more moral support

Post by Bronagh »

hello all March buddies thought I might join you all as it seems that I'm sort of March/April I'm 37 have been ttc for 4.5 years we have unexplained infertility. Although the only test I have ever had is a Laprarosphy (sp?) and my husband 2 sperm tests. have just completed a liver detox programme and am going down the acupuncture route starting tomorrow.

I am to start my first IVF cycle this month they want to start me sniffing the first day of my period as they have been irregular since my Lap. so I recogn I'm a March/ April person and find it all a bit of a wait so would like to offer my moral support in the wait.

Thanks for the welcome, just checking in to see how people are doing as I'm off to the acupuncturist this afternoon and am going to pick up my drugs from the hospital. I'm not sure how people can do this and work full time as well, at least I'm relatively near the hospital as there is only one clinic in NI some people must be travelling at least 2 hours every time they have to visit the clinic - but them I suppose everone living in larger citys may still have a big commute. It all adds to the stress.
anyway by for now.

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.

I don't know about you all but this feels a bit like the calm before the storm.

My drugs arrived yesterday so we are all set to get going on Saturday. The needles for the gestone injections looked v. scarey - but I am trying not to worry about that!

Sarah, how did you get on at your appointment yesterday. Is everything ok after the fraud scare?

I am off to the Ideal Home Show now so hope you all have a nice evening.

Sarah,
In answer to you query I'm now self employed after haveing a very stress full job for 2.5 years then 3 months off due to stress I just went back and handed in my notice so I sort of take it as it comes . There would have been no way I could have gone for IVF in the last job there simply was not the flexability. Anyway acupuncture was fine the dr said I had mild weekness in the kidneys which meant my womb was cold and difficult for conception. This was quiet interesting as I'd been reading about it and with unexplained fertility its nice to have some solutions.
Anyway how Southamption I went to college at Winchester School of Art as I'm assuming its Southhamption England your from.

Anyway everone else seems quiet tonight

bye for now

Yep Bronagh, SOuthampton in the south of ENgland......intersting about your kidneys etc....sounds +ve though, if they can realign them etc you may even conceive the FUN way.......

Dolly, appt went fine, Mr Fraud himself was there! very friendly.....think it is more to do with NHS side, apparantly he has allegedly been diddling the NHS side to fund private side!! Who cares, as long as it does not intefere with my tmt(looking after number 1 for a change)

Deffo know what you mean about the calm before the storm......I know the 2 ww is the worst but I wish you could forward wind the bit at the beginning.....it just drags, I start drugs on sunday and dont start the next stage until AF has come again!!!!!!! Oh how boring this bit is......

Take care all

Hi Sarah, I have never done a FET (never been lucky enough to have any spares to freeze!). How does it all work? Is it buserelin that you are starting on Sunday? Then do you have to wait until ovulation for the FET?

Glad it all went well with your appointment. Did Mr Fraud mention the fact that there had been a bit of scandal? How funny - nothing like a bit of drama!

Take care

Hi Dolly,

Only said good morning too him...thought it best not to say anything!!! dont want to alient him eh!!

Re FET- I start taking the pill on sunday for 7 days and tuesday am start Bruselin injections...this is to shut me down I think....

When next AF arrives I have a day 4 blood test and they ring back the same afternoon with the results......If hormone levels are ok I then start taking Provera(I think) tablets at different times........I think it starts off 2 tablets once a day, then 2xtablets twice a day building up to 2xtablets 3x a day(still do daily Bruselin jabs)

This bit takes about 17 days and at some point near the end have to start taking Cycclogest pessaries as well............then.....if the embies survive ET and carry on with pessaries and hopefully get PG!!

If day 4 bloods come back low They may abandon....boo hoo!!last time bloods were ok so fingers crossed I will react the same way........ Hope you followed this...........last tmt from day 19 appt to ET was about 35/40 days so about the same time wise as a fresh cycle.apart from success rate is a lot lower

TAke care

Am really busy at work.........I usually work overtime on a saturday....cant believe it but am working sunday as well this weekend....will be totally knackered next week but as you know IVF is sooo expensive so need the money............will ease off overtime nearer to ET though!!

HAVE A FAB WEEKEND

Post by Bronagh »

hello MCB's
Just checking in to see whats up, nickie know what you mean about everthing suddenly becoming real I picked up all my drugs today and I'm not to wait and start sniffing on the 20th next week....to it all becomes real.Dont like the thoughts of the side effects. Also started my foul tea from the acupunturist and everything people have said on these boards is true its tastes foul but hay such is life. Anyway off to see starsky and hutch to lighten my load.

Sarah I feel for you working on Sunday as well.....have a good weekend ALL.

Hi everyone,

Is any one else on stims yet? I had my first scan yesterday and the nurse counted 7 follies which I am pleased with, as I am a "poor responder". Sizes range from 9 - 16mm so about another 4 days worth to take, hopefully fingers crossed theyll all be nice and fat and juicy by then.

God, I'm getting scared now, ec next week Weds/Thurs.

Need to go out and buy some orange tshirts today. Ive read somewhere if you wear orange it projects positive atitude to "ones self"!!!! Got to be worth a go! As we all know it is very hard to stay positive all of the time, and I worry that the negative thoughts which bounce in and out may affect the outcome. As I am not doing reflec/acupunct I'll try the orange theme instead !! ha ha.

Does anyone know whether when on stims youve had a funny taste in your mouth. I have, and it is minging! DH said I had it last time also.

GOOD LUCK

Good Luck everyone
