I feel as if someone has pumped my stomach up or put a football in there. I am so bloated and uncomfortable. Also feel very unsociable, want to curl up in a corner and not talk to anyone. Its not just me that feels like that is it
Ivf21 hope you are feeling a bit better today

oh no gailp not at all, I always feel mighty unsociable and want to curl up too. It's such a strange feeling and you can't describe it to friends they just don't understand
ivf21 - oh you poor thing - I cried lots on my last IVF cycle. It just comes from no where doesn't it? Last time DH was away on business and I had just been talking to him on the phone. He sent our bestman and bridesmaid around to cheer me up. Poor bestman, when I opened the door to him I was bawling my eyes out and couldn't stop for about 20 mins - he didn't know what to do! It is so ridiculous it just comes in waves.
You are not alone, we just need to curl up and cry in a corner together but in a positive supportive way

Just occurred to me that i have a couple of bits of advice for this thread.
My headaches on buserelin were greatly eased by drinking plenty of water but the other thing I found, which may apply to others here, is that I think the headaches were caffeine withdrawal! I found that when i absolutely could not shake a headache, a cup of weak coffee did the trick! Now don't make a habit of it because caffeine is BAD BAD BAD but if a persistent headache is leaving you really low, I think it's worth a try. Others may disagree but even the recent research on caffeine and miscarriage found that low levels of caffeine actually decreased the risk of miscarriage! Anyway - remember its up to you, I did get a BFN! - don't sue me!
The second thing is, you get less bruising, and less pain, on injections if you turn the needle as it goes in. I would just place it on top of my skin and turn the needle whilst pressing very gently and it just slips in. I found the best spot was a third of the way round the top of my thigh, just where the bony/muscly bit starts to change to that inner thigh flabby bit. It was definitely less painful there than anywhere else. This is definitely much better than my slightly dodgy caffeine advice!
amfy - I agree I agree - I think my headaches were caffeine withdrawal.
I will try the turning of the needle. A sharp slap on the leg works too it takes the sting away from the needle and hurts where you slap!
Thigh definately seems better than tummy. At the moment I am not alternating between legs. They all go in my right leg as it is not bruising. My left leg looks black and blue and I haven't injected in there for about a week!

I also did the injection in my thighs (less pain) , I never bruised... and I was pinching my skin real hard before and while injected, and had no pain whatso ever.
Take care'

I wanted to share a trick I learned to make those nasty progesterone shots tolerable. I place an ice pack over the injection site (hip)for about 15 min. Until it is good and numb to the touch. AFterwards my dh rubs the site for 15 min until it is good and warm. Sounds like quite a production I know. But, if we skipped the rubbing, I'd be sore and practically limping on that leg! I've never tried skipping the ice. Too scary!
I also do the pinching trick like Souris mentioned. Helps lots.
Happy needle poking!
