Hi Everyone! I've missed you all so much!!! I have been a bit busy at work (boooo), and away on the weekends, so have only just caught up on where everyone is at.

I can't believe all these late bumpers....I well and truley have a bump & half of me is so happy and love the bump more that anything, and the other half of me thinks I am way too big too early, and will end up as big as a house if I keep growing at this rate....

It's a bit funny, this in between stage. I keep reading through for new news from people, but I guess it is just in cruise control mode for now. I think from what everyone has said, they will be finding out the sex. We will too, but wont tell any of our friends or family. It is not the done thing here in Australia, and everyone gives you their 2 cents on why you shouldn't find out. DH & I can't wait. And we have such a gut feeling that he's a boy, that I will need to find out to get used to the fact that he is a she before it's born!

I think I may have felt some 'flutters' too, though I can't be 100% sure it wasn't gas! But it really felt like something different.

I hope everyone is well - maybe we should start a little 'finding out the sex' scan list, so we can track what everyone is having. I will start it off - please add your name!!!

Bella - scan 29 June (sex ?????)

Hi Ladies,

Great to see that everyone is progressing well and starting to enjoy their bumps.

I had my booking in appointment at the hospital last week, it all seems quite real now, although i am still scared stiff, can't wait to get to the 20 week scan. My blood pressure was raised slightly so i have to go back in 3 weeks for it to be checked. Life at work is quite stressy, as i have a looney for a boss but all is coming to a head (at last) with the senior management team being involved, so hopefully that will be sorted very soon.

How is everyone doing? Mel - I hadn't even thought about going over to the 2nd tri, seems so weird.

Wishing you all the very best

love

Eek! More details please on exactly what the baby flutters feel like, am desperte to feel the "popcorn popping" or the "bubbles through straws! Kirsti, what does it feel like EXACTLY!!!! Anyone else feeling movement??

Bella know what you mean ... its been a long inbetween stage, I think the fact not everyone at work knows and walking around office trying to suck my gut and wear not TOO tight clothes ... just feel kind of odd with this inbetween bump ... kind of just want to let it all hang out ... but like you Bella I feel like I shouldnt have this huge pot roast just yet!! ANd dont have my scan date yet ... bloomin midwife forgot she had an appointment with me so am waiting to reschedule last weeks vistit and scan booking!

Sue sorry bout your loony boss. U probably dont need the stress. At least you wont be working for a while in 6 months (yee hah!). I feel much more comfortable now, but oddly enough hearing yesterday that my friend had just had a baby, made me come over all odd, kind of panicky of all of a sudden that still have 6 mths to go before can be sure its going to be okay.

Mel, I'm trying to come up with the perfect words to describe it to you. It doesn't feel like gas because it feels further out, instead of in your intenstines or actual stomach. You can tell it's not your regular body parts doing things (gas, stomach growling, etc). It comes from a different place in your stomach, so to speak. Which makes sense.

Fluttering or corn popping are good terms to describe it. When I feel it my instinct is to go "ouch" and touch it. But it doesn't hurt...it just feels so weird that I react like that. You can't touch your stomach and feel it that way (at least not yet)...it's alittle deeper....like the baby is getting big enough that you can feel it move around. So it doesn't feel like the baby is kicking you....just small fluttering movements. It's only happening a few times a day...so it's not something that happens often yet. Oh, and it also only seems to happen when I'm sitting still.

That's my best attempt!!

Sue & Bella, glad to hear all is well with both of you too!

I hope everyone is doing well..Sue I am sorry about your boss and the unnecessary stress..but think positive you won't have to deal with work in about 6 months :D
Mel and Kristi - I have had 'tapping'from the inside...I don't feel it all the time and it definitely isnt't gas. I haven't stepped in baby stores yet either..scared to death...but I have been checking things on the internet..mainly what is available and the prices. Unfortunately we are in an in between stage for houses so we will not have a proper nursery until our house in Italy is finished (which will be about 2 years  )....so I can't even do a cute nursery which makes me pretty sad. I am really excicted because in August I am going to the US for a week..family visit but I can't wait to do some shopping and finally eat some good Tex Mex!! My next scan is this Thursday and I will discuss the next options for testing (amnio or no amnio?)...oh I can't wait to see the baby again :D :D

Hi girls! I have been on vacation since the 18th and have been reading over your posts from the last week. I, too, can't seem to get enough of mexican food these days. Glad I'm not the only one!

I do plan to find out the sex - but my gut tells me it's a boy. Don't really know why.

Vacation was great - I actually dropped a few pounds after the progesterone shots stopped. I was very surprised to find that my pants were actually looser on me this morning. Also swam and exercised and ate healthy all week - and slept A LOT!! I had gained about 8 pounds - now I am about 4 pounds up, which is more where I should be right now. My m/s is a little better - but the new thing is terrible, terrible headaches. I never get headaches - so this is a new thing for me. I am still thrilled to be pregnant and loving every minute of it. My mom and I spent a day at the outlet malls on vacation buying maternity clothes and, yes, I did venture into the baby store and bought some onesies, booties, blankets, and toys. I felt like it was too soon to be buying and that scared me - I know you all know what I mean. But my mom was encouraging me and I couldn't resist all the cute little things. Seems like I have been waiting for so long to be able to buy. And the lady that worked at the store was asking me all about my pregnancy, and she added me to a mailing list and it just keeps hitting me "wow - I really am pregnant!" Don't know if I will ever get used to the idea since I spent so long thinking it would not happen. It's so amazing!

Maternity jeans are the best - aren't they? And I found some that are cute enough that I will probably wear them afterwards. Elastic waists are the way to go! lol!

I am glad you are all doing well - I thought about you often while I was away and I love reading your posts. Seems I can relate to just about everything you are all going through.

Have a great day! :D

Lisa - Welcome back, really pleased you had a good vacation

Tracii - That's all i keep thinking about is my maternity leave, i am going to keep her in the dark as long as possible  Just imagine all the shopping you can do in the US, but remember how much excess baggage costs!!!! How exciting, you get to see your little babe again. I have got another 5 weeks to go before i get to see bubble again :(

KristiA - enjoy the popcorn popping!!!

Mel - Hope you feel the bubbles soon, i dont think i have felt anything either. Will try and pay closer attention. Hoping your M/W sorts the scan out soon. It is mad isn't it? I'm the same as you, can't relax at all, but then on the other hand, i think i am nearly half way there, which seems very scarey. Saturday, Sunday and Monday evening i had the tiniest bit of red blood, just on wiping (once each day) and it is really unsettling. I really wish i knew what it was but the hospital are not concerned.

It is exciting though, seeing how everyone is progressing.

love

Sue, your minor bleeding is nothing...but I know you can't help but worry. The red stuff was always our enemy while trying to conceive!

Lisa, I think you are right on. I used to live in the baby depts and now I don't dare go in them? We've waited years for this time in our life...we ought to be shopping in them a lot! I'm going to take your motivation and set a goal for myself to step foot into a store sometime this week. I'm not promising to buy though. :)

Tracii, have fun at your scan Thursday!!! I might not have a scan on Thurs now. I'm getting the Nuchal results, but the nurse said the doc usually waits until 20 weeks for the next scan. Even with twins? Darn! So I might be up for another month wait along with the rest of you. Which means another month wait to find out the gender. Bummer!

Hi everyone!

Well I officially grauated from my RE last Thur. YEAH! And baby is now measuring 2 days bigger than his official dates. Before he was 2 days behind. I was so happy to see good growth. Ofcourse now I'm wondering...is it too much? The constant worrier. He has quite the belly on US. Also, the Re mentioned he saw a "hint of a boy" so we'll see if my dh's and my instinct is correct.

You poor dears with your head aches. I've only had a couple, but they are bloody murder. Ice packs really help me to numb the throbbing. My biggest complaint now is this nasty round ligament pain I have. Sometimes I even walk with a limp it gets so bad. Anyone know of a good remedy?

2 days ago I had butterflys in my stomach like I was going on a roller coastaer. They are very subtle, but definatley present. I couldn't feel any tap or movement though. That must be the most incredible feeling. HOw soon can we feel that?

Sue, I'm so sorry you had a nasty red blood sighting. Nothing is more worriesome, but without cramps it is sooo common. My RE was so relaxed with my 3 weeks of spotting and baby looked great with every US. I even had more than spotting on several occasions. It could easily be cervical bleeding as that area becomes highly vascular (lots of blood vessels) during pregnancy and bleeds easily (especially after sex )

Congrats on your new bump Tracii! I'm letting it all hang out since my 12 week scan. Today, a client asked if I was expecting and I was thrilled!! Ok, I'm droaning on and will stop. Huge hugs to everyone! :D

Are we supposed to move to the 2 tri site? I think all of us are close to being there, if not already. I really love our group and don't want to split up!!

Lisa - I have had really bad headaches too. I have never really had headaches in the past (except after a few vinos the night before), but the headaches I have been getting over the last 4 weeks or so I would almost call migraines. It's terrible. I have also had really bad lower back pain.

Daly - congrats on graduating!!! I can't believe they could see a hint of the sex at 13 weeks - how exciting!!!

Kristi - let us know how your Nuchal results are. Bummer about no scan until 20 weeks. I wish I was like Tom & Katie & be able to buy an ultrasound machine at home for when we want to see the baby!! I just keep looking at the 12 week photo & kiss it!! (so sad....)

Sue - what a bummer about your boss. Luckily, my boss is great, although I am got some big projects just starting, and will have to go to Manila, Philippines in 2 weeks. Not looking forward to that... How long will you take off for your maternity leave?

Lisa - what a good idea...shopping with your mum! I think I will do that. Nothing like your mum to get your excitement levels up!

Nothing else exciting happening here... getting bigger, closer to finishing work, and now 4 weeks away from next scan when we find out whether it is a he or she!!

Hi All,

Weird with the headache thing, as have been having them too this week, although nothing sounding as bad as you guys.

Bella I am told to book my scan anytime after June 20th ... so tomorrow I will be on the phone at 9am trying to get an appointment on morning of the 20th! Will be cool to have the 20th week scan list and maybe then we are big and ugly enough to trot over to 2nd tri. (8 wks too late he he!)

Am kindof agonisiing over whether or not to find out the sex!!! Most of me definately wants too, but theres that bit that for some odd reason says I shouldnt! Weird. I asked the midwife if the wives tales around high heart beats (over 140 bpm) meaning a girl had any truth, and she reckons yes in her experience there is a correlation! But that the grey area is in the 140 - 150 area. That would mean I am having a girl!!! I feel like I am having a girl, but when I close my eyes and see the face of little bub its a boy .... so am confused!!

2 people said to me today I looked huge for 4 months (well okay they said big not huge!) one of them being my midwife  so dont know whether to be nonchalent or worried! Feel like I shouldnt be showing so much yet ... though doesnt stop me sticking my belly out when wandering around town just for fun :? (tell me am not the only one doing this!) what if theres a big oversized baby in there!! How is s/he going to come out!!

Take care all

Mel - So tomorrow you will have your scan date, how exciting. Mine is not until 3rd July, seems ages away. Does yourDH want to find out the sex ? I have had that thought about a whopper baby trying to get out  , i'm sure it's one of those re-ocurring worries with preg women, with their 1st child.

Bella - Hoping the headaches clear up soon, so sweet that you kiss the scan photo. Every so often i will look through them all, it still seems very unreal sometimes. I will be taking 6 months off, providing i am better off working, will have to look into that nearer the time. When will you be finishing work?

Daly - It must seem great to finally graduate, hoping the remaining months go smoothly.

Tracii - Hope you enjoy the time tomorrow seeing your babe.

Kristi - Enjoy looking in the baby stores, i must say i can't avoid looking everytime i go near a shop with baby things. I have bought a few little bits so far.

Lisa - I also think we are having a boy, i don't know why though, as we would both love a girl, although as long as its fine, we will be very happy. We want to keep it a surprise though.

I'm fine got an appointment with the midwife tomorrow to check my bloodpressure, should be fine since i am off work for a week !!!

love

So it seems like there's 7 of us that are on this thread most often. And ironically I think we're all in our 2nd trimester w/ due dates within a couple weeks of each other. I have a feeling we're going to continue to get to know each other well through our pregnancies! This is fun!

I met a lady 2 months ago and gave her my left over meds. So I've talked to her everyday on the phone since then helping her through her first cycle. Today she got a BFN. I'm so sad for her. It reminds me again how blessed each of us are to be pregnant right now.

PS.....Yes, Mel, I admit I stick out my belly too!

Hi ladies! Just a quick stop to say hi. Headache still getting to me today - it is unusually hot and humid in Ohio right now - and we have some major storms on there way right now. I keep thinking I will feel some kind of relief after that - may sound silly but I always get aches and pains when the barometer is dropping.

My little sis is 14 weeks - she got to hear heartbeat yesterday and it was in the upper 160s! Of course we are thinking - could it be a girl? Then she told me that her sis-in-law had 2 girls and 2 boys and the heartbeat was always exactly the same with all 4 of them. Guess there really is no way to tell until we see the you-know-what on the u/s (for those of us who want to know).

Daly - you felt movement!! How exciting! :D

Krista - yes we are all very close in due dates, etc. Pretty soon we can just all move over to 2nd trimester thread together!

Hi to Traci, Bella, Sue, Danielle, and anyone else I may have missed. Enjoy your bumps and your "hugeness" as I am!

Speaking of due dates - I would like to vent about a conversation I just had with the office manager at my attorney's office. She knows my whole history and everything because we talk pretty regularly. Anyway - I just told her today I am pregnant and she was very excited. She asked when I am due and I told her Dec. 21. Then she said "oh that is just a horrible time to have a baby. My daughter had one last Dec 22 and it was awful".
CAN YOU BELIEVE SHE SAID THAT? I mean, maybe I am just hormonal, but I was mad. I just said "well we feel pretty blessed regardless of our due date" and she was like "oh, of course". I, personally, think Christmas is a wonderful time to have a baby - for a lot of reasons.

Ok - done venting now. This was supposed to be a quick note and I always end up going on and on...lol!!

Lisa,

It's so funny what people who have no idea how difficult it can be to get pregnant say. My friend is 28, and 8 months pregnant with her second. They fell pregnant with their first on their hoenymoon. Anyway, she was happy having the 2 close together because her goal was to not be pregnant or breast feeding on her 30th birthday. Seems so surreal to have such goals... I will be 6 months pregnant at my 30th, and I can't wait!

I think Christmas is a lovely time to have a baby, and every year, when he/she gets older, they will have so much fun with their friends on their birthday because everyone is in such a holiday mood!

Sue - it seems like a long time til your scan, and you're already 17 weeks. Don't you get a 18-20 week scan?

Mel - I know what you mean. Everytime they gave me dates on when I can book in scans/appointments, I have always gone for the first possible day. You know what....our babies will be over their due date just to teach us a lesson in patience!!!

Kristi - I'm so sorry your friend got a BFN. Everytime I hear about a BFN it brings back all those awful memories. I hope all goes well for her next cycle.
