Wisconsingal,

I am so sorry. I can't even imagine how you and your dh must feel. Please know we are all thinking about you. Good luck in the future and when you do have your little baby it will know how much you went through and how much it means to you. Big hugs.

Wisconsingal, i'm so sad to hear your news. I know you and DH have been working so hard at this for awhile. take a little time for yourself and take care. I pray you will be able to start again soon.

Sorry I've been MIA so long. I'm still nauseous and feeling icky. Not long to go til i get to the 2nd tri, so i'm expecting to feel better soon (fingers crossed). I hope I'm not like my MIL, she had MS for 4 mo. I had my last US with the clinic at 9wks 6ds and the twins are looking good. I've been weened off all meds and discharged to an OB, woooohoo!

I defintely look slightly PG. I know I was a little bloated all along though. people probably think that it's bloat anyway  . My step sister is PG with twins and she said she was slowly growing the 1st tri and when she got to 13 wks it seemed like her belly was doubling every week. at 18 weeks she looks like she's 6 mos.

Hey Mia! Glad to hear you're hanging in there. I promise, it does get better. It was like overnight for me! Such a difference between week 13 and week 14!

I saw my doc yesterday and we scheduled the ultrasound in 3 weeks. I'm sooooo excited to find out the sex! It seems like this pregnancy is just flying by now that I feel better. Still not looking pregnant, although one of the doctor's at my clinic today mentioned how big my boobs are looking. Luckily, I took it as a compliment and just let it go

Hope you're all feeling well and that babies are doing good!

Hi ladies,

had my 12-week scan today and everything looked good! CRL was almost 6cm and the size matched the calendar age exactly (12w3d). Sooo happy and relieved!!! Next week I'll have a blood screen and a nuchal sono with a specialist.

Another fun piece of news - a bump appeared yesterday morning! So far I had had a lot of bloating in the evenings but by morning my stomach would be flat. Now there's a clearly visible roundness to it - well, clearly visible to me :D An outsider would probably think it's just a small potbelly but we know that it's much happier news

Hope you're all doing well!

Hi ladies...first of all CONGRATS to all of you who (as me) will be having Autumn babies this year.
I went through my first ever IVF cycle in Jan/Feb, transfer was on 2/5/07 and on Valentine's day I got the news that DH and I were pregnant, it was surreal...we could not believe it! On 3/1 we had our first U/S and the surprise was even bigger when we found out it was twins!!!! Can you believe it? I have been very bloated since, not much of M/S (thank God) but dizzy and on 3/5/07 I began with some bleeding that later became brown spotting, then brown discharge, then some more blood (not as much as the first time) back to spotting/discharge and as of 3/23 nothing thank God! Since 3/5 though the doctor put me on strict bed rest through 4/11 (which is my 12th week). I've had no cramps and I've had 3 U/S since and thank God both babies are ok and growing. The U/S though showed 2 very large ovarian cysts, my OB believes that they were caused by the stim. drugs...and he's afraid they might burst and I might need surgery which will definitely put the babies at risk.

I was wondering - has anyone gone through anything similar?

bleeding

Post by boomer »

ixi 414,

i too have had bleeding. We had our 1st u/s on wedensday and got great news - twins !!! I woke up one night last week with cramping and spotting which then turned into brown discharge. During my u/s everything looked fine though. Then this morning, i woke up around 4am with cramping and spotting again - both of which have stopped. It's driving me crazy - i was worried so much to begin with and now i have 2 babies to worry about. My doctor office opens soon so i'm going to call them in a few minutes and see what they say. Last time they told me to stay on bed rest till the symptoms subsided for 24 hrs straight so i called out of work today. Will keep you posted !

maternity clothes

Post by boomer »

Question:

If you are pregnant with twins, should you still buy maternity clothes in your pre-pregnancy size or should you go up one size considering you will be bigger with two babies???

Hi girls,

I had my u/s yesterday and it was so fun!! I am supposed to be 10 weeks 4 days, but I was measuring a little smaller. But it was so fun to see the baby so formed! He/She was wiggling all around and had a great heartbeat he/she even had their arm out with their fingers apart we told my 3 year old they were waving to him! My dr. said he may have been concerned about the measuring smaller, but the fetal movement, heartbeat, and develpment were great. He said maybe I implanted a little late. Anyone ever measure a little smaller and still was fine?? We're not too worried at this point, but after being through so much it's hard not to worry even a little bit.

Hope you all are doing well. I got my first case of indigestion and it is not fun. Especially along with m/s. I now vow to not eat fried foods because I do not want to feel like this ever again!! Have a great weekend.

Shanny--How small was the baby measuring? I was told that if it's within a week it's not a big deal. It is fun to see them on ultra sound, huh? I was so used to doing it every week when we still went to the Re--now that we're at the regular ob we don't get them very often. Only at 20 weeks, so I've got another few weeks to go. She's going to let me do it at 19 weeks since I'm so excited!

Meg,

That makes me feel much better!! We were only about 4-5 days off. My RE only did the u/s twice- once at 6 weeks once at 10 weeks. That would have been nice to go every week! I'm the same way with my ob, I'll have to settle for just listening to the heartbeat until 20 weeks. Thanks for the reply!

Janine,

Hi - What did the Dr. tell you? I know it's crazy how you get the symptoms for a couple of days then they go away and come back. Your best bet is bed rest, I know it's frustrating I've been doing it for over 4 weeks now and I feel depressed and frustrated sometimes being locked up in the house and most of the day in bed...but once you begin thinking that it's for the babies' sake and when you go to the dr. and hear their little hearts or see them on the ultrasound it's an amazing feeling and you realize no amount of bed rest can frustrate you! LOL
Are you still bloated? I'm so bloated, none of my regular clothes fit. I have bought a couple of maternity pants a size bigger (10) than my normal size (8) and I was just telling DH today thay I'll have to get bigger bras very soon because my regular 34C fit so tight already.
Hope everything else is going ok and lots of positive thoughts! Remember that they say that 40% of women who get pregnant through IVF bleed the first trimester...so try not to worry too much :)
BTW - when are you do?

Good morning everyone!!! WOW~ Lots of new fall babies! So glad to hear there are more expecting twins as well! It's so much fun to hear what everyone is doing and how the babies are growing!

We finally hit our 12 week marker a few days ago!!! YEAH!!!!! What a relief to see that get here and start our new goal of 28 weeks. Time seems to be flying by so quickly now. We get our nuchal test done Tuesday and hopefully we will go home with smiles. The babies measured small in the beginning and then an my last u/s they were perfect but I am not showing and haven't gained weight so we are doing the test to make sure things are well.

Maternity clothes!!! EEEEKS! I'm not planning on buying them until I need them. I know with twins I will eventually be huge but I don't want to get things too big and look like a tarp walking around. The style right now really caters to PG mothers so I'm hopeful that I won't have to get too many maternity pants and shirts that I won't wear again. I have the minimal plan going on. . .for now!

Hope everyone is doing great! TAke care and rub the babies for me!

hi there

Post by boomer »

ixi414,
Thank you for writing back - i spoke to the nurse at my RE's office on friday and she said that I did the right thing by calling out of work and keeping off my feel till the bleeding stopped. And the bleeding did stop (it was never heavy) and now i'm just having some brown discharge. The nurse said that it is not indicative of miscarriage unless i start to bleed heavy or have pain that doubles me over. She said some woman go the entire pregnancy bleeding on/off and they are fine ! Funny you mentioned the bra thing because my favorite bra broke today ( i stretched it as much as possible !!) and i had to buy the next size up.
I'm feeling very bloated ! my jeans still fit but they are getting pretty tight so today I ordered some maternity jeans/pants from JC Penny online - and I ordered them one size up since i'm carrying twins - hope i made the right choice ! I'm due on november 19th but i was reading that twin pregnancys tend to deliver 3 wks early. My next ultrasound is thursday, april 5th - i'll let you know how it goes :-) When is your due date? - janine
