Hi Esther
Dont worry about the side pains I had them real bad I nearly went to the A & E dept one night, but when I had my scan it was just my ovaries were still swollen. Also the drugs to get you to make eggs stay in your system, so at my first scan I had a few 22cm follicles in my ovaries which will apparently dissapear. The pain is apparently worse is youve got wind or are constipated as the air touches the ovary.
I think the only time you worry is when the pain is constantly on one side and gets unbearable

Big J, I'm so sorry. I'd been following your story and am gutted by your news. I'll be thinking of you and your DH.
Mil and Sher, thanks so much for your reassuring words. I ended up going in for a blood test this morning (at my request) so fingers crossed all will be ok. The nurse said it sounded like it could be the last of the progesterone supps working their way out (yuk!) but I'll just have to wait and see.
Esther, yes I'm getting a few odd twinges too, but they're a bit all over the place. Other than that and mildly sore boobs I'm not feeling any different.
Hope everyone is doing well today - the weekend is in sight, yay!

Me again - just to let you know I got my blood result and all is fine. So relieved - they think the discharge is probably the last of the crinone leaving my system.
So, now I'm definitely going to try and stop over-analysing everything and just wait for my scan!
Have a good weekend everyone,
Deanne

as some of you already know I miscarried our little sweetie on Monday 20th June after a sudden attack of cramps and bleeding that came from nowhere I put the story on the general forum. We are still very much in shock and very sad.
I just want to wish you all well with your pregnancies, and will be popping in to see how you are getting on.
Love to you all

BigJ, am so sorry to hear your news. I hope you can take some time to relax and regroup.
Just when I thought I was feeling better, I had another progesterone shot (am on every other day now) and I was back to feeling awful. I am going to call the doc today and negotiate even less prog. if he will agree. Esther and all others waiting for nausea, I will definitely be here to give you all of my remedies and suggestions when it comes!
I was curious- how many of your physicians have brought up the cerclage subject (esp for multiples)? It seems like things are done a little differently in the UK and Europe (and in different parts of the US, for that matter) and I was wondering how this was handled. I'm a fan of whatever will help me go to term, but he is kind of leaving the decision up to me. Anyone had one in the past?
Also happy to report a major breakthrough- yesterday (9w6d) I got my first abdominal ultrasound! Hooray- looks like I might be leaving the world of the vaginal probe for awhile (not that it is a big deal after everything else that we have been through).
Lastly, I wanted to share a sad story here. I asked my RE's nurse if she had a specific patient who could use all of my leftover meds and she told me about a couple that had saved money for years to do IVF. They went through all the stim, all looked great with tons of eggs, but only one egg was retrieved and didn't fertilize. It turns out that the husband didn't understand the HCG directions and diluted it too much and gave his wife 1/10 of the correct dose. That mistake cost them $8000. Anyway, they are about to start again, and I have enough meds to almost completely cover their cycle (between 1st failed attempt and this one). I just had to share that, as I was so sad after hearing this and I know that our group can understand this story like no one else.
2 failed IUIs (Nov and Dec 2004)
1st IVF failed (April 2005)
2nd IVF BFP+ Twins! (May 2005)
Thank you for sharing that story. I was thinking about doing the same thing - asking my doctor's office if another couple could use my leftover meds. After reading that story, I'm going to make the time to follow-up with my RE.

The thing about giving away meds is a great idea , but we kept ours from last time and used them again for this cycle. I didnt think I'd have another baby, but when I did the meds were still in date, so only give them away if you are sure you dont want them yourself for bubba no 2. I'm glad I kept mine
Its a nice thought to give them away though any way

bigJ:
I'm so sorry to hear about your lose. I hope you feel better soon.
julie:
I know the progesterone shots hurt but remember they are for the good of the baby. They help sustain the baby until your body can produce enough to keep up. I had to take them every day for 4 weeks. I hated every minute of it but it was all worth it in the end. I have never heard of cerclage so I'm not really sure what that is....
Great idea with giving away your meds. I gave all my left over meds to my clinic. They were kind enough to give me some meds during my cycles. It was the least I could do in return.
Sher8:
You need to use the BBCode tickler. Try that and then hit Preview and you will be able to see if it is working or not before you post. Sometimes mine won't work so I hit preview and then I remove the 1st & last line and hit preview again and it works.... No clue why!
Today I had my first appointment with my OBGYN. Everything went fine. She tried to find the heartbeat with the Doppler but my cervix/uterus (one of those, don't remember which) was in the way. So luckily I got my first abdominal ultrasound. The baby on the abdominal scan looks different than the vaginal. I think both of my vaginal pictures look better. But it was really cool. The baby was moving around like crazy. At first I was a little worried because the baby was not moving at all but she said they don't usually move too much at this stage. About that time he/she started to move around and proceed to move the rest of the scan. The heartbeat today was 170. My DH and I are so excited.
