RunnerKate - Congratulations on AF! I would think the spotting has to count as it starting. Did they confirm that with you?
That is crazy that the dr get's pissy when you ask questions. How else does he think you are going to find out the answers?
Did they tell you what they are going to do about the cyst? It sounds like you definitely had a frustrating experience. I hope the do better for you soon!
I have no idea about the Lupron. A nurse told me the Lupron was to quiet down the system in preparation for when they stimulate but never mentioned a ""menopausal" state so I hadn't really thought about it.

LB - I had a couple munchkins last night! Thanks for the tip. I was running around and didn't make it to Dunkin Donuts until around 9:30 but wanted to make sure I got there and got my good luck. I am not that superstious or anything but figure I will do all I can for good luck. :)

Is anyone going to have pineapple during ER/ET timeframe? My dr isn't aware of any studies that it works but said it couldn't hurt so I figured I'd give it a try. I just bought a 4 pack of individual servings and they are pretty tasty. At the least, I am getting another fruit into my daily diet. :)

I will be annoyed if Angelina has twins. I have nothing against them, I am just getting really frustrated to hear of people wanting children and then as soon as they say that, they have them. And, more than one at that. Many more in their case. I know I am just jealous but why can't that happen to everyone?

I had heard "The Secret" really good for motivation. I am not sure there are CDs for it. I don't know much about it but it seems to be getting some attention. Does anyone know anything about this?

Positive thoughts and good luck to everyone!

kbat - Good luck dealing with your clinic frustrations too. I hope they get all the information they need without you having to pick it up. That's just too much!

I don't know if my post worked our not.
It either didn't, or I posted the same thing 6 times.
I can't take any more computer issues so I am giving up. :(

RunnerKate - CONGRATS! at least AF has arrived!!! You get a light period on Lupron I believe...which is why I think the dose for IVF is so low. When I was on Lupron for 6 months that really put me in menopause and stopped everything as a preventative care for Endo...I think Lupron for IVF surpresses and allows them to "trigger" ovulation when they want...I know my RE/Nurse both said start Lupron and call when AF arrives...then they'll do day 3 bloodwork and if it checks out I start stimming...

sorry about the cyst and the poking and the doctor's bad mood
I don't know much about cysts etc.

itsgottawork - I am eating almonds and pineapple every week this month...not everyday but have incorporated it into my diet. I don't think a doctor would say it helps but it can't hurt! I've cut out booze and get half decaf coffee in the morning - I know caffeine is a no no but I don't think half a cup a day is going to make or break this cycle!

IrishHope - this is odd. I can only see your posts when I go to reply.
Hopefully someone will fix the problem.

I hadn't heard anything about almonds. But, I will try that too. I almost packed some for a snack today but took miniature marshmellows instead. I am certain those won't help but they are low in calories. :)

Wow.. something strange is going on this site.. posts are showing up multiple times! I hope someone would fix it!

RunnerKate - congrats on the AF. Looking forward to mine hopefully next week. What bloodwork did they do? I was told about an ultrasound before starting stims, but don't remember any blood work. Guess I will ask them when I go for my ultrasound. I already have my ultrasound appt scheduled - so I guess it doesn't have to coincide with AF. Its crazy that your dr doesn't like too many questions! I would assume that the cyst might probably be harmless if they weren't worried about it - but they should have told you so.

IrishHope - thanks for the feedback on lupron.. I seem to be having sleepless nights on it!! But will survive.

Regarding pineapple/almond - I haven't specifically included these in my diet. Since I started my acupuncture, they did advocate several diet changes that I am trying to follow - lot of protein (I am vegetarian), complex carbs (so no white bread/rice - replaced these with brown rice, ezekiel bread, brown rice torrilla from TJs), greens like chard etc etc.. I don't know if this would all really help, but these all seem like good changes so I am trying to follow them as much as I can. Whatever helps I guess!

Have a great day everyone!

RunerKate ~ YEA!!! Congrats! I just knew she would come soon. I have had a small cyst before also. My doc did another ultrasound just to be sure that it went away on its own. I don't think it's a huge deal, at least it didn't seem to be. My doc said that she just wanted to be sure that it wasn't something that would need to be "explored" so that it wouldn't interfere with the IVF cycle (maybe concern for overstimulation?). Hopefully yours will just go away on its own too and you won't have to worry about it.

I hope everyone else is doing fine! My meds should arrive in all of their splendor today. I'm excited to get them and get everything organized. I NEVER thought I would be so looking forward to a shot!

Best to you all!!!

Kbat - sorry to hear what you are going through. I had a similar issue - before my first IVF cycle in Dec. RE wanted my last pap results and I had to call the doc who last did it - which was 2 docs ago, who claimed they would fax the results. Of course they never did, and since my year was almost up anyway, I just got my annual exam done by a nurse in RE's office - it was fine I was just worried having to wait 2 weeks for the pap results would delay things but it turned out ok. Doctor's offices can be so frustrating!

Kate - congrats on AF! I am now waiting too and will start my stims when she gets here. I know it is weird, but you do get the first u/s while you have AF - gross but necessary.

I am having a down day right now. Just had lunch with some friends from my old job, one of whom is pregnant, and not only were there 3 other pregnant bellies in the place, we were gossiping and at least 5 names came up of people who are expecting, most with #2. I am really having trouble staying positive for this cycle and find myself being bitter at all of these pregnant people, even close friends!! I am going to try acupuncture again, but anyone else have some good tricks to keep up the PMA? I haven't been exercising much so maybe that will help as well too. Thanks!
