Hey Ladies--

I just can't believe how many of you are having Twins! I hope next week at my u/s I can join you! I have a prenatal visit tomorrow....I'm not really sure what I am doing at it, but I'm excited to go to the office pregnant! Then I can set up my u/s, I will be 7 weeks on Sunday, so I hope I can schedule for Monday. Dont worry Gennessa, I feel nothing either! I little heartburn and sleepiness, but no ms, sometimes I feel just yucky, but not ms. My mom never had any sickness, so I'm hoping I'm like her, although it would make me feel better if i was sick :) I am headed to the beach tomorrow for the weekend, hope everyone has a nice 4th of July!

Hi Girls,
Here are the books I got off of Amazon for twins. I have been using them in conjunction with What to Expect and Your Pregnancy Week by Week.
The first one is set up by every four weeks and is simple and informative though not as thorough as the other two. #1 also has all these interviews with twin moms and dads about how it was when they brought them home, nursing, etc. which are fun to read:
1. Twins! Pregnancy, Birth and the First Year of Life by Connie Agnew, MD, Alan Klein, MD and Jill Alison Ganon
2. The Multiple Pregnancy Sourcebook by Nancy Bowers, RN, BSN
3. Everything You Need to Know to Have a Healthy Twin Pregnancy by Gila Leiter =, MD

Hope you are all doing well!

Girls, have a happy long weekend!

Many of you are going to the beach. Oh, how I envy you. I will be studying (at least trying to). My midterms are next week.

It's almost midnight, but I wanted to let you all know how my ultrasound went today. Today, I had my third ultrasound. Everything looked good. The baby measured on target at just over 7 weeks and the heart rate was 143bpm, which the doctor said is excellent. It was exciting to see my little bean again and to watch the heartbeat. They gave me two more pictures. I was amazed at how much the baby grew since my first ultrasound one week ago. My ovaries are still swollen, although a lot of the fluid went down. The doctor said my ovaries will probably remain swollen for the next couple of weeks. So, I have to continue to take it easy (minimal activity) for the remainder of the first trimester and continue to drink plenty of fluids (especially Gatorade).

Today's appointment was my last with this doctor. So, we hugged and said our 'so longs' and she expects to hear from me on her birthday on Feb 14th, which is when the baby is due. All subsequent appointments will be with my OB. I look forward to my next ultrasound...I really enjoy seeing my little bean! :-)

I'll have to catch up on all of the posts tomorrow. I'll post more personals then. Take care ladies!

Good morning, I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! Mine was very eventful to say the least. I spent most of the night at the ER. Yesterday afternoon I had some discharge which was nothing but I called my nurse just in case and she confirmed that it was fine but if it got bright red then I should be alarmed. Well last night about 8:30pm I went to the bathroom and it was bright red and filled the stool with red. I was so scared so we call our Dr. and he said go to the ER immediately. (which we were already on our way) They saw me right when we got there and did blood work and 2 u/s one vaginal and the other on my tummy. After a longtime of looking they were able to see both of them and everything looked fine. One heartbeat was 148 and the other was 138. The dr. said that it looked like the placenta had tore just a little and then healed itself and that was where the blood was from. He explained it like a scab that we get and then it heals itself. So with all that said I am doing great this morning. Have a great day!!! :)

crogers!!! So frightening! I am very sorry you had to have such a scare but am very very happy everything is ok. Do you have to be on bed rest for a bit? Is there a chance of 'opening the scab'? You sound good and am sure you are having a restful weekend. Take care of all of you!

Smattison - Good luck tomorrow with your ultrasound. I'll be praying for you and looking forward to good news.

Crogers - How scary!!! Can I just say...."been there, done that!"? I'm so happy everything turned out fine and your little ones are doing well. If the doctor didn't tell you, make sure you take it easy.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, ladies!

Hi everyone - Well it seems everyone had a nice holiday weekend. Although I did read we had a scare. Crogers I am so happy to hear that it was all ok and the babies are doing fine.

I had a nice weekend we went camping and on the boat it ws very relaxing at one point I forgot I was pg and got a little scared cuz I felt fine but my DH was like you will know if somehting is wrong you would feel not fine. Does that make sense???

Rubylee thanks for the books I am going to order them today.
Neffi- was the beach fun? Tomorrow is the day for your right your u/s. You will have to let us know how it goes.

Imblessed congrats on graduating to the OB. I am going to start interviewing OB's next week. I am not sure if we are going to use my insurance or my DH's. My DH wants to go with who ever the RE recommends but I want to meet that person first.

Oh I have a question for those of you having twins. Did your RE tell you that you will prob have to have a c-section. My RE said that only 1 out of 100 Dr's now a days will deliver twins vaginally. And I am not sure I want to be forced into a c-section just beacuse. So I would like to find a Dr that will allow a vaginal birth unless of course there is a reason.

Anyways I hope you all have a great day.

I have read similar statistics about twins and c-sections. I haven't been released to my OB yet so not sure what she thinks. The things I have read about are that many twin vaginal births turn into ER c-sections. Because they move each other around it is hard to get them effaced and if one drops it is hard to get the other to come in a timely manner. I guess it is fairly common to have a vaginal delivery with one and then have to do an ER c-section for the second. That doesn't sound fun at all.
I am beginning to think that I am going to have to have a very flexible birth plan, and be willing to accept changes as they come.

Gennessa
I think I had heard something like that about c-sections for twins but wasn't sure. I have mixed feelings about it. I will have my first appt. with my OB July 15th so I would assume she would let me know how she does things then. I just want it to be the best for the babies.

Since I have had a little time for everything to sink in I am a little nervous about carrying twins. Is anyone else feeling the same way? Just the unknown I guess.

Hello ladies-
It looks like all went well over the long weekend. We had to drive to another state for a wedding, but all went fine. I was drinking virgin bloody mary's so no one would know, and I believe it worked because we got zero questions!

Crogers-so happy all is turning out well, and I'll bet you were plenty scared. I'm hoping for normal activity for you (when you feel like it!) and no bed rest. Do whatever is best for the babes.

Today I went in to my regular OB that I hadn't seen in 1.5 yrs. It was good to see her again, and of course all were very excited at the news. I did not have an u/s but instead listened to this little remote dopplar sensor. It had fittings for both tummy and vaginal to listen to the heartbeat for a few seconds. It then spits out your baby's heartrate, and now it is up to 170! We were very happy, and will not go back to see her for another u/s for 4 wks. I wish we could have more pictures :)

In the meantime because of my "advanced" age, we are going to do some blood testing and another u/s in 3 wks. This is the combined test for downs. Is anyone else going to do any fetal testing?

Take care all and keep up your great attitudes! I'm tired and am going back for a nap!

Hello all!! Can I join your group? My EDD is March 1st, but I just found out today that I am having twins so it may be pushed up to Feb 8th (I think that is what she said?).

I am hoping to learn alot on here and we can group big belly's together
