Danica
Just wanted to add my congratulations to you and DP.
I had a similar experience with sepicaemia after my 3rd attempt and very nearly didn't do a 4th which would have been a shame as we conceived twins that time and now 2 years on I am so glad we kept on with the treatment.
As you say NEVER give up on your dreams!
I hope you and your DP enjoy living yours! They way you feel now just gets stronger and stronger as your baby grows. I still feel just as excited about my children as the day I found out I was pregnant!

belinda!! of course i remember u, i remember when u were still pregnant with your baby - now lil annie is 10months old?!!! WOW time does fly! i was in qld visiting my sister a few months ago, i love it!

em, sorry about your failed icsi, its so hard... the only thing different this time (apart from the doc/hosp!) was that they put me on antibiotics just before the procedure and 5 days after the procedure to prevent the same disaster happening again. the antibiotic thing is not something they do here in australia whereas i think its compulsory in other countries... apart from that the whole experience was different mainly coz i didnt get violently ill like last time altho i must say my attitude somehow changed.. for example... last time i read heaps as well, kept lighting candles and just being neurotic about it (like thinking i couldnt sleep on my side coz i'd squish the embryos and thinking i was going to pee the embryos out etc eek) whereas this time i pretty much carried on like normal and treated it as a 'natural life event'... of course i still watched what i ate etc...
people told me that i'd get there, but i never believed them and now, so far its true so Em, think positive and altho we have a lil help in the process its still a natural life event and i dont see why it shouldnt work for all of us!

ellie, my goodness, and i thought i was the only one - u know how rare it is to get septicaemia from this! i take it they didnt give u antibiotics? where are u? so glad u survived it as well, did u have an operation and a drainage pipe etc? how long were u in hosp? hey, i wish we had the same odds with the lotto lol which in a way we did coz getting pregnant is like winning the lotto!! congratulations on your twins - double wow!! :D

randa, of course i remember u too and your good wishes when i was sooo down, again thanku :D

I am treated in London and they did apparently give me antibiotics! It went undiagnosed for ages and they controlled the infection after 2 weeks, let me out then did an op 2 months later when I was stronger and then the realised what had caused the infection! I had to have another op 3 months later and took 6 months off work then only went back part time. just under a year later I went back to the clinic and got my positive result!
As you say it does feel like winning the jackpot doesn't it!!!!

ellie, u had it rough too u poor thing - im glad we're over it coz it took a whole lot out of me both physically and emotionally... so they know what actually caused yours then? what was it? the hospital where it happened were at a loss as to what happened to me, they put it down to one of those really rare things but the new hospital said that what mite have happened was at egg collection they mite have perforated my bowel which leaked causing an abcess in my ovary and coz it was left for a week i ended up with septicaemia... i probably should have looked into it more coz im still getting medical bills and it happened 6 months ago!! but anyway ive paid them all now and when i got the last bill 2 weeks ago i rang the hospital and they said that was the last of them! it better be cos DH is still sooo pissed at them that he wanted to ring them - probably not a good idea eek!
so what are your twins' names? how exciting!
