Lou71- That is absolutely ridiculous after 5 days of stimming for them to say that! I didn't have even ONE at 14mm at day 5 of stims. I ended up with 19 mature eggs. WTF did they stay that for? You have atleast 3, maybe 4 days to go. Just visualize your follicles growing and getting fatter. Don't focus on their negative thoughts. I'm sorry they said that. No way for them to know at this stage what will happen!

Hey girls! I have missed you all so much! I need to catch up, but just wanted to give a quick update.

We had our u/s Monday and all loked great! HB was 125 bpm. It was such a relief to see our baby and the heart beating away. We go back in 2 weeks for another one...this is one 2ww after another!!! Also KATIE I'd love to be a part of a Winter baby board. For those who don't want that, they could always start a month-specific board.

I'll catch up & get some personals out in the next day or so!! Take care girls...glad to have you all back!

DH - 36 - low count

Ok--so it's just plain shocking how far behind I am--and that the stinking site was down for three days!!!! I can't believe how much I missed!!! There's so many new people on here, too!! Yikes!!! Try to take a little mental break from infertility around here and all hell breaks loose!!! Where to begin?!

Katie---Katie, Katie, oh my GOD, Katie!!!!!!!! I might be happier for you than I would have been for myself!!!!!!!! You and your DH deserve this and I actually squirted a few when I saw your betas!!!!!! Holy crap!!! I am SO excited. I really don't have words.
Karen---Congrats to you, too!!!!! It's about time that we finally have some BFPs around this place!!!!!!!!!
Ashley--Fingers crossed that everything is alright--but I already know that it is!!!!!!
Sonya--Hip hip HOORAY!!!! Congratulations to you and David!!!!! SO happy for you both!!!!!
Roshaunda--YAY!!!!!!!!!!! Congratulations!!!! I can't tell you how happy it makes me to line up all these congratulations!!!! I am beaming at my desk right now!!!!!!
Jacqueline--how are you feeling? I only got to read back through the last couple of pages so I am WAY out of the loop. Hope everything's going great!!!!
Claudia--how are you doing?! I hope everything is thickening up like it should be!!!! You are going in soon, right?! Everything crossed for you!!!!!!!!!
Franny--how are you?! Loving this weather? How much did you get last night?! Thinking of you!!!
Kim--how's it going? Are you starting up again soon?!
Gi--sounds like things are going well?! Tingling ovaries?! That's always a good sign, right?!! Everything crossed for you!!!! Yay!!!!
Ronda--how are things going?! You are heading back in soon, right?! Next week?! Hooray!! Best of luck!!!!! Thinking of you!!!!
Samantha--I am just so sorry. Nothing anyone says is going to make it any better--but I want you to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers--and my heart aches for you.
Miyaya--I am so sorry about the chemical--I know firsthand how much that sucks. Are you starting up again soon? Thinking of you and your family.
Beth--how are you doing? Are you guys trying again soon? Thinking of you!
Ester--how are you? Are you guys planning to give it another go? Hope you're doing well!!

I know I missed a bunch of you--and some of you I haven't even met yet!!!! But I just wanted to get a quick hello out to my girls and get the updates!!! I am way behind and I don't think I could ever catch up at this point--but just know that I'm thinking of you all and wishing the very best for you!!!

AFM, I don't have much to report. My DH and I are taking a little break--I think we are going to take a few months off. I have to be honest that making that decision has been a surprising load off my mind. I didn't realize how much mental energy this was really taking--I have been so productive at work for the past two weeks--strictly for that reason. I did have the FU call with the RE yesterday--but it was about as uninformative as I expected it would be. He basically says that it is an embryo quality issue--and he doesn't think it's an egg problem. That said, he isn't recommending that we go the donor sperm route yet--he says it's way too early. But we only get three more tries, so I don't know. He says maybe we should PGD, but it would probably be out of pocket and expensive, or DH can go to a fertility urologist--but he doesn't know how much helpful information that would really provide. He also isn't planning to change up my protocol because my body couldn't be responding more "beautifully"--as he put it. I said--isn't the definition of madness doing the exact same thing as before and expecting a different result? He then said he could hear my frustration--and he's frustrated, too--but that every time is different--because every egg and sperm is different. That's encouraging (maybe you guys can hear my frustration, too?!). Anyway--whatever. I'm taking a break. And really enjoying it. But I am not taking a break from you ladies!!!! I've missed you and I've been thinking about you all--and I am SO happy that I came back to so much AMAZING news!!!!! XOXO Cami

lou,

I would vote for going ahead with the cycle. You never really know for sure until the ER and even 4 good eggs are better than a bunch of eggs that are not great. Remember, it only takes one!. I say ride it out, hope for the best and keep your $2500+. evil nurse

Cami,
Welcome back!. I wondered how you were doing. It is amazing how much mental energy we expend while cycling and making decisions. Often we don't realize the toll it is taking until a decision has been made. Have you considered changing RE's? or getting a 2nd opinion? Unfortunetly each cycle is different, even with the same two people, and same protocol (its good that he is happy with your response), so there is really no way to tell what cycle will yield your BFP!

Katie,

I say a Winter board sounds good. Hopefully there will be alot more of people from this board joining soon!

Riley,

That is great that you got to see the heartbeat. Sorry about your next 2 ww, but what GREAT NEWS!!! :D

OMG, there's so much good news of late!!
Congrats Roshaunda, Katie, Karen, Sonya, and Ashley!!! I love reading good news! :)

miyaya & Sam, I'm very sorry to hear your news. It just isn't fair.

lou - I'm with Karen. It's too early!

Hope everyone else is doing okay - what does everyone think of this new board? I like it. It's easier to scroll through everyone's posts.

AFM, I finally got the insurance clearance to go ahead for the next 2 cycles (if needed ;) ). Joined the Lupron club again this week and hope to start stims on 2/26. Tentative ER date is 3/12. It feels good to get going on this finally!

Lou, I agree with Karen...give it a couple of days and some little ones may catch up! I only have 6 right now, but tomorrow may be dufferent. Even if it's only 6 I am still going forward hoping that at least 2 are real good quality. But funny that last IVF I got only 12 eggs...none freeze quality. My RE said he was changing my meds so we woulde hopefully get more eggs. Oh well, have to take what grows I guess! Good luck! We should be doing ER about the same time.

How dare they change the message board. :D I actually had to remember my username and password. been a real long time for that.

Katie
-Yey for a good 2nd beta. I have heard some Dr's say that they are looking for a 66% rise in the beta in 2 days, not doubling so you should be good to go. I am so happy for you.

Lou - Give it some time, you are only on day 5. More follicles can pop up. Once cycle I only had 1 follicle on day 11, I was going to get canceled but Dr decided to let me stim for the weekend and come in on Monday. On Monday I had 8 follicles. So you never know what might happen.

I'm so happy this site is back! :D There goes the addiction again! I'm glad you all are on board with a winter pg thread - I mean we all talk so many times a day now - what then we're to just spread out because of EDD's? thats crazy!
And this one is for the long haul instead of a two month cycle thread - I just couldnt think of not having my girls input every day - Look how loooong the last 3 days were! - xoxo

Ronda Wow! that was fast! Your ET will be here next week already! This is THE one!!!! Gee no trip to TN, maybe when you need a carseat!

Karen X'd for tom's beta! I thought the wait for that phone call was longer than the first one! So happy for you!

Sonya -No, as long as your betas are rising nicely, (66% or more) they just do 2 betas. But he booked an u/s for me next tues. Theres no HB at 5w3d so that would make me confused but he told me to bring the contact info of the OB I want to use - thats kind of a relief. How are you feeling?

StatsGoddess] Hi honey! long time no see! How are you doing? You must really be moving along now! I can thread crash on you now that I dont feel like visiting that side of the board will jinx me  How are you feeling? I finally caught up - it just took me 2 more cycle threads! ha ha - hope you're having a H&H preg! :D much love -xoxo

ESYou aint kidding! no warning, just cut off from each other! ACK! Am I the only one who misses the old format?
How are you doing honey? Have you & your DH been feeling a bit better? xoxo

Lou I'm with karen! its still really early! Some can definitely catch up. They dont want to risk losing those 4 larger ones, which are most likely 4 really good ones sinnce you dont have any endo getting in the way. I'd continue with this cycle.
If you feel the need to cancel before trigger you still could, but you are right, you dont know that a different cycle would get higher numbers. Besides its quality thats important, way more important than high egg yields. You may still end up with those 2x7 anyway. I was upset at a cycle similar to this one (Sept) I had 3 follies and my RE said "theres no guarantee that there would be anymore follicles next try" We ended up w/ 2 grade 1A perfect (w/ 0 fragmentation) Those were the best eggs I ever had! Unless they are suggesting that something isnt going right (which they arent) I vote you continue - those could be THE ones! much love - xoxo oh, and you WILL be in the winter group - I insist!

Jaqueline YIIIPPPEEEE!!!! for a good strong HB! :D How are you feeling mama?

Cami -thanks! yes, I DO hear the frustration in your post, but what he said is true. Every cycle is different, every month, every time. Ghost says that you can cycle the same woman x3 and have 3 different responses each time. IVF is so draining mentally, emotionally, finacially, ugh! You sound like you've reached a happy spot to take a break. Recoup & get back on the roller coaster - xoxo

Cami -- Sounds like a break is what you need and will do you good. Thanks for sticking in with us. Best wishes for your future cycle. I hope you get your BFP right away when you are ready to jump back in!

Riley -- I'm so happy you heard the heart beat. That sounds like a wonderful experience. I hope I get to do that someday too.

Karen, Ronda, Chris, Supergenius, Lauren, and Katie -- Thanks so much for your advice. I've been thinking all morning and I will likely go through with the cycle, even with only 4 eggs. I'm so hoping the 2 x 7mm ones catch up and mature as well. I left the nurse with a bunch of questions for RE. I'm expecting the call in a few hours. I will update again once I hear what he has to say about my progress.

cami i'm getting sick of winter....let me tell you...i'm going crazy! we actually didnt get too much snow..maybe 5 inches? it was heavy to shovel though. me and DH were able to get up to north conway for a ski trip though so it was fun!! have you ever been to north conway? i love it up there its beautiful! my DH actually grew up there until he was in high school then his family moved to cincinnati oh. when we first met i was living in NY and he was in college in michigan, and he took me up to north conway for a long weekend...its where we fell in love, and decided that weekend we wanted to move to NH and have a family....10 years later here we are...our family is just a lil smaller then we pictured back then, but we have faith that it will be growing soon! ok..well i dont know why i just told you all of that haha sorry!

afm i am going out of town tomorrow for a week for work in NY. DH will be home so i told him he could keep my laptop so i will be MIA. :( i'm gonna miss you guys! i'll be checking in on the hotels computer, but i dont know how often i'll be able to post. the good news is i'm working a trade show at turning stone casino!! wooohoo lets see if i can win myself more IVF cycles!!! **blowing on dice** "mama needs a new gonal-f pen!!"

I was actually wondering what does everyone do with their extra meds if they get a BFP? I have 4 unopened Gonal F pens, and an ovidrel. I am obviously going to save for the next cycle in case I get a BFN. But if not needed does the RE take them back to give to someone with no INS? It just seems like a waste when so many ppl pay thousands for the stuff.

Lauren -- The meds are yours to do what you want with. I personally will donate any left over meds I have to a woman on this board without insurance who is still trying for a BFP because that would make me feel the best. (Oh, how I hope I get that BFP so I can do that!)I was lucky enough to receive some meds this way from a generous woman on a previous board. I sent her the packaging and paid her for the shipping. I would only give them back to RE if they gave them to me in the first place. But I agree with you that the meds should not be wasted!

OK - so I just wrote a relatively long post and lost it all.

So I'll keep it short and sweet. We went in for our u/s today and.....

IT'S TWINS!!!!!!!!

I am obviously very happy....and in shock. I went in to the appointment expecting bad news just because that is all I have had over the past couple of years. We got to see and hear both heartbeats - both were around 125. We know they are both girls because of PGD testing. I am proceeding cautiously at least until we know things are progressing.

I do have a clot in my uterus which likely caused the bleeding but he says it is not harmful to the babies. I may have some more bleeding but will be monitored closely especially with twins.

I have an appointment with my OB next week and will have another u/s in a couple of weeks.

I promise, promise to do personals later but I have hardly gotten any work done today.

Love you all!!!!!
