ICSI: Now you know how it feels I am sure the two tylenol will be fine - but it is funny that your dh is worried about what you are putting in your body. My dh is soo lax when it comes to that. He thinks I am wierd for using two alcohol swabs. One to wipe the bottle and another for my tummy. He's like it is an alcohol swab, it doesn't get dirty!! And I am like, but the instructions say!! At which point he says think for yourself! At which point I go into a Gonal F rage and threaten to stick him with my syringe !...But I digress...
Stephhjm: I can NOT stand South Park!! So ridiculous. (Are we still friends?? ) Good for you helping dh's grandma - there you don't have to do any other good deeds for at least like a month, right

it's 8am on a sunday morning (WTF am i doing up??). well, our neighbour is a carpenter/builder and he's been helping us out to finish this extension as our other friend keeps letting us down and he said he wants to start at 8 today. fine by me if it means we're one step closer to the extension being finished!!!

Not sure why I'm up at stupid o'clock on a Sunday morning except that I woke up with a headache and decided the only answer was to eat and drink. Maybe I'll toddle off back to back in a bit.
I love the nursery, will probably go for those colours myself but haven't really started looking yet. I just want to get the scan done before I do anything much. Have you started looking at prams? I think I'm getting obsessed with them - checking out what everyone else has got. I suppose it one of the bigger decisions.

Rachel and Hope - my niece is 4 and is adorable. She's so well behaved too (she has her moments like they all do but thankfully she saves them for her parents). I love cooking with kids.

Stephjim - you don't get to find out the sex til the next scan at around 22 weeks.

Steph - yes there's a shortage of pharmacists here too but because the NHS is in such financial doo doo it takes months for HR to agree for us to advertise any posts anyway and then we get no suitable applicants or they don't show up . Salaries can be quite different from one hospital to another as each local group (trusts, they're called) is responsible for it own budgets. There was a huge reform a couple of years ago that was supposed to even things out but it hasn't really worked

Angie - glad the headache's gone but did you have to pass it this way I guess I'll have to take my own advise and drink loads.

Morning Ladies ...

Well, DD's bedroom still not finished her walls were lilac b4 we started, and it needs more bloody coats to get ride of it all. I bought the 'once' paint too, but not workng - so will start 3rd coat today. Someone asked me (not sure who,, i forget it was that many pages away lol) what colour i am painting it. Its chocolate brown and cream - 2 x walls choco brown and 2 x walls cream. I have cream curtains and cream quilt cover, brown fluffy throw with matching cushions (she better keep her room tidy after this!!)
Anyhow, i really need to get it finished today as starting new job 2moro, and i wont be home till at least 6.15pm - an i aint starting it then! Hopefully i will be able to catch up with u ladies then at some stage, but DD usualy needs PC for her study/homework, so will do my best I have my appt at clinic on Tuesday (oh so excited ) will deff let u all know how it goes even if i have to struggle with DD to get on Anyhow, time for personals ...

Aunty: Again, i will say - welcome home! I know what u have been thru and i know how hard it has been for u, its great to see u back here in the midst of things again It wont be long until ur a fully fledged junkie of this site again - i owe all mine to you hugz xxxxx

Mia: I think this time i will be taking Gonal F - last time i was using menopur and i responded really well to it (got 12 eggs) so hopefully the Gonal F will be just as good, i want loads of eggies lol. This is our last shot so it has to work .... Do u inject in ur belly or ur thigh? I did thigh last time but am debating on which one is best ... what do u think ladies? Anyhow Mia - hope its all going well for u and that the side effects hold off for you xxx

Hope: Regarding ur sis - u do know that DH's Aunty got pg when she was 47!!! Baby is due on May this year - is there any medical reason why ur sis cant conceive naturally? No didn't go back to bed in the end. Headache cleared so I decided to go shopping. Bought 2 tops (first maternity clothes I've bought) and more bras. I haven't really got a bump yet but just feel like I need longer tops now. I hate that I can't wear my jeans any more but the maternity one all look huge still so I'll have to wait a bit.

I really like the 3-wheeler prams but some of them are quite big. Love the look of the Jane ones but I don't think they're practical for the size of my car or my tiny house. My sister's obsessed with prams too so will drag her along to look soon.

Becky - DDs room sounds lovely. Hope you get the walls covered today. did you ever read/see Adrian Mole? Remember the bit where he's painting his room black and can't get rid of the noddy bells on the wall paper?

Can feel my headache returning so better go drink some more. Then off to my parents of family Sunday lunch. Will be back later but prob not til after Dancing on Ice. Anyone else watching that? I love it even better than x factor

Su, I love cooking with kids too! Made gingerbread house with 2 and 1/2 year old nephew and an apple pie. He eats all the ingredients as we go along. Soooo much fun! Glad you are feeling better.

Aunty Pebbles, just wanted to introduce myself. I'm very new and the girls have not offed me yet. I don't know you and have not read any of your posts, but checked out your signature info. I am 40 and have had 3 IVF bfn's. Thought maybe we could relate. Look forward to getting to know you.

Hope, I'm all confused with the time zones. Still can't figure where everyone is from? I need a cheat sheet. The word on my iui is... still waiting for AF, could be any day now. I have not POAS cause I did that once and got a faint positive then the next day it was negative. Boo HOO! THat was a big bummer. Af is due MOn or Tues. So far no real symtpoms yet. But Just for the heck of it I took my basal temp this morning and it seems a little low for pregnancy. (I used to be a big time temperature charter before IVF) Sounds like fun with DSS. Know what you mean about feeling ready to begin cycle. Af is on the way. ABout sister... I feel terrible when I think about it. Just know that you are a big support to her. I have a younger sis wth 2 kids and her support to me is invaluable! She is my rock. Keep being there for your sis. Would she consider getting any help? Maybe DE? My heart goes out to her.

Quick question... how many days post iui did they tell you to poas?

Chriss I have poas 12, 14 and 16 days past my iui. doc told me 14 and 16...my "I can't wait" attitude was 12. I figured since this cycle was screwy...did I O the 1st time or 3 days later, the day 16 should take care of that. When I got my bfp I was 11 dpiui. So now I sit and wait for AF to start.
Sounds like there a lots of us (well for you I hope she doesn't show!!!) But there may be a lot of cycle buddies next round since Angie up and deserted us! Maybe you can join her just a few days shy??

So who out there IS waiting for AF to arrive in the next few days? I need a jiggy too, I wanna get this party started!!!

Su- I hope your headache is gone! We don't have Dancing on Ice unless you count the Ice Capades. We had a show called Skating with the Stars where they pair a movie/tv star with a skating professional. Pretty fun really! It is pretty crappy it is so hard to get pharmacists hired there! Makes you wanna scream! Do retail pharmacist (the ones in stores) make more than in hospital like here?

I myself have been looking at "prams" just for fun. I like the 4 wheelers myself. My friend has a brand that I really like but she got one with the 2 handles (one on each side) I personally like the whole bar across type handle cuz I KNOW I won't always want my wide apart. OH and it MUST have a cup holder for mommy HAHAHA

so I am thinking ladies...and especially those that have done iui....how many of you have had your cycles monitored? Like now I only poas to figure out my surge, no U/S and no trigger. I have been trying to save money since it is all out of pocket. But is it really saving me money if I can't hit my surge right am I just throwing my money away anyways.

My concern is all the U/Ss...I mean I hear some of you guys getting em done on day 3 and day 7...now the day 3 one concerns me only cuz well I just have to say eeewwwww!!!

can some of you shed light on this for me purty please!

ps I just have to laugh, Thor is dragging his house (not his shell but his cutout half tree log house across his tank to get to his food dish...I think he is stuck in there haha. ooo there he is. I guess he wanted a new view!

Hi girls

So the night out wasnt the best. Felt like a huge git and burst into tears going out in the taxi, i Never do that and just felt a prat. Dont know where it came from but just feel so insecure and emotional at the moment. I think it always appears when i know that the cycle is close and am preparing myself for more disappointment. I just feel so tearful and we both keep looking at kids and longing for them to be ours. The night did get better but i just wanted home, which is just not like me.

Just wanted to say a HUGE to Aunty, its great to hear from you. Hope your feeling good, we have missed you.

Thanks to everyone who has asked out my f-i-l. He is not great and due an op tomorrow, just have to pray he gets through it ok. We are heading off to see him on Tue for a few days then Barcelona on the 26th.

Hey Steph, thanks for reply on when to poas after iui. I should rememebr, it's just been while since I did IUI. With IVF, the dates are all set by doctors. No questions. Anyway, I'd love to be preggo with this one, but I gotta tell ya I'm feeling AF on the way. Right around the corner. Tomorrow? Or Tuesday. Maybe even later today. My temp is down. (Used to be a big-time temperature charter so for kicks I took my temperature this am and it is low, kinda like right before AF comes.) So, no big surprise when she arrives. A bit of a bummer, but realistically, I am 40 and this was a natural cycle in between IVF's. Kinda a LOOOOOOONG shot to begin with. So, it does sound like many of us will be starting together. Crazy 2ww ahead huh? WE can drive each other nuts like angie drove us. Glad that you can start up again right away. Waiting the month in between sucks! I agree with you about strollers, I am assuming that what a pram is right???? My sis has gone thru a few of them and I've used them to walk my nephews. I agree, the bar with the cupholder is a must. I feel like I have all of this baby knowledge inside and I just want to be able to put it to use. I practically help her raise her two little ones. I'm "aunt sissy". Makes me happy yet makes me yearn for my own. How bout this stroller???

yup chriss that is a pram...it is angie and my new language I think Becky posted that pic from before for Nims just before her 1st scan! Check out the signs behind the stroller...perfect place to raise baby...or in this case babies!!! Probably Brittney Spear's on a baby sitting assignment!

Jen- the 26th is just around the corner!!! Less than a week! Yahoo!!! crying is fine girl! this is emotional I stress everyday, my heart aches everyday. I know I haven't been through all you have, but I feel your pain in wanting something so bad and it always feeling it is out of your reach big hugs and baby dust to you for your little ones in waiting!!!!
