Hi guys.
I am so happy to be here!!! Like many of you I have been reluctant to post over here until I was further along but I now realize that I had better try to leave the negative thoughts and fear behind.
My husband and I are having twins!!! We transferred three embies on 19 March; HCG level of 225 on 31 March (12dpd4t with ICSI and PGD); HCG level of 1900+ on 3 April; and two sacs, two babies, and two heartbeats on 13 April. Now we are just in Heaven!!! (As evidenced by how many exclamation marks are in this note!!!)
As for symptoms, I have had extreme nausea and queasiness for the last three weeks. It started somewhere around week six. At first, I just thought, "Wow, that gum has a very strong smell." Within two days, everything smelled too strong, including garlic and onions, our Dove bath soap, anything containing more than a trace of oil, and my husband's Extra brand gum (I think the culprit is the artificial sweetener). I went from cooking almost every night to only wanting to eat cucumbers (they smell so clean and fresh), bread, crackers, and frozen waffles (Oh my God, they have partially hydrogenated oil in them and I am chowing them down). So, we have been eating takeout and frozen waffles for three weeks straight. Slowly, but surely, the nausea is tapering off a bit. I actually made a veggie burger for lunch. But, I am still extremely sensitive to the smell of garlic and onions. Ugghhh, just the thought!!!
And my last significant symptom is that I must eat at least every two hours (unless I am sleeping). On Saturday, my husband and I had lunch and a mere two hours later, I was saying that I was hungry. He totally made the mistake of saying, "Already? We just ate!" After I lectured him at length (well, not really at length...I mean I had to get to making lunch#2), he promised that he would stop making comments like that. I am happy because I don't think that the constant food parade is about to stop.
I'm happy to be here. And I hope that my ticker works. : )
