Hi Becky

What a great idea! We are going to have another go in August so I am in limbo really, although I do want to see my April buddys through it is obviously over for us for now.

We are the same - paying for a private go whilst waiting for our NHS number to come up!

Lets see if we can get the dec/jan survivors over here!

LOL Charlie x
Me 30, DH 29
3 x IVF & 1 FET all BFN

Becky, Rachel - Please please can I be allowed to join you both. 8)

Charlie - Nice to meet you although wish circumstances were different for all of us. I was right at the very start of Dec-Jan thread but then took some time out over Xmas and you'll see from my ticker that I have had another round since then too! Same result - it is getting very boring

The nhs funding is a total joke in this country.........what more can we all say

Here is my plea. I am moving clinics in London. Hammersmith to ARGC. Hoping that their different approach will bring me & dh a very different outcome. Everything for me has to be private as I am over 4-0. 4-1 at the end of May. ARGGGHHHH

They wany to run loads of new tests on me before I can start at the new clinic. Kicked off yesterday with them taking 17 vials to send to Chicago for immune testing!!! Have to have D1 bloods off my April AF, D2 re-tests for HIV etc as my others are more than a year old. Then scan at D10/D13. OPK and then bloods 5 days after my surge. Then they want to do a hysterscopy. Then they test your bloods on each D2 and will only let you start when you have a low FSH. :? So I am on the May-June thread in the hope that it is low in May and I can start. But in reality, I have been told that it may be at least 3 months wait before I can cycle.

If you girls feel like left overs, I am a left over now from April-May 06 thread, Dec-Jan and now Feb 07. Nothing like feeling you are dragging up the rear

Is that enough limbo to be part of this thread. I so want some UK pals so we can discuss Grease and Joseph each Saturday evening   Are you all watching???

Becky - did you ask them how long it might take for you to move up the wait list? What a bummer.

Rachel - sweetie - how are you doing on the weight loss? You did so well last week. I am trying to be good but it is hard isn't it

Short week has been cool and we are meant to have fab weather this weekend. 8) Lifts the spirits. Have great weekends. I am shopping in town tomorrow am. My sister and I are going to visit the new Primark on Oxford St looking for bargains. Then in the pm I shall watch the Grand National prior to an evening in front of box! Not sure about Sunday, dh thinks that he is going to get a round of golf in early but maybe I shall force him to take me out for the pm if it is warm and sunny.

Let me know if I pass the admission test to this thread.

Lots of Love
Carolyn

Hi,

We are on the waiting list too. I'm on the waiting list for a lap, and haven't heard anything yet (4 months now). How do you find out what number you are in the queue?

After 1.5 years of seeing doctors we haven't even been referred to the fertility clinic yet! So I don't even know how ling that would take. They said they would refer us after the lap. But we have decided to go private as we don't even know how long the waiting list is. And there is talks of scrapping fertility treatments off the NHS. Why don't people understand the turmoil we go through???!!!

We don't have any children at all, and are dying to hold a baby in our arms.

Hi Ladies

It is nice to see some UK ladies!

Becky - I don't know exactly where we are on the NHS waiting list - we were told 2008 sometime. We joined the list in June 2006. Our last go was a private go courtesy of Capital one credit card! The hospital that we went to is both private and NHS. We are fortunate enough to get 2 free goes on the NHS. We can afford to have one more fresh private cycle and then we will have to wait till out number comes up! We may use up any frosties we have too inbetween, but really hoping it won't come to that! This is the last day of my holiday too - I've had 2 weeks of as I am a teacher. Really don't want to go back Monday! Hope you spoilt yourself at the shops and hope you enjoy your barbie and your larger! The x-factor tour sounded great but the Mcdonald brothers - are you sure?!

Rach - hiya sweet!

Carolyn - I think you more than meet the criteria! Wow 17 vials of blood  Thats alot of tests! I hope you get your low FSH score asap! I'm so sorry I don't watch Grease or Joesph either! I may start now though! Did you find yourself any bargains in the new Primark?

Angel505 - I think I waited about 6 months for my lap - you should be able to phone your hospital to find out where you are on the list! I was put on the IVF waiting list straight after the lap, but we had already been with our fertility specialists for about 8 months. Have you had any investigations yet? Good luck to you!

As for me, AF arrived today and is being a complete beotch, so I am having a duvet day! We have our follow up appointment with consultant on 1st May, and we think we would like to cycle agin in August as I would not need to take any time off work. It will also give us time to save and time for me to lose some weight! I have put so much on in the last 4 months - so diet officially starts Monday - I have been and bought Nell McAndrews work out dvd so I will look like her in no time! I also start playing netball again next week after a 1 year break!

Hope everyone is well!

Thanks Charlie. I will call the hospital to find out. The problem is half the time they don't even pick up the phone!

Yes, both of us have had investigations. All my other tests had been fine up to the HSG, in which the doc said that the dye did not spill out of either tube. So we don't know what to expect really. We can't handle a double whammy. The doc said that as we have to do IVF anyway, and my other vtests are ok, hopefully we will be able to proceed with the treatment.

Angel - just keep pestering them - go down there if necessary!
I wish you every luck with IVF -I'm sorry you have to go down the route of donor sperm, it must have been a tough decision. Obviously IVF bypasses the need for your tubes, so with all your other tests looking good you have as good a chance as possible.

I am in limbo too!! Can I join, please, can I, pretty please, huh, huh, can I!!!!

DH and I have a loooooooooong history!! We have been trying for 14 years, I was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer a little over a year ago, I am now officially Coochie Cancer free and we thought that was it, poof, no cancer, it's time for a baby... not so lucky - DH went for his fishy check and was unfortunately misdiagnosed with a motility problem... in reality he has funny shapped sperms and his count is 24 Million with 11 million good swimmers and I have Toxic mucus... they did and IUI originally with no success... and we were told that IVF was overkill for us, we went to a new RE on Tuesday and found out that we need to do IVF... so we are saving money - its $20K to do IVF, and our insurance doesn't cover it...

After AF arrives which should be today we are going to do the Clomid Challenge... I cannot believe no one's thought to do that before, don't you think all that cancer treatment could, uh, I don't know kill the eggs! DUH! Dumb Doctors! So when that's done we'll know how to proceed...

Limbo enough to join ya'll?

Hey Welsh girl - fantastic topic for a thread - I have joined May/June thread as I didn't know where else to go (no offence may/june girls) but also hoping thats when I can start my next round of treatment so jumped right in!!

I'm so glad you are giving this another go and hope that you get to the top of that list real soon. Have a fun barbie tonight.

So technically not so much in limbo but its nice to see some old buddies again from previous threads so please please may I join

My story is very simple really - we have been ttc about 3yrs - all test results show nothing abnormal so its just the case that my eggs and his sperm just don't get on basically :( Had first round of IVF in Sept resulted in a BFP but unfortunately the heart beat went and I ended up with a D/C. Just finished round 2 and AF arrived before test date - so we are picking ourselves up and dusting down and moving on to round 3.

We applied some time ago for NHS funding, however due to waiting lists etc we went private for the first 2, and on Saturday just before AF arrived, we received our letter to say that it had been approved - a sign I say :D . It's at the same clinic so fortunately we can just continue when we are ready.

Rachel - hiya so great so 'see' you again - how are you - really sorry it didn't work out last time.

Hi there Carolyn - are we being naughty - slipping in here whilst we are on the may/june thread?? have fun shopping tomorrow. It suspose to be a glorious day.

Angel/Charlie /Melissa - hi nice to meet you, sad it's here on this site but I'm sure we can each other company whilst waiting - it seems thats all we ever do on IVF!.

catch up later

Thank you for letting me join your widdle group! Now I feel all cozy and welcome! 8)

Welshgirl - We just decided last night to visit Ireland, I am not sure where, but probably around St. Patty's Day next year. I am in Florida now... so if you ever come this way, let me know! This isn't actually taking Clomid - this is a blood test to see if my eggs are actually viable. If they are great! If not we have a whole nother ball of problems. We shall see, AF arrived today, she is very timely. So we shall see... Clomid Challenge is in 21 days from today. I think, that reminds me, I should call the RE.

Nimble - I am so glad you are here! I have secretly been keeping track of you on the other threads. So I am glad you here, nice to officially meet you, and I wanted to put in my 2 pennies - I am SO happy to hear of your approval!!! That is a sign that you should jump right back in the saddle! I am keeping you in my prayers!

Rachel - Nice to officially meet you too!

Charlie - THanks for the very warm welcome! And thanks for staritng this thread! It's gonna be fun chatting with you guys while we are in the middle of things! Everyone has "a something" so we are all humbled by one another and we are all in this rollercoaster together. Right? Right!

Angel - I am sorry that you have to go the the donor route, but honestly it's not that bad, right! I mean you both go through this together! It could be worse! I'll keep you and DH in my prayers!

Becky - I am sorry the NHS waiting list is such a PIA! At least you have some time to do what you have to do, right. I sort of wish the US had some sort of NHS waiting list!!!

Carolyn - So nice to meet you, as well!

I think that's it... so AF arrived today, I just left a message for the Nurse at the RE... we'll see... I guess I need to change my ticker, huh!

SO glad to be apart of this group!

YIPPPEEEE!
