April/May Cycle Buddies!

Moorebaby- I suppose that you have to take an ed class with every cycle. This is only my 2nd IVF. It should be a breeze for me today, since the donor will have the bulk of the meds. I only have to do Lupron, Estrogen, Progesterone for the bulk of mine. We will be signing our consent forms as well today. Def check with your nurse about your consents and class, better safe then sorry.

Moorebaby: Regarding the lupron, i am on the same dosage and been experiencing horrible pains. Not sure if it is related but AF showed up yesterday and been having the worst cramps ever. Blaming in on Lupron.

Does anyone know if i can take alleve? is is the only thing that works for cramps! Ugh!!!!

Anyway, i go on for day 3 b/w and U/s tomorrow. If everything is ok, i will get the go ahead for the stims. Can't wait. How weird that we get so excited over shots!

Real quick post since I seem to be short on posting time lately...and then I promise to catch up with in a bit.

AF came yesterday. Baseline was this morning. AFC was 13!!! 6 follies on the right and 7 on the left! Last month it was only 10...so maybe the 4 weeks of DHEA is helping? Not bad for an almost 43 yr old!! lol Lining was 5.6 and E2 49. So everything looks great and ER is expected April 8 or 9th...if it goes like the last cycle. I feel we may have triggered one day too early...so even though my calender states the 8th...I may push for the 9th, if things turn out the same...with a bunch of little ones not far behind. We'll see.

Quick question for those on DHEA and CoQ10...when did you stop the meds? I heard that it can make you prematurely ovulate. I asked my doc today...and he is not sure since he really knows nothing about DHEA.

On a difficult note. Last night was one of the hardest nights of my life. I just gave my brother/SIL ALL of Zach's baby gear, clothes, toys...everything from birth to 2yrs old. Thousands of dollars worth of practically brand new stuff. It makes me want to cry...but I couldnt see storing it in my basement while they go out and buy everything new. My brother is a smoker...so I dont expect to get it back nice and usable or even sell worthy. But, at least I'll get to see it all being used again...if we do not get pregnant.

My brother bought his wife (she's also my best friend) a 3-D ultrasound last week for the whole family to come see...it was a blast, and I got lots of video/pics for them...of baby Ryan...as hard as it was to do this...it was also really cool. Ryan looks exactly like my brother and also like Zach. Zach looked like my brother in utero...and nothing like us. lol I'm actually starting to really look forward to meeting baby Ryan and our boys growing up together now. It's just hard cause with one of my pregnancies...we would have been due with days of each other.

Tammy- I totally hear ya on how hard it is. I am at an age where babies are exploding around me from friends and family! My brother and his wife made me an aunt for the first time in early feb, my other brother and his wife are due in late may, my step sister is due early july and a very close friend is due end of july. Holy babies! Talk about a lot of baby showers, maternity/newborn pics for us to take. As hard as it is, I am overjoyed for all of them and the I was a blubbering mess when my brother called me (out of state) to tell me my niece had been born. I loved her instantly like my own and I hadn't even seen her yet. I just hope I can get pregnant again so I can have a child close in age to all of their babies. I have also been wondering about what to do with all of ella's stuff she has outgrown. But I am confident we will use it again and my brothers want to do the whole registry thing. I just can't give it up yet.

Ok, now I am freaking out. I just did the math and I wouldn't be surprised if I run out of lupron tonight! I called the pharmacy to refill and they said it is on BACKORDER !! My clinic knew it was in short supply, they warned me about it when I was gearing up to start and had me order weeks in advance just in case. I have to call the clinic first thing in the morning and I have to pray they have some lupron in their office, even if it is enough to get me through for a couple days so I can try and find some. Figures my e2 goes down and this would happen.

CT_Michele - How much Lupron are you on? I have a small vial left over from my cycle. I was only on 5 ml so it lasted a long time but if you are on more it may only be a dose or two happy to send to you though. Let me know may buy you a day or two....PM me your address if you are interested I can try to get it out tomorrow...overnight if I need too....Kt

I am 39 and have also been taking DHEA and CoQ10, trying to improve my lining and egg quality. I would also really like to know when to stop taking these meds. Please let me know when you find out.

I think its a great thing you did giving your brother Zach's things.I know is wasn't easy but it was a kind thing to do. I believe good deeds bring back rewards. Your reward is coming.

Tammy- I'm taking coq10. It can be taken during the tww and into pregnancy. My DHEA levels are too high (PCOS) so I'm on prednisone to reduce them. If your taking DHEA your levels should be checked by your RE or naturopath, because if they get too hight they can interfere with fertility.

Addy- congrats on your high number of forsties

Tiger- I agree with Blisssfull, put your cycle costs on the credit card that way you get points out of it. We're going to use our pts for tickets to Europe.

Babesgalore- According to my written instructions, I can only take Tylenol, so sorry but I think Alieve is no go . Hope your feeling better real soon.

Mom4Sure- Soon you'll be off those crazy BCP. Since I've been on them my chest has felt heavy, have you had any strange feelings?

Michele- I hope yoou get your meds today. My scare wasn't as crazy as yours but last week when I went to fill my prescription for BCP the pharmacy was out. So i just I started with my leftovers from last cycle. But I only had 14 days worth so when I tried a couple of days later to get a pack I was told there's a manufactures short across the country. Had to call the clinic to get a new precription for a different brand. I've never switched between brands before so hopefully it won't mess things up. I'm wondering if the pharmacutical companies have ties with the troubles in Japan??? With all thes multinationals it's hard to tell.

AFM- Yeah it's finally spring break!!! The snow is starting to melt and will hopefully be gone by the time we get back from the west coast. Looking forward to Cherry blossoms, Wild Pacific Salmon and fresh sushi.

Cherry- congrats on the great news!!! Lining thickness and triple layer lining is great. Your babies will be home where they belong in now time. Looks like you and I will be in the 2ww together. Glad Ill have someone to endure it with me.

Cherry- I'm doing a fresh cycle, and today is day 7 of follistim. I went for lining and follicle check wednesday and go back tomorrow for another US and more bloodwork. Already feeling a little swollen and am ready to quit the stims. As of now I think ill be stimming until monday and trigger monday night, then retireval wednesday and probably transfer on saturday. Of course I would be more than happy to go sooner if things look good tomorrow.
