94 is fine...anything over 50 is considered a healthy beta!!! My 1st one was only 160 on day 16 so it was probably 80 on 14!!!

CONGRATS!! Wow, so good to hear about another BFP. Last week I was telling DH how it seemed like this group was going to have a lot, and then not so much. That is so exciting and gives so much hope for anyone doing an FET. I have heard of another woman who transferred one FET and now has a healthy baby boy.

My clinic wants betas to be around 100, so you are right there (especially since you went in early). So exciting! :D

BG - CONGRATULATIONS on your healthy beta and BFP! I am soo, soo happy for you!

I know, I for one am taking a lesson from you.....with everything you've been through and all the odds stacked up against you (one to thaw!) - and still you got a BFP. Your story will help me regain PMA when I need it!

Congratulations again to you and your DH - I'm sorry you haven't been able to get a hold of him yet - how thrilled he will be!!! :D

Thank you ladies for your beautiful words. I definitely do believe in keeing a PMA. This is the first time i kept myself positive and i think the accupuncture helped me with that. So don't give up as it only takes one. Still scared and hope my beta goes up but i guess there will be always be uncertainty. I will just enjoy the moment.

As soon as I get my official BFN - I'm setting up an appointment with an acupuncturist - you two have sold me!

btw - i'm at the hospital waiting for my hubby, he is having a minor elective procedure done (nothing to worry about) - but I'm bored - so thanks for all the entertainment from the board!

I had never done it before and it was not what I expected. I am a hyper person so it was hard lying still on your back for 40 minutes but ALL WORTH IT!!! I only did it for about 3 weeks but they recommend the sooner you start the better!!!

I hope I can start acupuncture later this week! I have a feeling we will need to take the next two cycles off due to our vacation and then the holidays - but I'll talk with RE about the possibility of moving forward in light of these things. Even so, I have heard that giving yourself a couple of months before the actual transfer is even better than just the day of transfer stuff - so I'm going to start immediately!

Congratulations!
THIS IS WONDERFUL NEWS!
As for 94 - I think that is fine.. especially if there is only one.. and its one day early. Anything over 25 is considered pregnant. If I am not mistaken, the Beta should double every 48 hours.. so, hopefully it will be 200 next time!!

Congrats again - I know how excited you must be!
Best,
Lauren

I agree with Smattison. Accupuncture definitely helped me. I know that they say no studies have been done to show a correlation but i can definitely say that it helped me a lot in regards to being more calm and relaxed this cycle. It felt really good. I did around 8 sessions the whole cycle (once a week) and then once before the transfer and once after the transfer. Sprouthaus, hope all goes well with DH's surgery.

Regarding acupuncture - I think there has been a recently published study that was run in Germany. The results showed twice the success rate for IVF patients who also did acpunture versus just IVF alone. If I can find the link - I will send it along.

My husband is from Germany - so he immediately was on my side about doing acupuncture for our next round. I have never been afraid of needles (kind of like them actually...bizarre) and I have always wanted to try acupuncture so here I go!

The only thing I will say about the study - is that you can't really do the study blind. Either you know you are getting AP or not. It isn't like a pill where they can give some people placebo. But STILL - even if the AP is only a placebo effect - it still helps!

Has anyone done Laser Accupuncture??
I am contimplating doing this before and after my ET on Friday... any thoughts???

Apparently no needles... they have a wand that they hold over you & it apprarently increases blood flow and circulation - and they have seen great results with doing this at my clinic. They do the same thing immediately after the transfer...

I don't know much about it, but - I am hoping to make my decision tomorrow.

Best,
Lauren

I would say do it - and here is why.

1) The additional cost of the laser AP can't be NEARLY the cost of a failed IVF cycle

2) Respected AP-ists even will use the laser AP. The clinic I am looking into uses it only on children as needles usually frighten them more.

My feeling is that it is probably effective - maybe not AS effective as traditional AP - but if your clinic offers it all in one place - I would FOR SURE do it!

just my humble opinion
