April/May Cycle Buddies!

Ok, I started a may/june thread kind of as a joke quite a few months ago. But now I have a real plan and I see there is a current thread up until March, so here I am to start the official April/May thread!

I was planning on waiting until June to cycle and have august as a backup for try number 2. But I have since decided that I don't give a crap about how work feels about when I take a possible maternity leave, and I am going for April, with June AND August as backups. I am determined to get pregnant this summer!

So I am doing a fresh cycle using 1 vile of frozen sperm from 3 years ago (same batch that produced my daughter). I start meds April 1 with retreival the week of april 11. I am going for my sonohistogram and officehyst next week. I will start bcps probably with my feb af.

So join me! Tell me your name and story. Many of you might know me from previous cycles, I have been around a while. But I will be glad to share my story again once I get some cyclers to join me.

Yay Ester! I thought about you when I decided to go for April instead of waiting. I remembered you saying you were hoping for April. You will have to let me know what your dates will be. We might have to meet up for coffee on our 2ww!

Well, I went this week for my sonohyst and office hysterocopy (sp?). And everything looks good. No more procedures, I just need to call in feb with af and will likely start bcp's. DH needs to do a SA just to check on things, but I imagine sperm isn't going to magically appear after all this time. We will have to do a consult with urologist and prepare for a last minute emergency TESE the morning of retrieval. We are going to risk this cycle on the one vile of sperm we have frozen which gave us our Ella. RE told me today we could thaw the vile the night before and god forbid there is nothing usable, we can have a backup appt setup up with the urologist to do the TESE if need be. Of course dh is hoping he won't need to do it again. So April cycle start April 1 with taking meds and retrievals will be the week of April 11. Depending on when my retrieval will be, my beta will be very, very close (if not on) my 30th birthday. That could be good or bad. It could be the best birthday present ever and make my 30th not such a bad thing, or it could be the worst birthday ever, depressed about 30 and another fail.

Spoke with the clinic today. My day 3 results came in FSH3.9 E2 48. They're changing my protical to a micro dose protical (nurse thinks because of my age). Which more injections and more $ on meds. Start BCP after March AF and injections in April with transfer early May. This is our 4th IVF and our last fresh cycle.

michele- hey girl! sorry, i've been mia. how crazy is this weather?! another snow day for us, lol! well, since we had 1 of our crazy snowstorms last tuesday (actually it was a lot of sleet & freezing rain that day), we rescheduled our appointment w/ yale for tuesday, february 1st. as you know, we've been going to uconn & we are just wanting to get a 2nd opinion. i'm definitely looking to cycle, but i want the er & et to fall over april break. i don't know if it will, but i'm sure they can give me something to make it work that way. i guess after my appointment on tuesday, we'll be able to make our decision as to whether we'll stay w/ uconn or try yale. dh definitely won't be doing a tesa/tese (w/ dr. honig) since it didn't help at all each time we did it (2x). he's happy about that, lol!

Ester- yeah, we have gotten quite a bit of snow here this year! Good luck at your Yale appt. I think getting a second opinion is a good idea. Why didn't TESE/TESA help?? Was he not able to get anything? Of they did get it and it didn't matter? And yes, I think most men would be very happy not to have to see Dr hoenig every again in their life!

I was also hoping to plan my cycle where I would be on april break for ER/ET, but my clinic does all of their cycles at the same time each month and meds start the 1, er/et the w/o april 11. I will have to figure out how to take a couple days off that week without letting many people at work know what I am doing. I will be on my 2ww for april break. Hopefully, depending on timing, I will get a bfp on hpt before I have to go back to work!

Let me know about that cup of coffee sometime!

It's been ages since I've been able to check on the boards so it has taken me a while to spot this thread, but I wanted to gatecrash to say a huge good luck to you guys - Michele, I'm so happy to see that you and DH are able to cycle again, I'll be stalking you as best I can and keeping everything crossed for a big fat BFP. Have you purchased a cabinet full of tests yet? I know you're the POAS queen!!

ugh...just had to reschedule out consultation/2nd opinion appointment at yale ONCE AGAIN! this weather is crazy! i'm off from school, so it would've been a good day b/c i wouldn't need to take time off, & dh arranged his day at work, so he'd be able to make it. but it is just so bad out there....ice, sleet, snow...i just don't have a good feeling about us driving. so now the appointment is not for a month...march 1st! at least it's at 3, so i won't have to take time off since school gets out at 2:30. there was nothing available the next 2 weeks & there were a few openings the last week of february, but we're planning on being out of state then. i hope that march 1st isn't too late in order for us to be able to start in april.

here's my plan...cycle in april. if not good, take a break in may & then cycle in june. if not good, i'll take a break in july as we have vacation plans that month, & cycle in august. so out of those 3, 1 cycle has got to work, right, lol? i've already done 4 & only 1 was a little bit of a success that ended w/ a m/c.

it BETTER NOT snow on march 1st, lol!

Ester- Ugh...how frustrating! I was so upset when my first consult almost got pushed back weeks due to weather. I hope you can still go for april. And your plan sounds like mine, April, June and August...one has GOT TO WORK! If I go 3 times this summer and none work, I mind be completely defeated form this whole process. But I am trying to stay positive. DH says it is going to work the first time, but that is only b/c he doesn't want to do TESE again. First try we are risking on a frozen vile of sperm, so if it works, he won't have to do TESE again.
