claud hi hun! welcome! its so good to hear that you are going at this again. it sounds like your PMA is back up where it should be! this time is going to be PERFECT! right now if everything is on track i will be having my ER/ET thanksgiving week...i also cant wait to have great news to share come hanukkah/christmas time!

AFM-just pluggin away on BCP's. i have a week left and then my base check next friday...its getting close. i have to call my pharmacy sometime this week to set up delivery of my baby in a box. the new lupron i'm on is diluted so it expires really fast (like 20 days) so i'm trying to wait as long as possible before they mix it, but i really want my meds!! plus i'm trying to wait till payday so i can afford them! the fun never stops huh?

Claud - BFP would be a great Christmas gift! I'll have to remember that 'no air shot' rule when I get to that point! Sounds painful.

Franny - I was telling DH about the 'baby in a box' and he looked MORTIFIED until I explained it to him. We are still so green! This year will end well for you & your DH...I can feel it!

Lulu - YAY stims! I agree about the Sept/Oct board. I calculated a 68.5% success rate for them!

AFM, still waiting for Thursday for my first appointment. I was wondering for those of you with male factor...where were DH's numbers? Mine was 14 million and then 9 million. I guess I didn't think that was horrible, maybe it is. Anyone else know their numbers?

My Follies are growing...lol

I did my first shot this am, didn't hurt. But i did feel kinda funny about 3-4pm took some tylenol and it kinda went away. Almost like the flu was coming on, but then it went away? Is that sorta normal? I was totally expecting the follies to start hurting and such?

Im off to meet some of my girl friends for some ladies poker tonight! I feel just ok enought to go and get out of the house!



My husband wants to do the 2 injections later tonight...lol

I'm so far 3dp3dt of two perfect 8 cell embies and my cramping has seemingly subsided. Anyone know how soon I should get a + on a HPT? I bought some and thought I'd use them but now I think I'm too scared to know.

I had some slight brownish/pink spotting about 36 hours after my transfer. I'm wondering if that was waaay to early to be implantation bleeding. My clinic performed assisted hatching on my embies which is supposed to help them attach. So whatdya think?

I hate 2ww. My beta is Nov 10th. I'm terrified. I am trying to prepare myself for a BFN so I can move forward with another try and then be super happy if it's a BFP. I'm canceling all plans that week just in case.

jenice -- thanks for your advice. If I do use the HPT, I'm going to try not to dwell on results until confirmed by my clinic.

me2009 Haha... you are funny about the shower gifts! I actually bought them a high chair. But it was awful to sit through. I'm hoping you are right about the twinge... but it was only about 12 hours after my transfer... too early? I sure hope I'm your #2 on the list of 3's! Thanks and keep the positive energy coming. welcome claud662 I would be sooo mad if I spent all that $ on stim meds and my cycle was messed up at the trigger shot. Glad you're back in the game... this time will be it for you!

10bear I had a lead follie as well... 21 or so the day of the trigger shot. At the time of retrieval, I had two down in the 15 range and one of those was mature. So you could end up with most if not all of yours mature too. Just remember, you only need ONE good one! Here's the important part... the ER. After the procedure, I felt pretty good. No pain upon walking or anything. After getting home and resting, I became increasingly more sore as the day went on. It ended up being pretty bad for a few hours there. I took Vicodin and slept as much as possible. I recommend getting a prescription filled for some so you have it in case you need it. By the next morning I was MUCH better and able to go to work. GOOD LUCK ON YOU ER!!!! You are definitely in my thoughts.

Riley baby maybe First beta is Tue Nov 10th. 8 more days to wait... ugh! I'm sooooo scared. I'm expecting bad news. I dunno why, maybe it's my defense mechanism kicking in so I can handle it if it's the case. I keep thinking... could I have peed them out right after the procedure? That's nuts, right?

Ugh! If I get a BFN, I'm not going to be able to convince myself that something I did caused it. After all, I had TWO PERFECT embies in my favor.

Riley baby maybe. my dh counts are extremely low couple times ago it was 0.8 million and the most recent says 0-5 per high power field I don't know exactly what that means but I believe it to be way less than the 0.8 but not sure.we attempted ivf once and were told my eggs had very thin shells but they didn't usually see that and didn't really know why or what it meant but I wonder if dh counts being so bad or if my egg problem contributed to our very low fert. Rate. RE has never really answered me on that.
Also how do I ask ghost a question and what exactly is ghost. I feel silly asking but I searched the site and really only found that ghost was a moderator. I have never been on forums like this so I don't really understand them.help please!
I too miss the list of where everyone is! So many people r hard to keep track of! I hope u r ok supergenius!

lou71 - hang in there, thinking about you, you should be the first BFP on this forum! i have spotting too (in addition to this killer headache) ... is that normal on lupron? i called the clinic yesterday, one of the nurses gave me a very vague answer saying that some women just spot/bleed all the time (decided not to think about it, as im coming in for another us + blood work tomorrow anyway)... i know you are at a different stage in ifv but perhaps its the same, just because of all the meds we are on?

10bear - i tried paracetomol and ibuprophen and to be honest stopped taking any meds, because they simply dont help! weird headaches. nothing like i had ever before. good luck on your ER today! let us know.

Riley baby maybe - my DH had 8 and 12 mln on his tests. Our RE said icsi was the only way (although they may try both just ivf and icsi on the day if there are enough eggs). This was a bit of a shock for me as i did not think the results were that bad either. I beleive anything under 20 mln is considered to be low.

Riley baby maybe - My husband's count is between 0 to 5. RE said not to worry, they have procedures to inject the sperms into eggs, all they need are few good ones.

Lou -- Don't count days and don't do HPT, you are only going to worry yourself silly. I heard the more relaxed you are, easier for the embies to stick. So acupunture sounds like a great idea. Just hang in there, big BFP is on the way.

me2009 -- Congrats on stims! I still can't believe RE restart me on stims now after she canceled last Tues. Now I did 3 nights of bravelle, hopefully there are many follies growing. The funny thing is I had nightmares of screaming and yelling at DH the first night, must be all the hormones. DH said he is happy that I only do it in a dream, still loveble in real life. I had headache only on my right side next morning, not sure if it's from not sleeping well or the meds. It went away the second day. RE said it's the changes in hormone leves that's causing headache.Once your body adjusted to the new level, syptoms should go away.

I just found out that my co-worker's best friend who is 3 month pregnant came down with swine flu. All her friends are not even allowed to visit her, scarry I suggest everyone to get their seasonal and H1N1 Flu SHots ASAP.

good morning everyone! dh goes to work wicked early on tuesdays, and i couldnt go back to sleep after he woke me up to say goodbye so here i am!

lulu maybe your headaches are from all the screaming at RE in your sleep! but really all of these meds we put our bodies through during IVF cause alot of different side effects, but the headaches are the most common. i was scared at first from my headaches last cycle because they were the worst i ever had, but once i stopped the meds i havent had a headache since. so hang in there sweetie...just keep thinking of the BFP you will get and the headaches will go away...and the morning sickness will start haha

lou its WAY too early to POAS!!! dont do it! i wouldnt even try until maybe 2 days before your beta. i know the waiting is CRAZY, but try to relax and keep your mind off things...your lil baby/babies need a calm environment to snuggle in! how was the acupuncture? my mom goes for acupuncture and loves it. my insurance doesnt cover it and it seems really expensive since you have to go a few times a week for it to work. thats great your friend is practicing on you.

babyhopes wooohooo on getting your baby in a box!!! its sooo exciting isnt it?? my first cycle is was very overwhelmed when the 2 huge boxes showed up...with all of those NEEDLES!! i took them all out and arranged them on my kitchen table and took pictures of them all....i figured one day i will want to show my kid what i went through for them haha! this time i feel like a pro, and now i cant wait to get my baby in a box! when is your first injection?? good luck

riley hahaaha about telling DH about the baby in the box. i got the term from someone on the sept/oct thread and i loved it so i started telling everyone who knows about my ivf about my baby in a box and they all laughed. whatever i can do to keep smiling during all of this right? my DH thinks POAS is sooo funny. he is on a music message board for a band we love, and he said its a bunch of guys in their 20's and all they do is make fun of each other...i said not MY message board...we fill it up with PMA!! hahaha very different over here!

Well ladies I am sitting at home waiting for my "baby in a box" to come today! Appt with re for ivf teaching once again and ultrasound and bloodwork tomorrow. I guess the time is getting closer.I just hope this goes so much better! Maybe having the support from u all will make the diffrence.I didn't really have much support last time. Didn't really tell anyone we were doing ivf!

Good morning to all....
Lou71... the spotting is normal as long as it is brownish in color. I heard that the HCG stays in your system @ least 10 days. So I would not take one till a couple of days before your beta.... I know on my last BFN I took one a couple days before because I WAS GOING CRAZY!!!!!!!! My only advise... stay busy... go to the spa, movies, or a date night out ... whatever can take your mind "escape"

Riley baby maybe... My DH sperm tested fine but when we got to ER they were low. we did emergency ICSI but my eggs were a mess from hyper stimulation. On round #2 we are doing planned ICSI and assist hatching. My DH is also not drinking any alcohol because I do to start my meds in approx 12 days...

Turtle..... I will be starting injections 10 days post my period which is due on thursday. My RE is starting me on climara patch and ganirelix shots

Hello all – my word – it certainly is tricky to keep track of you all. Can’t wait to log on and check out how everyone is doing though – it’s amazing how much happens when you are offline for a couple of days in this crazy world of IVF!

I too am completely lost without a thread to keep track of everyone – it’s taken me an absolute age to type this ridiculously long posts so apologies in advance – I will try to so more, shorter posts in future – feel like I am up to speed now though so here goes...

Lou71– a huge congrats on your ET – I have everything crossed for you that you will be our first BFP. That’s hard having to go to a babyshower - I would really struggle to do that just now – I’m so emotional ! 2WW must be torture but I totally agree with Lulu668 and turtle0619 I wouldn’t do any tests until the time, you’ll drive yourself crazy and I agree that you might make yourself more worried which your body won’t need. I recommend trying to hold out if you can...easier said than done I reckon

Justwannabamom – hope your baby in a box arrives ok. Its quite exciting getting it then you know you're on your way...

Babyhopes – My sister has PCOS and she has been having reflexology for years and got pregnant last year (now has a little boy 6 months - without fertility treatment). I might start it too – together with my acupuncture if this cycle doesn’t work.

Lulu – Good news about being on the stims – I hope your follies are coming along (better than mine!) . Do you know when your ER is planned for?

Turtle0619 – I see that your first cycle was cancelled due to understimulation – I am worried that’s what may happen to me – what were your follicle sizes/numbers if you don’t mind me asking?

Riley Baby maybe – My DH’s count has ranged from 20m, to 42m but when it was 20 we were told this wasn’t a problem – it’s just the morphology and motility that are an issue for us. Lulu is right, ICSI will get around the problem anyway as long as there are a few –it’s all you need!

2010 – I had loads of persistent headaches during down regulation and agree – painkillers didn’t touch them so I didn’t bother taking anything. I have decided just to try to grin and bear it all on the basis that childbirth will be a million times worse (hopefully)

Justwannabamom –I was going to ask about the ghost thing too – still getting to grips with this messageboard malarkey.

Claud662 – Welcome to our thread! That’s so rubbish about your last cycle – how awful. Here’s to better luck and a BFP this time. At least you have your new schedule and your new cycle to focus on.

Katie99 – I hope your meds class went/goes well today. Manipulating your meds can only be a good thing I reck - have a feeling that’s what I will be doing when this cycle doesn’t work if I am suffering from understimulation Just seen your message whilst I have been typing – I am on day 8 of injection stims, next US is tomorrow (11/04), ER around 11/9 or 11/10. Thank you for offering to take up the schedule list. I too am fast becoming addicted! Thank you too for the dpt info – that’s great – I didn’t even know what dpt stood for until about 5 minutes ago!

Me2009 – So funny what you said about your DH being a ‘good kind’ of attorney. Me and my DH are both lawyers (the ‘good kind’ too! ) and people’s reactions are so funny sometimes you feel like you have to justify yourself and explain that you are nice person really!) Good luck with your stims – all I can think about is my follicles growing – it’s nuts! If I get a slight twinge I am praying it’s because they are getting bigger – like growth pains ha ha – here’s hoping.

Tabbdm – hope your shots are going well – sounds like you are a few days before me in terms of planned ER. Fingers crossed lots of us get there and we can all keep each other sane through the 2WW!

10bear –Lots of luck for your ER – I am definitely willing you to have lots and lots of eggs. Let us know how you get on and I hope you aren’t feeling too rough afterwards.

Me! - I have been on stim injections for 1 week now. My bloods last week showed that I wasn’t responding as much as they would like and instead of dropping my menopur down by a third, they kept me at the same dose. I went back yesterday for my 7 day US. They only measured 5 follicles – the largest was 8mm – although they did say that it s very early days and I will be on stims for the rest of this week so others should develop. Apparently they could see lots there, just not very big. I have no idea what the measurements of the others were – they don’t seem to tell me much when I’m there. Does this sound rubbish to any of you? I must admit I was expecting for better news but I’m not sure if I was expecting too much too soon. I am just worried that the first cycle just gets used as a kind of test to see how your body reacts to the drugs and then the next time round they can assess what you need better?
I have my next US tomorrow so will let you know how it goes.

I heard a few other people mentioning acupunture and Lou – hope you enjoy your session. I went yesterday and told my acupuncturist about my few and small follies and he said he had ‘just the thing’ and did some injections especially for that – he specialises in acupuncture for fertility so I hope he knows what he’s doing! Anyway, he recommends an acupuncture session before and after ET and not with the 24 hours before ER/EC so I will be going twice next week (fingers crossed) as my ER is likely to be Monday/Tuesday – depending on whether there is anything there to collect that is!

Stupid question – is assisted hatching the same at getting to blastocyst stage before ET?
