So worse case scenario, 7 out of 11 if the other 3 embryo's don't survive. I will be Peeing on a stick, starting on the 17th of April. Yes, let me warn all of you. I am addicted to POAS. I even have to hide the tests from DH.

Thats great Donna!! At least knowing you have some frozen is a huge thing since FET's are so darn easy! Good Luck!

Hi,
Can I join this group? I have been lurking for some time.

So my name is Chris, this is my first IVF cycle. I am 35 and DH is 36, we have unexplained infertility and TTC for 3 years. I was on clomid for about 11 months and did IUI 3 months of that time with all BFN. I started Lupron on April 1st and go for my first B/W and U/S on April 16. Hopefully then I can start Follistem.

So what have your RE's said about exercising before ER. Mine didn't say anything about it, just after ER to not get heart rate over 140 and not lift anything over 10lbs. Right now I have a personal trainer and I am working out at least 3 times a week. I know after I start the Follistem my ovaries are going to get huge so now I am trying to debate on when I will stop working out. Gosh this is just so much fun.

Dr. Jen, if you don't mind me asking, were in St. Louis is your RE? I am going to Wash U.

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for all the kind comments fellow cycle buddies. Feel much better now, just had a down day yesterday. So in the US can you do short protocals at all? I have found it much less punishing than the full cycle but have been disappointed with the progress. Last time I had 24 follies and 6 eggs but this time 7 follies and only 3 look likely to be mature enough. I'm anxious about the number of eggs I may get as not many to risk! Last time we only got 3 and 4 cell embies too. Oh, it's such a series of hurdles isn't it ladies! I have my fingers crossed for all of you - sounds like a very promising positive set of results......

Jesjes - thanks for starting the thread and good luck with ER.

Hi Amy and Rubylee! Big welcome. :D I wouldn't say IVF is easy (at all!) as all the hormones do have a big impact on your body and mind and you can feel like no one around you can understand but it is SO well worth it if you get positive results. It's a series of hurdles and as you pass each one the excitement grows. Best of luck to you both x

Donna - what impressive looking embies! I hope they continue to develop - sure they will, they look strong and healthy! Now the torture of the 2ww. Keep yourself busy with lots of films and chocolate!

Jim - good to hear it from a man's view and you sound very supportive of your DP. x

Courtney - how are the shots going? I find they sting a bit but rubbing with an ice cube before and after helps. Great fun isn't it. Hope you produce lots of full follies. x

Yellow and Donna - greetings fro a fellow POAS addict. Why do we torture ourselves so? I am so terrible - I do it every month just before AF.....

Chris - welcome! My DH and I also have unexplained inf. It's frustrating isn't it as if a problem was found then something could (hopefully) be done. On the bright side though it often means time is the main factor in
TTC and it will hopefully happen eventually but we're lucky to be able to give it a helping hand eh. x

And leaving the lucky Sameera to last....Well, what can I say but WOW and WOW again! 20 eggs and 14 embies? That is incredible, you must be SOOOOOOOOO chuffed! :D :D :D You're bound to go far with this cycle and at the very least you'll have enough frosties to last you til your old age! Send some of that fertile magic our way! Well done x

Thinking of you all. Till next time...........xxx

Well I have only been officially on this board for a day and I am already jumping up and down for Donna & Sameera! You will both be in my thoughts. Take care of yourselves.

I realize I have got it easy so far. This experience is such a weird hurry up and wait situation. The day they gave me my schedule (just Tuesday!) I was so overwhelmed and full of anxiety. I felt like it happened suddenly. Now I can't wait to start poking myself with Lupron!

Sameera,

Thanks again. She's been so amazing to me over the past six years that supporting her is the least I can do. Every man should be as lucky.

Hey, I posed a question in the IVF forum here: http://www.ivf-infertility.com/phpBB2/v ... hp?t=15057

Was I too vague or did it not make sense? Not one person could help. Should I direct it to a particular expert here?

Oh, by the way, I have a side business providing credit repair for clients. If anyone needs any questions answered regarding this subject, it's free for my friends here. I'd like to contribute something to the group that I have expertise in.

Hope all is well.

My beta is April 24th.
A year ago today was my first IVF Embryo Transfer. it was the same Dr as Last year and I got pregnant that time(although I miscarried). So maybe this will be my lucky time. We also put back three this time instead of two.
My uterine lining was 14 mm. I always have struggles with it being so thick. Usually it goes to 20 and higher. I hope to be the first of our BFP's!!!
This is the first picture of my babies! Aren't they adorable?

Hi Ladies.
Donna and Sameera-congrats!

Welcome to everyone who is new since I was last on the thread.

I had my b/w and u/s yesterday after being on Lupron for 14 days. I still have no sign of AF other than occasional crampy feelings. The nurse called and said my lining is thick and most women have AF by day 14 on Lupron. (Made me feel even worse :( ) She said hopefully I will get AF in the next few days and I am to return for b/w and u/s in 1wk on Apr 18 to eval. If this all goes well then everything will only be postponed 1wk. I'm so stressing b/c last cycle I had AF at day 11 on Lupron. I don't know if it is stress causing AF to be late or what. My DH (not feeling very D right now) upset me last night by saying if I wasn't so stressed all the time I would be pregnant by now! We were arguing abt a situation I have at work and he felt I never take his advice. It was said in the heat of the moment--he has never said anything like this before. I cried myself to sleep. Part of me is afraid I may have this cycle cancelled altogether. I think I'm going to call my acupuncturist and see if she can do something to get AF to start. I've read on here before abt that working for several women. Any advice?

Chris--I'm so happy to finally find someone on the board who is going to Wash U! Dr Odem is my RE. He did my last ER and Dr Ratz did my ET. Everyone has been very nice there. But, as you can see from the above I am freaking out a bit--I am a type A personality definitely! Dr Odem has always told me stress has nothing to do with the cycle working or not. I miss my nurse Kathy who left for a research position. She was always able to make me feel better. As for the exercising, good for you! Obviously I got the exact same advice. My husband used to be a personal trainer, so we have alot of equipment in our basement. I've been slacking off lately. I didn't feel like exercising at all while on follistem due to the follies growing.

JesJes-I'll let you know what is going on with my dates for this cycle as soon as I know. Thanks.

Hey all you wonderful ladies!! I am now back safe and sound from my trip to Jamaica. Looks like I have a lot to catch up on while I was gone. We had 7 pages when I left, and its now doubled! I didn't have the best computer access while I was gone like I thought so I was never able to get on here. But I had a great time. Hopefully that got me ready for this cycle! I started my BCPs last Sunday. One step closer! I will let you know when I get my schedule from my doctor this week (hopefully).

Now I have to go back and catch up on all that I've missed!! Hope you all are doing fantastic!!

Hi Ladies and Men,

Hope everyone is doing OK.

Congrats Donna and Sameera!!

Dr. Jen - Sorry to hear about your frustration. I am now kind of getting worried about my AF. I started spotting on 10 day of Lupron which was when I should have started but I still have not had anything heavy. Usually I have by now. I go in for my b/w & u/s on 4/16 so hopefully AF will kick in by then. I should have been on your exact same schedule but my AF for last month was 1 day late so they had to put me off another week. My RE is Dr. Ratts. My friend did IVF a few years ago and had Dr. Odem and she loved him. go to your acupunctuist, I heard from several girls on other boards that their acupuncturist can get AF going. I was thinking of going to an acupuncturist but don't think I can afford it at this time. Good luck.

Dri-Jim and MJWilliams - Your wives are so lucky to have supportive husbands like you. I love my DH dearly and wouldn't give him up for anything but he just sits by the sidelines and doesn't seem to have any input at all in this mess. I just wish he would get more involved and a little more enthused. He also hates drugs so the whole IVF thing scares him Plus he also has to take the antibiotics which means he can't drink beer for a whole 2 weeks. I guess life will end then. Ok, I will stop ranting. Anyway, good luck with both your 2ww.

Hi everyone...how are you all doing....Its snowing badly here :(.. can u belive it this time in april.. huh...

DrJen: Please dont feel so low about everything.. sometimes AF is delayed due to lupron.. I also started my AF 2 days later than expected and had a fairly thin line.. so dont worry and just relax.. and I am sure your DH would not have meant what he sadi.. they also go under the same kind of stress which we go and so sometimes frustration just comes out in a spur of a moment...pls dont take this to heart and dont worry about it...your DH definitelyloves you a lot and cares aboout you..just relax and pray.. accupuncture sounds like a gud idea.. so cheer up :)

Jharris: welcome back.. I am sure you had a great great time at jamaica and must not have felt to come back from there :)..Hows your health doing and everything going at ur end...

Have a great weekend everyone :)
