Joanne, sorry to hear you are bleeding. I note that you’ve not yet gone in for a beta test to measure your levels of HCG and really recommend you do this. My clinic too let you test at home with a HPT, but then tell you to come in if you get a +ve as during the first weeks of pregnancy blood tests are the only way to safely monitor you (as you may know, IVF ladies are slightly more prone to ectopics).

Many ladies do bleed during the pg without problems though, but for your own peace of mind I would ring your clinic now and get yourself in for a blood test.

Fingers crossed for you,

Nicola

Nicki

Yes I tested +ve on Sunday, life is very cruel

Nicola

One of the "problems" with my clinic is that the test they give you to do is a urine test, which they would do their too (you have the choice of doing it at home or arranging to go there), when I phoned them on Monday to say it was positive and when was I having bloods she asked me "why do you want bloods taken, you've had a positive, what more proof do you need?" - what can you do but take their word for it??

I feel very let down by my clinic, called them at 8.30 and no one has phoned me back yet. My dh has had to go out this morning and will be back by 12 so he has said if they haven't been on phone before that we are just going down. But yes I agree they should do bloods - at least if it had been a low positive I might have been more prepared for this?? As it is I've been living in blissful ignorance for that last few days.

I will give you all an update when I can and thank you for being supportive

Joanne

Joanne I am hoping everything is ok with you. I'm sorry to hear about your clinics attitude. There are many reasons you could be bleeding but some people just do. Take care of yourself and really get on your clinics case. You payed too much financially and emotionally to have them treat you like that. Keep us posted and try to think positive.

Hi Everyone,

Joanne - I am so sorry to hear your news, what a blow. Take care, cry lots and be gentle with yourself :(

Sand: My test date is 16/17 - I'm confused - if I count Aug 3 ET as Day 1 then its August 16th - if I add 14 days to August 3 its August 17th so I shall test on both days. Any advice welcome.

This 2ww is torture with lots of highs and lows. I'm full of henrietta hormones and vary from crampy to bloated to nausea to having no strange symptoms. PMA is very difficult to hold onto as I am at heart a realist but I did choose to go on this journey knowing the statistics so of course there is alwas the hope that you can defy them!!

Wishing everyone who is testing this weekend +ives. I'm off to buy a batch of HPT's in ever colour as my clinic asked me to do HPT first as I live outside London.

Joanne - I am so, so sorry this has happened to you both. So unfair. Not right now, but I hope that in time you can see some positive things from this cycle - ie. you can get pregnant.

Pls take care. Lots of thoughts are with you ..
