Jan/Feb 2010--Cycle Group

Post by rlk1 »

Hi everyone!

So....it may be too early to start this thread, but I was wondering if anyone was going to cycle in Jan or Feb?

I'm tentatively scheduled to have an FET on January 15th. I have a DS from my 2nd IVF cycle and am hoping to give him a sibling!

I would love to hear from you if you're about to start an IVF or FET cycle (for your first, second, third....child). I joined a thread when I was cycling in the past and it was so helpful to have the support of other IVF girls (and boys!).

Have a nice weekend!

I start BCP on December 25th and if everything go as planned, I should be stimming in January and having ER and ET the first or second week in February.

Wanted to start now but since the lab at the clinic will be closed for two weeks at Christmas and New Years, they are not letting people stim during that time.

I had a DD from IVF number 1 on Sept 19, 2008 so this will be my second attempt. Hoping for a BFP the first go around.

I'm now 40 so I'm concerned about age, number of eggs, fertilization etc. Praying things will be fine because we have decided against donor eggs.

Recently remarried to my husband who had no children until DD. I already have three adult children 22, 19 and 18 from a previous marriage. Doing IVF due to tubes being blocked after reversal.
Me, 40 - DH, 47
IVF #1: POSITIVE - Michaela born 9/19/08
IVF #2: Consult on 10/13/09 - Start BCP Dec since clinic will be closed for the Holiday.

Will do a FET in Jan. Went for my Day 3 testing last Wed (in case insurance needed it). Numbers were great except hCG was positive and my prolactin was high. Clinic will retest my hCG Wed and also will have my Hysterosonogram then. If all is well Prolactin will be checked Dec 9th. I am keeping my fingers crossed and my levels have gone down so I don't get cancelled.

This will be my 1st FET after 3 IVFs. 3rd resulting in BFP of Triplets (set of identical girls and a little boy) which i lost after going into preterm labor at 21.5 weeks. I will be transferring both frost babies if they thaw well.

Pregnancy test have all been positive since Nov 5th. I just think its still from the triplets. I gave birth October 8th and had a D&C that night for a retained placenta. Let's pray everything goes back to normal =]
IVF #1: Oct '08- BFN
IVF #2: Feb '09- BFP (Chem)
IVF #3: May '09- BFP
(Triplets lost at 21.5 weeks- Preterm Labor)
BFP: Natural Pregnancy March '10
Little Frank Manuel arrived 11.20.10
June '11 natural BFP sadly ending in miscarriage :(

YAYYYYY!!! I have some partners in crime!!

Washingtonda: I also have to wait until after the holidays, but I'm sort of relieved. I think it will be nice not to go through the ups and downs of cycling during Christmas/New Years. I'm guessing that since you got pregnant following your first IVF attempt, that has to bode well as far as the quality of your eggs! I'm thinking IVF #2 will be just as successful for you!

Rosario: I'm so sorry to hear about the triplets. How are you doing? Here's hoping your hCG levels go down soon so that you can start your cycle soon.

Neffi: My old March '08 cycling bud!!! It's so good to hear from you!! Congrats on the positive HPT and Beta---how exciting!! I'll be crossing my fingers and toes for you on Monday!! How's your DS doing these days?

Jaydentd: Hopefully, you'll be able to go through this crazy adventure with us in Jan/Feb. Yes, I agree---BFPs all around!!

I'll check back in soon! I have my mock transfer on Monday--I'll let you know how it goes. What memories this is all bringing back (both good and bad!!).

Hey guys--

Just got back from the mock transfer---all went well but I forgot about the cramping afterwards! Next up for me is D3 bloodwork in early December. If the bloodwork looks good, I'll be seen again on Dec. 30th and, hopefully, start estrogen then.

Jaydentd: I just saw the thread you started about success after miscarriage. I somehow missed that on your signature. Are you doing okay? If it helps at all, MOST of my friends have had miscarriages (it's so weird that only a few haven't) and have gone on to have successful pregnancies. I also had a miscarriage, but it was an unusual situation. I was carrying twins after my 2nd IVF treatment, but I lost one at 10.5 weeks. Thankfully, the other little guy hung on and I now have a healthy little boy. Anyway, I know that my situation was a bit different than yours, but I thought it might help to know that I was able to maintain a healthy pregnancy even after a miscarriage!

How's everyone else doing? I imagine this thread will be quiet for a while until we get closer to Jan/Feb, but I thought I'd say hi!

Hi Ladies,
I would love to join.
My 1st IVF I posted, my FET I did not so I thought for my third attempt I would try posting again.

My First IVF was in July/August and ended in a BFN.
My FET was to be October 30th but got a call on October 29th that none of the 4 embies survived the thaw.

This Thursday I actually have an appt with the Dr. to talk about what happened. I wasnt able to get in before then so it is killing me to find out what happened and what to do next. I am most certain they close the clinic in December so I will prob start Jan/Feb. If they told me I could start today I so would!!

Anyway, I am back for support and look forward to sharing this journey with you all!
Me 27 DH 35
IVF #1- 7/09- BFN

Rosario: I am curious WHEN you get your next BFP in January if you are considering a cerclage next time around? I had a similar story- be with a much better outcome. In May 07 I transferred 3 perfect looking embies and turned out I was pregnant with Quads. 2 singletons and 1 egg split into identical twins (boys I think- but never knew for sure). 1 singleton died at 12 weeks and my twins were very sick from the start with Twin to Twin transfusion. They died at 16 weeks but I was in preterm labor with them to give birth to them vaginally and then they literally flipped me upside down for 4 days and waited for the cervix to close to try to save my last remaining baby. it worked, however my daughter was born at 26 weeks by emergency C section weighing 14 oz (thats not a typo) due to all the activity in the uterus she was extremely small. She is an energetic 2 year old now and doing better than anyone expected for being the 2nd to smallest baby to live in the state of CA.
Reading your story brought tears to my eyes. I hope you are hanging in there.
I have my FET this Friday and because of My c section scar (classic) I can only transfer 1 embie. I am probably getting ahead of myself thinking about getting my BFP and if I will need a cerclage to try to keep everything calm.

Good Luck everyone!
IVF/ICSI 3/07 Froze All 36 eggs
FET 5/07 BFP; DD born early (26 weeks) 10/07

Hey rlk - Thanks for starting this thread!! I'm pretty sure you and I cycled at the same time back in 2008. I have a DD from that cycle. We just completed another round of IVF in October 2009 which didn't work. :( We have 4 embies, and this will be my first FET which makes me nervous. Glad to be cycling with you again. I don't know when I'll be cycling yet, it will depend on when AF arrives. Our next appointment with RE is November 23rd.

Rosario - Wow, I'm so sorry on the loss of your triplets. I can't even imagine. I'm already praying that you're successful with this cycle.

Here's to prayers and sticky baby dust for us all!

TTC - 7 years, PCOS and 1 blocked tube

Hey guys--

Me again. Thought I'd bring this thread up to the top to entice other lovely ladies to join us. Come on....you know you want to!!!

Rikirees: Wishing you the very best of luck on Friday--I'll be thinking of you. Lord knows after all you've been through you deserve that BFP (and an UNeventful pregnancy this time).

Penny2: Glad you're joining us! Let us know (if you want!) what they say on Thursday. That must have been so frustrating/heartbreaking that none of the embryos survived the thaw. I'm curious to hear why they think that happened. Whatever the explanation, I'm thinking your next cycle will be a success!

J&C: So good to hear from you! Yah, I think we did cycle at the same time in '08. Sorry to hear about your recent BFN. Ugh. I'm doing my first FET too--how many do you think you'll transfer? If AF arrives soon, would they squeeze in an FET for you in Dec?

Hi to everyone else too!!

Hi everybody. I too have been lurking and would like to join. I am hoping to start cycling again in the new year. I have 10 snow babies waiting and hope to get moving with FET. My dh is reluctant with the current economy, I however, am not getting any younger (38, will be 39 in March) and know if we don't do it soon, we won't do it at all. Also the storage bill keeps going up and it will be due again in April. Clinic has said if we do something with the embies before April, they will waive the storage fee. Soooooo, everyone keep their fingers crossed that dh gets on board (it would be too hard if he is 100% vested in this too, as you all know).
