Preggo ladies--Kholtan and Kimi--come find ME on facebook! (Kimberly Miller Ulrich)....I had a major addiction a while back, but I've calmed down....I'm better about posting pics there since only my friends can see them.

Suga--I'm sorry, but I'm going to be a hard ass here. But I think it's for your own good. You have been through a HELL of a time carrying, delivering, and caring for two babies. Once sleep comes, you will feel better and more motivated. You are right--when you're tired, you stress eat...which of course, isn't good. Okay--hard ass time---Your DH is caught between a rock and a hardplace. We women give them no choice when we discuss our weight. There's no answer he could give that would make you feel better, you know? So, DON'T ASK DH if he thinks your fat....he can't win for trying. Now--toss the lucky charms. DON'T buy any reese's....plop your girls in the stroller...WALK, WALK, WALK or run or skip or whatever to get your hiney moving. Exercise helps produce endorphins in your body which will help you feel better...which will encourage you to eat better and sleep better. I know some people don't like to exercise, but do it. Pick something that you can do with the girls and do it....as much as you can. The weather is getting nicer these days, so you should be able to take nice long walks. I have to exercise nearly every day in order to keep my weight in check. This winter I've been naughty myself---all that cookie making we've been doing. So, today, I started back on my Weight Watcher's plan---just to help me keep track of my eating habits. It helps me tow the line, so to speak. I'm not a big girl, but even an extra 8-10 pounds on my frame is a big difference. Okay....now go....find something and do it. The food thing will balance itself out once you're moving. And when you stop buying tempting goodies. Good luck, kiddo. We all want you to be successful and happy. And it WILL happen. Just take baby steps....until you get some more confidence. I'm sorry if you think I'm a ***** for being this way, but I know that I need a kick in the arse every once-in-a while too...we all do. So, consider me your bitchy trainer, if you need me to be.

As for us, the kids and I spent the entire afternoon outside. The kids were playing while I was pruning bushes and weeding the flower beds...come on SPRING!!!! :D

Kim~ I will try to find you on facebook. I just started doing this and haven't actually tried to look anyone up yet so I'll see what I can figure out. I just started using it at all this week but it's addicting! I think I'm under Kimberly Holtan if I can't find you.

Kimberly- are you the one with the jet ski profile photo? I suspected it but wasn't sure (on facebook). I found Kim pretty easily. You just have to search using the name she provided.

Suga -- how are you doing dear? I am proud to say, I refrained myself from eating a bowl of icecream last night!

Happy St. Patrick's day! Are you wearing green today? I thought I would buy corned beef but holly cow that is very fatty!! 50% saturated fat? No thank you!!

Buckeye: I had to laugh during your whole charade on the weight. I should not have done so but it reminded me of Jillian from the Biggest Loser? I will call you Jillian from now on! haha! No I know I have no excuses (other than being tired which I can get over with loads of caffine). I also do not complain too much to him, he just recently started doing looks and I was like: What the crap dude?! Then it all unfolded. Oh well.

Kim I am under Machelle Arrison (FSU alumni) picture of the girls is my profile picture.

tolbee: Yay on not eating icecream! that stuff is not allowed in our house...I actually am not that huge of a fan of it but if it is here I will eat it!

Happy St. patties Day!

Ok, for the past 2 days, garlic has been making me nauseated...just like, well you know when. Just a fluke I am sure of it! No other symptoms and the test said no a few days ago. I will take another one in a week or so to make sure because my periods are so crazy.

Thanks girls for finding me on facebook. I'm just getting the hang of that thing. Oh yeah, that is me on the jet ski in the rapids on the Payette river. The craziest thing so far is that the posts aren't all about babies! I figured I would put up an actual picture of me this time.

Suga~ Who knows? I am still not certain you aren't pg!

Any ideas on how to make Brooke nap better? She honestly wakes up after 45 minutes each nap and I either make her cry herself back to sleep (if she is not screaming TOO loud) or I get her up for a bit, let her play, look for sleep cues and put her back to bed. But it is getting old! I mean she has to wake up and burp...she screams until I go in there and burp her. I try to put her back down but she yells so loud she wakes up Kenzie most of the time so I had to stop doing that. There is no room in our apartment to put her anywhere else or I would. So she just does not nap well during the day.

So last night, my husband (he leaves for work at 3:30AM) comes back in the room before leaving and states....MACKENZIE IS ON HER STOMACH! I am like, yeah ok flip her back over....he does that then comes back in...SHE FLIPPED AGAIN!! So I am like ok well go get her crib wedge and put it under her so she will not do it. He does that and I hear him leave for work. 5 seconds later I hear...bababa oooo aahhhh....I am like CRAP he woke her up!! So I go check on her in the living room and sure enough she is awake!! She stayed awake for like 30 minutes. Would not have been bad but he woke me up too with all that commotion! I called and told him that next time, use his head and get the wedge himself or just let her be or do whatever you want to but do not wake me up unless it is an emergency! It takes me FOREVER to fall back asleep!

But here comes the question...should I let her sleep on her stomach? I mean the only thing I have against it is SIDS but I think she has gotten out of the danger zone with that? Also, she can not get herself off her tummy so I am sure when she woke up she would yell at me wanting to get back over onto her back. (She can only do back to tummy...I know she did it backwards than "normal" development).

Hi there ladies! Are you guys having problems with uploading pics on Blogspot? Everytime I do that, our internet connection gets disconnected and I have to boot up the router everytime.

Suga -- well, it realy depends on you of course, but I would let her sleep on tummy if she rolls over by herself. She can lift her head up so I don't think there are any problems. I used to get nervous, too, but actually after certain age, my kids started to sleep on tummy on their own. About nap, I don't know what to tell you on that one... Aly does the same thing and I just let her get up now because she still sleeps ok at night and she's not cranky normally.

Aly has transitioned out of Nutramigen finally! She's on Similac Advance and she has no problems with it. We'll put her on whole milk when the formula runs out. Now the big topic would be to ditching the bottles. How did your little ones handle the transition? Noah's not too excited about it :( .

I have to start packing for the hospital! I will be delivering in 5 weeks!? You know how fast a week goes by... I am very excited of course, but starting to get pretty nervous. With singleton pregnancy with no complications, I only saw the baby three times so far in the ultrasound and I have no idea how big she is now. I am hoping she'll be big so that she'll take less time to sleep through the night! But this baby is so active I am honestly not sure when she sleeps. I hope it's not an indication of her sleeping habits once out!

Anyway, better make dinner while the kids nap. I am so sure Aly's going to wake up any minute!

Suga--no idea on the nap issue. Sometimes my kids had to cry it out, but that may not work for you. Hopefully it's just a short phase? As for tummy sleeping, I understand your worry....but I would also probably let her sleep on her tummy. There's actually been some recent research that shows having a fan in the baby's room decreases the chance of SIDS just as much as sleeping on the back. PLUS, sleeping on the tummy is supposed to be much better for their brain development. I, personally, didn't let my kids sleep on their tummy until they could roll from tummy-to-back...but I hadn't heard of that fun research then either. Good luck! Hope DH doesn't wake you up again tonight!

Kimi--5 weeks! Wow! How exciting! My kiddos didn't really have any issues with dropping their bottles. We had played with sippy cups for several months and then just gradually transitioned to them. They actually were off bottles when they turned 1. That being said, my kids were never really "attached" to their bottles like some kids can be. Good luck!

Hi Ladies!
Long time no communication..sorry! I am so impressed you all have time to post! These girls take up all my days!!!!
I know alot of you did Babywise and I was feeling so on top of it a month ago. But now here I sit, with Lucy and Scarlett 4 months old plus and we are having a HELL of a time at night! I do the schedule in the day, never let them nap more than 2 hours (usually their naps are much shorter, only one 2 hour one a day). They will not sleep at night. How on earth can you let them settle themselves back down at night when they wake up and dont need to be fed? Im losing my mind here! Scarlett has the loudest cry, she would wake up the whole household! And Lucy has a mellow cry but if she wakes Scarlett up we are back to square one again. Did anyone seperate the babies this early? Any tricks to getting them to SLEEP>! lol. We never turn on lights, only change diaper if necessary, dont talk, etc etc but they are sometimes wide awake for hours and we are getting no sleep! My poor older kids have to deal with my short temper due to being tired all the time....I feel like you all had it so under control at this point!
Help!!!!

Sarah I am so sorry about the no sleep. I totally feel you! Mackenzie wakes up around 4AM and talks for like an hour and a half, usually goes back to sleep without crying. Honestly, I let them cry it out for a few nights and they got the hint that I am not getting them for anything. I only console them if they get WAY out of hand. I also have had to resort to making Kenzie sleep in the living room at the moment until she stops this talking. I say, if you can, separate them for a few days and let them cry it out. they will get the hint eventually.

Sarah

Quick reply.

Yes, we seperated our twins at about three months old as they kept waking each other up when they cried but not for the night sleeps. Even now, they are 21 months and I still do not put them in the same room to sleep during the day.

You can only try it to see how it works for you and hugs about the lack of sleep.

No time to post more unfortunately, I am reading but up to my neck in assignments - I think I am sinking somewhat!

Oh ladies!
Thank you for the advice, you really are the best resource always! Amen!!
I let them cry it out for five to ten min tonight. It was so hard but I guess they have to learn the self soothing thing. We will see how it works at 2 am!!

Hi Sara,

So sorry for the sleep problem you are having with your little ones. If she isn't hungry, then like others said you might want to try CIO. My twins are 13 months and they sleep separately. I want to move my daughter back in her brother's room very soon, but once you separate them it is very tempting to keep as is because it's working so well. Now we are having a new baby in a month, we really need to reclaim the living room so we don't have a choice. I have an older son, too, so I understand your dilemma. When the twins cry at night, I am afraid he's going to wake up and become sleep deprived... but that has not happend yet! It might be tough for a couple of weeks the most but I think after that the kids should get used to it. At least that's what I hear from everyone else. Good luck! and hope you can nap during the weekend. It really is hard when you don't get enough sleep and have all these children to care for and house to manage.

Where is everyone else!? They must be enjoying the nicer weather! Over here, it's in high 40s to low 50s and it's getting warmer. Not much sunshine yet but it will come soon. Nesting instict hasn't kicked in yet and I am hoping I get it soon so that I have a more prepared home for the new baby. I remember I was scrubbing the floor on my knees before I had my first-born. My appetite is very low at the moment probably due to baby pressing on my stomach. I have more heartburn also and don't feel like eating I had a bowl of fruit salad for lunch and that was it. I probably should take a protein shake for the missed real meal.

Anyways, twins are napping beautifully today and that just makes my day! I am almost done with dinner cooking as well! yippie!! Now off to do millions of other things on my list...

Take care!! Hang in there Sara~
