What is hogmany and do you have to take adoptions classes where you live? I was not sure what that was.

Stephjim- I was wondering too what hogmany was too haha  Any word on ideas for the cyst?

Jen- the crap year is almost over!!!! 2008 is our year girl!

Angie- of course I don't have to BUY any POAS I have had 2 boxes in my cabinet for sometime hahaha...won't get rich off me! 6-7 follies sounds awesome to me...if I had that many doing IUIs I think I'd freak!!!!! Your body makes 6-7 QUALITY eggies, not 42 so-so scrambled eggs  Besides, we all know all you need is 1!!!! I've been taking my clomid (early  ). Last pill will be on New Year's Eve. Last time I took it I got my IUI 7 days later. So IF all goes according to plan I hope to have IUI about the 7th!!! Then I get to test 2 weeks later (yeh right like I can wait that long HAHA). This AF is just WHACKED too!!! SHe came on full force, full force for 3 1/2 days (not normal!) now it is pretty much dying off quickly...which is good...just not like the usual! HATE HER! I just wanna shake this cold now so I think it will be a pretty chill weekend...minus having gone out with girl friends to the local pottery place where you paint and they fire it for ya :D fun! Let us know how Sat US goes!...I'll be on the way to the post office to drop in one of my apps for a new job for May 2008...you'd think the govt would get in gear and get digital! Nope I have to send a paper copy in! GAY!

Nims- you rest up girl! I know I would if I needed to...any excuse for a nap for me rocks my world  I sure hope Angie and I can join you guys in a few weeks! I still won't rest til after that US that shows me all is good though! I'm just so scared!!! I hope your cyst goes away too!!! What is the difference between a cyst and the luteal body in the ovary that sustains the pregnancy (produces the progesterone and is where the egg comes out)? I know that your procedure is different than mine so maybe you don't get luteal bodies?? I dunno, but these cyst things are scary!!!! I sure hope the cyst goes away soon and beanie grows grows grows :) Will they scan again so you can get another peek? I sure wish they had a barfy smilie face on these boards, I mean isn't all this stuff in some way related to the need to produce a barfy smilie??? Oh and wut the heck is Cycolgest? ok nevermind I just googled it....aren't there any other brands of progesterone supps you can get? Have you talked to the doc bout oral tabs maybe???? I have no idea why you have problems buying what you need there...everyday in my email inbox I get about 45 emails trying to sell me discounts on all sorts of meds hahaha...let me know if you need some Viagra, I can probably forward you a GREAT DEAL!!!!

Carolyn- yup the world rocked and AF showed...did u fall outta bed that day  did you win at bingo??? I bet those little old ladies would be MAD at you if you did...blue hairs giving dirty looks complete with their lucky trinkets all around...a few troll dolls beheaded when someone else screams out BINGO

Jayne- I love your story!!! (wait you are beachbaby right?? oh no, I'm getting old and forgetting stuff! ARGH That is right your babies are better than SIL's little monster hahaha  Just kidding...bout the kid being a monster...not about yours being better

So I think I covered my life in a nutshell thus far...so much for going to bed early tonight! I better go...I'll be lurking this weekend of course cuz my life is SOOOO exciting! My big plans (other than sleeping, mailing my job app and sleeping some more) I wanna go shopping for groceries so I can use my new Food Saver I got from Santa  Do you guys have those over there??? Probably next to the Crock Pots, huh?

luv ya
Steph

Morning Ladies!
Sorry I've not been around much lately. I've been really tired but have been trying to read and keep up with everyone.

Steph - wooohooo! So Santa brought you AF for christmas. I forget, do you get any scans or is it just down to poas? What's a food saver?

Now we can do the follie dance for you and ICSI
Image Grow, follies, grow!

Rachel - Have fun with the sale shopping. I went for an hour this morning but couldn't really be bothered to fight the crowds. I was tempted to look at baby stuff but it still feels a bit early for me yet. I had a few days of ms between 6 and 7 weeks but it seems to have gone again now. Like you, I'm just catching every cold virus going and its making me so tired.

Jen1d - Sounds like you're really having a rough time still. Here'shoping 2008 will bring you some better luck.
Image

Stephjim - Sorry you've had to wait out another month. That really sucks

Pumma - So sorry for the BFN
Image

Nims - How are you doing?

Not much happening here really. Had another bad cold over christmas so was in bed by 10pm christmas day. Still trying to shake it off and feeling really tired so not been doing much. I had to work 27th but am now off until 2nd Jan so hoping I can just rest and get some energy back by then.
I hope everyone had a great christmas and wishing you all BFPs in the new year.

Rachel- so where does hogmany come from? I just have to say that seems as weird to me as my crock pot and food saver seems to you guys  Did you get some good shopping done??? I LOVE shopping :)

Su- love the happy feet!!!! I have to say this follie dance cracks me up.... Image he's got moves hahaha omg I'm peeing my pants! I don't do any scans, I just pee pee pee. I don't want to get any surge though before next Sunday! Do you have a dance for that??? Glad to hear the MS is minimal, but the colds! UGH yeh they suck! Get your rest! That will help, plus you need it! Oh a Food Saver...about as cool as the crock pot especially for 1 person. It is this machine that sucks the air out of packaging (bags, canisters that sort of thing) that lets you save/freeze food in smaller portions without getting freezer burn so stuff stays much longer(GREAT for us single ladies!). It can be done with stuff just brought home from the store ( you know those packages of chicken that come with like 45 breasts???) or in my case when I make a meal and wind up having to eat it 10 days in a row because there is so much left over! Plus my alterior motive is for when I am pregnant again but this time make it the whole 9 months, I plan on making LOTS of stuff to freeze so after baby comes I have food and have food quickly  I know I won't want to cook at that point!

I'm sick  My mommy gave me her cold on Christmas day!!!! I wanna get rid of it before IUI! I sent out 2 new job apps today(even though I can't switch til May anyways, but it is for the govt so they probably need that long anyways haha). I was hoping to hear back from Angie by now about how her scan went. Ok I better go clean...nah 1st I'm gonna eat lunch  yeah turtles!!! Image

oh dear, every one seems to falling like flies with the cold..... :(

For our US buddies this is for you:

What is Hogmanay?
Hogmanay is celebrated on New Year's Eve, every year, usually in a most exuberant fashion in Scotland as hundreds of thousands of revellers take to the streets to see in the New Year. In the cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh it has become a huge ticketed festival. Celebrations start in the early evening and reach a crescendo by midnight. Minutes before the start of new year, a lone piper plays, then the bells of Big Ben chime at the turn of midnight, lots of kissing, and everyone sings Auld Lang Syne. And then there is more kissing. Elsewhere in Scotland, particularly in more remote parts, customary first footing and Scottish dances, or ceilidhs (pronounced "kayli"), take place. For centuries, fire ceremonies -- torch light processions, fireball swinging and lighting of New Year fires -- played an important part in the Hogmanay celebrations. And they still do.

Where did the word Hogmanay come from
Nobody knows for sure where the word "Hogmanay" came from. Opinions differ as to whether it originated from the Gaelic oge maidne ("New Morning"), Anglo-Saxon Haleg Monath ("Holy Month"), or Norman French word hoguinané, which was derived from the Old French anguillanneuf ("gift at New Year"). It's also been suggested that it came from the French au gui mener ("lead to the mistletoe") or a Flemish combo hoog ("high" or "great"), min ("love" or "affection") and dag ("day"). Take your pick.

Def more a scottish thing than english however we still do the lots of kissing things!! :D Would love to go to scotland and celebrate one year.

ICSI - thats a fabulous number of follies - someone once said to me on here - "its not the number its the quality and rather than all that eggie food being spread around 20 or so, its been spread around 6-7 therefore they are getting more" - I kinda liked that thought and look at me - I only produced 10 last time - need i say more!!! Not as good as Stephs dancer but here's something to get your follies going Image
What a fab birthday present for pappa - we are going away tomorrow for a little r&r so will miss any big news but will be thinking of you and hopefully when I come back on the 1st you should be all set to go

Oh and thanks for the drug site - I manage to find it and i've been in touch.

Steph - poor love - bad mamma for sharing eh!! Thats one thing she shouldn't have given you for christmas. Well, I guess you're the best person to know what drugs to take eh, so hopefully you will get rid of it as quickly as you got it! Thanks for the offer of vigra but on this occassion think I will decline hun!! Yep cyclogest is progestrone so I'm sure there are alternatives, however had some offers of some left overs. Can't help you on the luteal thingy - i just know its a cycst and a bloody big one at that and its still there ! :x due another scan next week and if all is well, released to my Dr and carry on as normal.

Now i have a vacum but doesn't do food!! I just buy little foil tins and put my left overs in that - does that count!!

Jen1d - IT WILL get better honest hun - do you read the daily mail at all? There was an article in there on Friday about a lady - 5 IVF attempts which resulted in 3 pgs (2 twins & 1 singleton), 2 m/c and 1 termination due to a fatal disability with the baby - she decided to go for one last time and gave birth in Dec to a little girl - so please don't ever give up hope and don't forget, you have 2 little frosties waiting for you in Barcelona and 2008 is going to be a great year - kick out 07 and welcome in 08

Su - my pg buddy !! hows things with you?? Like you just so tired and also went sale shopping today and just came home disappointed - no point buying clothes and even the ones in the sale looked bloody awful on me - so we brought two lamps and came home! i'm with you on the baby stuff - made that mistake of getting excited before so we are not thinking or looking just yet not until we are out of the woods and into our 2nd tri.

Well thats it for me folks until 2008 - we are booked into a hotel tomorrow by the coast so can go for some nice walks on the beach and then down to DH friends for NY which is going to be a quiet affair and back on the 1st. So my dear friends - here's wishing everyone a fab new year and may all your dreams come true in 08. Image

Dear All

Sorry that I have not been around much at all girls. Really struggled to pick up the pieces after the 5th BFN on the trot especially after getting my head around donor eggs and felt that the only way to deal was to throw myself manically into Xmas and not think about tmt.

Anyhow, hope that you all got through the festive season as best as you could. We had loads of visitors so it has been mental but has kept me going.

Pumma - so sorry for your -ve babe. Big hugs. Even harder at this time of the year but the pain will ease as the days pass

Jen1d - big hugs babe. Feel for you

Rachel - I am off to sales with dh today

Anyway, really wanted to thank you all for your fab support and say

Image

Hope that it brings us all everything that we wish for.

Lots of Love to you all.
Carolyn

(the one posted HERE....haven't done the facebook thing yet......) just wasn't sure cuz of all the advertisements/crap they put out here in our messages.... your food saver sounds fab!!! although - having 2 teenage boys pretty much eliminates the need for a food saver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO EXCITED that we are going to be SO close in our 2ww!!!!! it was meant to be!! hope you're feeling better chica -- it SUCKS to come down w/ cold.... OH and what kind of govt job you applying for/where?? curious... am guessing is comparable pay??? will keep my fingers crossed for ya -- but more hoping for our BFP's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi lovely ladies!!!

Image

I get to work it...well til 10pm at least. Then I get to go back the next day at 8am...yeh so not likely I will ring in the New Year in any sort of exciting way!!!! Oh well..I need to rest up and grow my follies :)I am feeling twinges on both sides this month! I know it is early and they are both growing, I just have no clue what side I will O from now. I just don't want to have to go in for my IUI before the 7th ok!!! My weekend in hell, uh work, could put a damper on things if I have to go in next weekend! I'm shooting for the 7th!

Angie- nope that isn't Moose...but he is a cutie pie isn't he...I just found him while looking for things to post here and love it cuz it had turtles...I love turtles...hard to tell here but I LOVE TURTLES!!!! In fact, my mom and I went shopping today and OMG AT Old Navy they are bringing out the new season stuff....we wandered into baby section  OMG OMG OMG!!! They had the cutest line with all this turtle stuff!!!! I bought 1 of everything!!!!!! The colors are blue and green, but it is neutral enough that it won't look too boyish on a girl!! Besides I don't care...it is TURTLES!!!!

The cold is doing much better. I think 2 days of Mucinex will do the trick! It is amazing how quickly this stuff goes away now that my tonsils are missing!!!! BEST body part I ever lost!!!!! Image

I'm so glad you are getting out of the dark ages and getting high speed internet!!!! Perfect b-day present!!! Sorry that transfer may not take place on hubby's b-day but it is sooo close!!!! Seee, more follies the longer you wait! I sure hope I'm not competing with ya on numbers here hahaha. If you transfer the 8th then how many days after do you test???

Here is a little prayer for our eggies

Well I called the office and told my doctor about the last finding because he was off that day and a different doc saw me. They seemed surprised that he did not give me BCP since it was the 2nd US with a follicle/cyst on the left ovary. So they said that I will have to wait until day three again and if it is still there they will give me BCP. Ugh!!! So here is to all cysts/follicles not being in the picture at that time.

Actually, this month I was very dilligent about doing my ovulation test and I actually got a surge yesterday so hopefully our activity yesterday and today will pay off. I got it around 10am so according to the instructions, it sounds like I have until 10pm tonight to do it right? 24-36 H Can you still get pregnant after ovulation? I forget.
Let's hope for a natural pregnancy this month. It will save us a lot of money. right?
