Question of the Week: I am trying to finish up all my contracts before the end of January so I can take a couple months off to adjust to having two little peanuts in the house and will try to phase back into some more contracts in the Spring. With Em I just played it by ear and did what felt right and stayed home with her until she was 2 but worked around her schedule and seemed to get through some pretty major contracts while I stayed with her. I am lucky I work for myself but it does make for some crazy hours when you have a newborn! You would laugh I usually attended any video conference calls in my PJ's! Thankfully everyone understood!!

Sorry I have been a little MIA lately....life has been a bit crazy lately and I need to learn how to say no more as I am learning through this last month of craziness!

Board has been moving along quietly but sounds like everyone is doing Ok......Can't believe that 22 weeks is here....still wish it was me and I am definitely still struggling with that still but I am trying to take it one day at a time and just be happy in the fact that I will bring home a baby in February....

Question of the week: I am probably going to play it by ear on whether I take 8 weeks off or 12 weeks off and much will depend on how early I have to go out on bedrest as it's inevitable for me :| I was able to take five months off with my first DS even after being on bedrest for 4 months and that was really great. Being the breadwinner in this economy though makes those choices a little more difficult to make especially with 3 more mouths to feed  My husband does a lot of the running around to activities and school with my son but with an additional 3 I still cannot wrap my head around a plan just yet. My mom will stay with us for the first 6 months and I will probably get a helper to support her and my hubby throughout the day. I then have to really figure out what comes next. A nanny for a year and a half and then preschool --- just not sure yet.

I am happy to see that everyone is moving along and no news is good news so the quiet is not always a bad thing  I envy those of you that are going to get to meet your little ones in December as it's right around the corner---YEAH!

On my side, I had the pre-op U/S and check yesterday and the LOs are all kicking and moving, cervix looks good and we are proceeding with the cerclage on Thursday. I had to get a laxative yesterday as it would be really bad to get anethesia on top of the current constipation issues

I will probably not catch up until this is all over as tomorrow will be a hectic day for me at work trying to wrap up for a few days off.

Stay well.

Hey everyone,

I've been working lots and while I think about checking in here and seeing how everyone is, time gets away and I get tired so there ya have it. Work has been crazy....lots of trials and lots of transcripts ordered.

We had our 20 week u/s recently. We are joining team............... wait and see. Yep, we decided to wait and be surprised at the birth.

Off to read and catch up on everyone.

Nancy: what willpower you have! I could not do it! It would be like a Christmas present staring at me for 40 weeks and I couldn't open it! Too much temptation!

ttcnb: wow! you have your hands full! I'm sure you'll figure it all out!

Katie: time is flying by, eh? SO glad you are joining us on this journey. It may be unconventional, but hey, is anything conventional about IVF?

dogs: I am a teacher too! DS is due in Fen, so I plan on taking some time off between Jan and Spring Break (april) and then finish out the year . . . our district is changing to an early start next summer(mid-august) . . . so we only get a 6 week summer vacation =(

Bliss: I'll have to check out that book . . . can you believe how fast time is going by? WIth DD, second trimester went by fast too, but then third trimester dragged . . .

What are your plans after the baby? Maternity leave (how long)? Stay at home? Do you have childcare plans in place?

I'll stay with Grady for 12 weeks and then go back to work . . . we have a wonderful daycare provider . . . Grace loves her . . . I still have a little pang when I drop her off, but if I can't be with her, she's the next best thing . . .

AFM: just plodding along . . . starting to get a little worried because I was pre-eclamptic with DD and may be headed down that road again . . . Women with IVF are at a higher risk for PE (as evidenced on the 2011 board) . . . Part of me hopes that's why my second trimester screening came back so high . . . but then PE opens up a whole other can of worms . . . ugh . . .

Hi Ladies,

I would like to join the board. I have posted several times on the 2011 board but since my due date is 1/9/2012 I think I should move to this board... :D

I know all of you well since I followed the board from the beginning...

I just had my OB appointment this morning and everything looks fine so far. Baby measures 2 lbs 4 oz and heart rate is 150. I also had glucose test today and was told if I don't hear from them tomorrow that means everything is fine. I hope I can pass the test. please. I weigh 142 lbs now while my pre-pregnancy weight is 115 lbs. :(

I had the pregnancy related reflux since week 8 and it's getting worse. My ENT doctor gave me meds to treat it and OB says okay to take, but I still haven't decided. I think I will just suffer through till the end. :(

Welcome Yingz! I participate in both boards and don't think there is anything wrong with that, especially for a January girl! Glad to hear your GD test went well for you. I have mine on Monday.

Hey Nancy- great to hear from you and glad everything is going well for you. I think you are our first official Team GREEN. Seems like IVF ladies are more prone to find out. Maybe its because we are addicted to knowing every single detail about our attempted pregnancies...it carries over into our actual pregnancies!

Mora- Yes...dragging and going fast at the same time. We have come so far.

ttcnb- wow...6 months worth of support from Mom. I think I would go nuts, but still...that's priceless! I wish we lived near each other...we could nanny share. I don't think I could swing it solo.

Katie- someday I want to learn all about how you prepare for bfing. What a wonderful way to bod with the baby.

Dogz- I knew I should have been a teacher! ;-)

How's Everybody? I hope everyone enjoying their pregnancies. I wanted to do personals but I'm way too far beyond to follow everyone (SORRY!) I've been so busy these couple of months from moving out the house decorating it and etc. I don't even have anything for my baby not even one! Coz of my busy sched... ugh! How I wish my family's here so they can lend me a hand and preapre everything.
We had our 26 weeks check last thursday and on that day we forced our OB to reveal our baby's gender. But since I'm already 26 weeks and not too far to 30 weeks she told us anyway, she said THE LITTLE ONE LOOKS LIKE MOMMY~ And so my sleepy hubby suddenly came to alive! hahaha He even kept his smile til we reached our house... And keep saying my little princess while rubbing my tummy and yet our little angel responded with a strong kick! lol I'm so over joy right now after waiting for this pregnancy to happen for almost 6 years and wishing and hoping for a baby girl, everything is an answered prayers! This is a huge huge huge gift from GOD to us. Huge birthday Gift for me and for my hubby's and A HUge blessing for this coming Christmas and New Year! Can't find an espicific words to explain how happy I am right......

I HOPE that everyone on this board have a healthy delivery and YES! It's getting nearer and nearer for us to meet our little angels! Have a Blessed day!

Bliss- COngrats on having a baby girl!

Wishingnandhoping- I don't know if you can remember me from IVF April/May board but I remember you.... I knew what you have been through after your m/c and how disappointing it was but look at you now! WHAT???????! Expecting twins! What a joy huh?! I'm so thrilled after reading ur post about this!!! Enjoy every bit of this pregnancy and remember safety is always the best!

With DD, when I had my full of the "What To Expect When You're Expecting" pregnancy books and moved on the the baby books, I really enjoyed The Baby Whisperer and The Happiest Baby on the Block ... they also come with DVD's . . . I also liked The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy and The Girlfriend's Guide to Suriving the First Year of Motherhood . . .

Just saw Moneyball and as a HUGE baseball fan, I loved it! I miss reading . . . I seem to be playing Words With Friends on my iphone and vegging out watching tv on the couch rather than reading these days . . . need to be better about that! I loved Chelsea Handler's books, as well as Tina Fey's new book as well . . . I miss reading =(

Ooooh... I love Tina Fey and have added it to my long reading list. I mentioned that I really liked Milk Memos, the one about breast feeding and being a full time working Mom. I too loved The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy. I will have to check out the sequel.

I haven't read any non-pregnancy related books in a while but just downloaded one. I am going to see if "The Help" is worth all "The Hype". :D Outside of that, I really enjoy all kinds of reading, mostly nonfiction. I have always felt life is infinitely stranger than fiction. As far as "girly" books, I like all of Elizabeth Gilmer's stuff (Eat, Pray, Love). She is a terrific writer and has a great sense of humor.

Well ladies, I got "the talk" today from my OB about my weight gain. I was so bummed because I have done such a good job since the last visit, knowing that "the talk" was coming. I have gained only a pound on my scale at home since my last visit which is perfect. But the scale at the OB had me at 4 pounds. Still, it has been over 5 weeks since the last visit so I didn't think that was awful. It almost made me cry. I think he really just looked at the total weight gain for the pregnancy for the first time. Plus he thought I was 22 weeks and not 25 1/2 weeks until the end of the appointment when I had to correct him. I went in thinking I was going to get a pat on the back for the improvement, and instead I got crushed. :( Oh well. I'll show him next time. I am sticking to what I have been doing which is about a half pound a week, but I am going to wear shorts and a tank top with sandals to the next visit to keep the weight from the clothes down....even in November in northern Michigan. Kidding! Seriously, I am trying to let it go. For goodness sake, I used to run 40 miles a week and was slightly underweight when I started. Surely 25 pounds at 25 weeks is not all that bad.

Okay, done venting. Thanks for listening!

Hi Ladies - Quick update: The Cerclage went well and I am on the mend. I had general anesthesia which was a little unexpected but apparently keeps the uterus more calm allowing for higher reach and stitching. I have some added nausea that showed up 2 days post-op and some off and on cramping but very little bleeding which was great.

I will check in later and hope everyone is doing well.

Thanks for the support!
