MLG - people in portugal work UPTO their labour date? Cripes! I probably would too if I wasnt scared of dropping early. The more can work upto edd the longer can afford to stay off after work after. Hope your feeling better too. I think the immunity system gets a bit attacked when we get PG, I had a bout of really bad flu too, and were not the only ones it sounds like.


Tracii - indeed! Bring on the cotton maternity house gears! With much pride (and more to the point comfort at being able to breathe again) Wore my first pair of maternity (checked shorts ) today. Wow did you get to see the baby sucking thumbs! How cute that must have been! Worth a couple of eye styes ... but do hope you feel better after lounging out a little

Sue - its called "preggy mush brain" or something isnt it Back in the day I heard woman could steal groceries (or lipsticks) from the local supermart and not get fined by virtue of their being pg (Germany ... last century ... true? tracii??) ... so guess we can let you send a message a few times and get dates mixed up

Laura Lou - congratulations on your BFP, I am sure that your results are fine. My clinic sent me a graph showing different rates of acceptable doubling, I checked your numbers and dates which looked fine on the slower "doubling" curve.

Hi again - Mel P has updated the 2 tri thread with big scan dates and guessing of sex. I have updated my info too. It will be really interesting to see if our guesses on sex are correct.

Oh...I did buy some baby clothes last week..unisex...I couldn't help myself...I bought them from a french company Le Petit Bleu or something like that..super soft cotton with cute little rabbits.

Mel, Yes I'm scarred out of my mind, We'll most likely have to do amnio, because of our genetic background. They told me I'm extremly high risk, and will no doubt be premature, and C- section. The C-section we knew. We're just hoping to be able to go until the lungs are developed. We're praying that they're and myself stay healty! We will be finding out the sexes, it makes shopping alot easier. Wish you all well!!!

Since Mel & Tracii took the plunge to the 2nd trimester thread, I'm following too! I guess after 5 or so weeks into the 2nd T, it's about time.

Good luck to the 1st T ladies that are staying here. Like Dottie...congrats on the triplets! Wow! And I thought twins put me in shock. Everything that I think I'll need double of, you are going to need triple.

I had a doc's appointment today & heard the munchkin's heartbeat for the first time. I loved it!! So good to know he's still going well

I just spent hundreds of dollars worth of maternity clothes!!! It's a bit excessive, but it is winder here, and it's getting near impossible to find clothes in my wardrobe that fit me!

Hello to those of you ladies that are still with me in the first trimester! Sammylou - about your symptoms, I wouldn't worry. They are supposed to taper off toward the end of the first tri. My tiredness is mostly gone. The only thing I have now are bad headaches and the urgency to pee every 20 minutes.

Dottie - as far as how to switch over to another thread - you will see a thread on the "pregnant after treatment" forum called "2nd trimester bump buddies" (I think), and you can just post there instead of here once you hit 13 weeks.

I hit 12 weeks tomorrow - so I guess I will only be here for another week. It's a good thing to keep moving on though so I am happy.

I can't wait until we all have our babies and we can share pictures!!

it's lovely to read all these nice threads. i havent posted in a while after my scare with bleeding etc. but we have two strong heartbeats. our twins had grown from 1mm to 7mm in a week (had 2nd scan over a week ago) and so happy


feeling very sick ALL day and throwing up 2 or 3 times a day - but it's strangely comforting! Hope it does go at 12 weeks, is that right?

Made my first appointment with a midwife. SO excited!!

When can a scan tell the sex?

Lumi, congrats on the twins!! I have twins also. I was sick a lot too in the beginning. At week 14 it all went away. I had my full energy back, felt great and am loving the 2nd Trimester! So yes, there is an end in sight for you (hopefully anyway).

You can tell the sex usually between 18-20 weeks. Sometimes if you have extroverted babies (as they say) they might be able to tell alittle earlier, like weeks 16-17. I'm having a 20 week scan and will find out the genders.

I was 8 weeks yesterday. I have another doctor appointment tomorrow with another obgyn. They've handled triplets before. Which is good, but if they feel that I'm also too high of a risk they're also going to send me somewhere else. which will be further a drive I think it'll be about 1 1/2 hours. My family is so excited. and also concerned of course! My boss is putting me in a different department in the store which is very little stress. This way I won't have to deal with the customers, and I won't be in charge of so many cashiers. I can't wait! It'll be like being on a vacation.

Thanks for the reassurance Lisa I haven't really had the peeing thing yet.........I guess that will arrive shortly.

Lumi - Glad all is well with the twins - are you still on meds? I think my symptoms disappearing may have coincided with stopping the progesterone - the nurse said that the extra hormones can make you pretty sick.

Wish I could change depts Dottie - I run a business with my DH (which has the obvious ups and downs ) and he's turned into a slave driver recently, I reckon he's trying to make up for the work I won't be able to do once the little one arrives!

Hello everyone!

I got my BFP on the 1st June but I haven't dared post on this thread yet, thought I might be tempting fate or something

I'm in my 6th week now and the clinic are still testing my HCG every 2/3 days - it seems to be really high so I'm wondering if it might be twins Either way I will be pleased!!!

I haven't really suffered from any major symptoms yet, I had some mild twinges in my belly and I've still got quite a bit of a belly from all the drugs but my cravings have just begun! It was chicken last week (I went off meat a year ago and have been veggie since) and this week it's creamy cheesey food - my worst nightmare usually! Although its quite disorientating I'm loving it and am giving in to every whim

We are all so lucky to get BFPs!!

My HCG levels were high at first too and I thought twins. Turns out its one healthy bean - and I am thrilled!!
