**this is what happens in a 3dt :
**transfer day
1dpt ..embryo is growing and developing
2dpt... Embryo is now a blastocyst
3dpt....Blastocyst hatches out of shell on this day
4dpt.. Blastocyst attaches to a site on the uterine lining
5dpt.. Implantation begins, as the blastocyst begins to bury in the lining
6dpt.. Implantation process continues and morula buries deeper in the lining
7dpt.. Morula is completely implanted in the lining and has placenta cells &
fetal cells
8dpt...Placenta cells begin to secret HCG in the blood
9dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
10dpt...More HCG is produced as fetus develops
11dpt...HCG levels are now high enough to be immediately detected on
HPT

Hi all. Thank you to byrnme for starting this thread. I too am a teacher, byrnme, and just got out for the summer. I'm hoping this works! My blood work at the start cycle appointment showed high estradiol levels so I had to go on a double dose of birth control for ten days. I go tomorrow for new blood work and am hoping the levels are down and I can start Stims. I've been doing lupin since may 15. Good luck everyone! Kirsten

Hi Amy, we are almost there!!! Hope this week flys by!!!!! I started the PIO today it kind of stings or burns a bit but not too bad for the first day!!!! I was very scared  of the HUGE needle and gave the DH such a hard time but luckily it didn't really hurt. I plan on being really still the first 3 days and then careful at least till day 5 then I get resume normal activity but just taking it easy. And as they posted earlier its probably a good idea to be careful and not do much until after day 7. Well good luck to you tomorrow with the Progesterone!!!

Zintinia - thanks so much for the transfer day update very helpful! Good Luck to you on your cycle!

Flystar - Hope you are taking it easy and keeping busy on your 2 ww...sending you lots of STICKY BABY DUST!!!!

Hello All. I am new here, but wanted to have a June cycle buddy to talk to. We are waiting for AF, but are expecting to do Retrieval on June 22, and the Transfer on June 25. This is our first IVF cycle so I am a little nervous about all of this. We really need it to work this month because my husband is about to start his residency and will be on call at the hospital every 4th night starting in July. We are tentatively starting Lupron Wednesday, and Follistim 150 IU on Thursday. Anyone else thinking they will be on similar cycles?

Back again  My Er is being switched to friday instead of wednesday  I have 2 lead follicles and am unsynchronized, huhhhhh story of my life :? I can't wait till this is all over, I was hoping sooner than later. I'm irish and have no luck @ all, well maybe things will change can only hope. How is it all going for everyone else ?

lisa - Remember it only takes one to have a baby :D My DD was conceived on a clomid cycle and I had 3 eggs that cycle, so you never know. I know fro myself my #'s were higher last IVF cycle had 15 eggs retrieved and this cycle it looks like only maybe 10. I keep reminding myself It is the quality not quantity. Keep your chin up

blairwh - Welcome to the land of IVF :D It can be nerve wracking but we all come here to vent so it takes some of the stress off. I've been doing IVF to long !!!!!! It has been over a year and I've had alot of problems with meds. Sometimes your body does what it wants, or @ least mine does  Just remember to take one day @ a time and don't obsess over everything. If I would take my own advice, I would be sooo much better

I'm a little bummed because my fertility office called me today to say that my estradiol levels have gone up even more so I have to stop Lupron and birth control (was done with that anyway on Saturday) and wait for AF. Then I'll get new bloodwork to see if I have naturally high estradiol levels or if it was the Lupron and/or bcp. I am frustrated because I should have insisted that they do baseline bloodwork on me before all this began. We were convinced nothing was wrong with me and it was just my husband's counts and motility, but apparently it's more. Has anyone else experienced high estradiol levels from bcp or Lupron? I haven't even gotten to the stims yet so I hope this isn't a sign of more trouble to come. Kirsten

Just saw RE for first ultrasound after being on follistim and menopur since Wednesday. Last IVF I dealt with the nurse practioner who was always so positive and stating that everything was as it should be. We have increased my follistim and menopur this IVF and my RE (the NP is on vacation) said he was only seeing 6-7 follicles and maybe some hidden in the back and they were all small. He is having me hold off on ganirelix til Wednesday and said my retrieval may be pushed back a day but will know more Friday. I'm just wondering if he is just more blunt and maybe this is the same as last IVF OR could it really be different this time. But if so I should have still had more follicles since I have increased my dosage.......I guess we will see on Friday. Maybe her (NP) being off may help me get the special care from the RE....who knows. I really like my NP too!

Well saw the RE for baseline ultrasound today- things look great with my ovaries (which is surprising considering history of cysts, and stimulation last month). RE said to call once AF started so I could start Lupron and get baseline bloodwork. NP is who I normally see and is out on vacation so I'm guessing I am at the same place as KYWildcat just from reading the post. Maybe it will end up a good month for both of us!!

I have gone in for b/w and US for 5 out of the 7 last days. I got a call from one of the nurses today and they told me that my ER will be on Wednesday :D I took the trigger shot today promptly at 4:30 like I was told  At this point if they told me to stand on my head I think I would do it. From what I can tell from the US, there seems to be a lot of follicles. We will find out on Wednesday. So things are moving along, and I am happy with everything so far. Baby dust to everyone! Have a great week!

blairwh58, that's awesome that we are probably at the same clinic. I really like everyone at the facility. I'm usually wore out by the time I get there since I have a 2.5 hour drive to and from the facility. I just hope everything works this time. I hope all goes well with you too! Who knows, we may even see each other in the clinic and just not know it. Funny! Anyways, I'll keep checking on everyone but especially you! Good luck to everyone!

Kim - Story of my life !!!!!!! I've been cancelled x 2 cycles, never could suppress on lupron. Had to do antagonist protocol with ganarelix. It is more expensive, shorter cycle and less needles. Sometimes my baseline E2 would be high. My testosterone is high also. My E2 went to 6000 before retrieval. My E2 levels always have to be closely monitored, cause they go out of control. I've been told my body reacts like a PCOS patient but I don't actually have it. If you have any questions just ask :)

Hi! Hope you all don't mind my popping in here. This will be my second IVF, and it looks like I will be right about on the same dates as blairwh58. I started Lupron today, and will be on 150 follistim and 1 menopur.

My story is long, and it's been rough, but we are ready to try again after loss. Look forward to getting to know you all. Good luck to us all. :D

Well its good to know I will have a similar cycle as you mellow4. Still no AF yet but I know she will be here soon enough. I went ahead and ordered my Lupron in hopes of needing it today or tomorrow. At this point I was excited to get a few days off from all the shots. I had been doing the progesterone injections with the last cycle, and was finally told I could stop doing those and stop taking the estrogen for a little while.

KyWildcat- Sorry you have to drive so much to get to the clinic. I ended up deciding on them because I didnt want to go to the public hospital and had heard only good things from them. We were actually referred there by my husbands Urologist. And youre right- everyone at the office is beyond nice, and you actually feel like they care about you. Not to mention they know exactly who you are as soon as you walk in the door which makes you feel better. Even though it stinks having to go through all this I know that they are all rooting for us. I even have a friend who did IVF 5 times there with no success (some failed attempts and miscarriages) but she would still recommend them to anyone. I was even lucky enough to get some of her left over meds from her last cycle (she ended up pregnant) and saved myself close to $1000. This time we are on our own for the meds though. Good luck and I cannot wait to hear more updates.

Hey byrnme! Congrats on doing the retrieval today!! Where did you say you were having it...River North or Highland? I hope everything went well for you today!!!

I went in yesterday and they said I will probably have the retrieval sometime this weekend!!! I have about 19 follicles and they all seem to be about the same size which I guess is good!!! It can be hard to understand all the medical stuff they are saying sometimes. This time I had them print out a report so I can actually take time to look at the information! Started getting really bad nausea and bad headaches so I guess the side effects finally kicked in!! I started seeing an acupuncturist and I think that really has been helping me relax!!

I hope everyone else is doing well...it seems that most people are moving right along!!! :D
