Hi gals!

Tasha--Good luck with the nursery. Have you picked out a theme? I can't remember...you'll have to send pics. As for 2 girls, oh heaven help us if they are! I don't know if I'd be able to handle to females in the teen years! ha ha! I've noticed that the heartbeats seem to be faster at the OB's office on the sonogram than they are in the US. Not sure which one is more reliable. Lots of people are guessing that I'm having 2 boys or one of each. We'll just have to wait and see!

Cowgirl--I hope I can manage as well as your friend. I"m a pretty tough cookie, so I"m hoping that will help me manage longer than most. good luck at your appt.

Racheal--Good luck with the diet, but don't stress about it. Lots of people deal with gestational diabetes and do fine. I'm sure you will too. Just think of how far you've come! You're a trooper and your little girl will be too. Our room is almost done. I'm actually going shopping this weekend for the picture frames and ribbons to do the family "tree" photos. I'm also thinking of getting a phrase/quote stenciled on the wall. I've got to check into that. I don't want to post photos yet...I want it to be more "finished" first! That's me, type A all the way!

We have an infant CPR class tomorrow, and then we start our childbirth classes next week. I'll be pulling the late nights like Tasha--7 til 9. Oh dear....

Have a good weekend gals!

Kim- we are actually going w/ the lady bug theme. Her bedding is light pink, white & green... we're doing green walls w/ the border and then wood letters on the wall in red (her name). I'm sure it will turn out very cute... and I'm excited we have a lot of room to work with. I'll post pictures when we've started the painting process.

Well I just got word we're leaving at 5:00pm today... yeah.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi gals...

Me again....I just found out that a friend of mine who was pregnant with twins had her water break at 18 weeks. She lost one of the twins (baby A). The other one is still stable, but mom is now bedridden in the hospital probably for the remainder of the pregnancy.

Obviously this is horrible for my friend and her husband. It's also hard for me to hear. A little too close to home...

Can you all keep my friend in your prayers? They went through in vitro to get these babies...life's beat them up enough already. I just pray that BAby B will make it.

Thanks,
Kim

hi there all...
i read an interesting article at my chiro/acu doc office... (Rachael, i especially thought of you and asthma) it was in an altermative medicine magazine... it was natural ways to increase your chances of a healthy pregnancy.. there was a section in there on eating omega-3's.. how these are
"dubbed brain food, show that the omega 3's essential fatty acids may prevent preeclampsia, preterm labor, gestational diabetes, increase the nutritional value of breast milk, reduce inflamation throughout the body and prevent depression. Among children od asthmatic mothers, maternal intake of oily fish during pregnancy reduced childhood asthma by 71%."

there was also sections in there on my HBP and supplements to take and things about sore backs and sleep problems... there was also a section on breech babies (if any of us need that later on)

it was very interesting.. i think that i'm going to get a copy... their website is alternativemedicine.com... you can not read the articles, but there are a few things to look at...

other then that...

Kim- i hope that your freinds baby b will be ok.. we'll be thinking and praying for that little baby!!! ps... i tihnk that you are having a boy and girl... just my guess.... hope that you can be active... and goodness.. could you imagine 2 10lb babies?? yeikes... i hope that your GTT comes out ok... they do say that if there are big babies in the family.. you can do a modified diet... not soo much refined sugar... that is what i'm doing now... just don't want a huge baby!!

tasha- hope that the bug is gone for good... we are healthy now, but there are so many things going around... my DS had a play date, and AFTER the time, the mom says that they have had fevers and a cough... GREAT just what we need... i can not beleive some people.. good luck with the moving and stuff..... then you can start the room, and you'll be done before you know it... i made a trip out to babies r us... yeikes they were crazy... my boys wanted to each pick out an outfit for the baby... we were there getting the travelsystem... they were both so cute...

cowgirl- i'mso so so so happy to hear about your friend... that is the only person that i've every heard of having this... it gave me a little bit of releif!! i'll take every little bit that i can!!! Hope that your GTT results were well... too bad about the new doc... i do not remember if you said why you had to more to a different doc... as for the pain, have you checked out going to a chiroprator?? i think that it helps, it does not go away, but there is releif and less intensity.. i went today, and feel a bit better.. sicatica sucks!! the artice said that you can use Tigar Balm or White Flower Analgesic Balm for some releif of back/sciatica pain...

nance-hope that all is well, and you are not working too hard!!

caseyp-hope that your scan comes soon enough!! and hope that you have gotten rid of your cold... it's nasty being and pregnant... i

angellica-hope that you are well...

rachael- hope that you are ok with the GTT.... too bad that there is a strong family history.. i failed the 1 hour with 189, and ended up passing the 3 hour... so there is hope... although they do say that over 200 is really diabetic... so we'll keep our fingers crossed!!!! . i too have almost everyone on my fathers side has type II... so i thought for sure that i would be the 1in 4 to get it.. as that's the chance of gettting it if you have a parent with it... hope that it works out!! as for us having a c-section... we are still up in the air on the whole thing.... another wait and see issue... i really hard the "wait and see".. i'm a planner and like to know what will happen...but i guess that there is really nothing else i can do....

just think girls... we only have a few more months before we get to see our babies... we have come so far!!! hope that everyone takes care !!!!

Just a quick hello,
Hope you all enjoying the weekend.

Ellie- will be praying for your frends. Can't imagine getting that far and having that happen. Pray that they will have one healthy baby.

Phoned my local hospital yesterday about scan. They had no record of me being due a scan, and nothing to say I had even had my 12 weeks scan there! Was a bit upset but they were very effecient and within 30 mins I'd had a phone call to say that my scan is a week tues, so will let them off!

Been shopping for beds today for DD. She has insisted in climbing out her bed the last few mornings, so getting worried she fall out soon! Can't believe how difficult it was to find a children's bed with a slight differnce but not too expensive. Found one online at last. So just need to plaster and decorate her room now!

Sorry no personals but thinking of you all

Hi all,

I have had my family up to visit for the past 5 days and haven't gotten near the computer and now they have left, my M/S has raised its ugly head again. I am feeling crappy and have only skim-read through all I have missed, but wanted to say I will be back when I feel better.

Hi gals...

CaseyP--I'm glad you got your U/S scheduled. Sounds like the folks in charge screwed up! You'll probably have to keep on them for future check ups...

Colleen--That article sounds interesting. I've never been a fish lover, but I've been trying more during the pregnancy. I'm also on a prenatal that also has DHA too. Mine is called DUET DHA. There are actually two pills...the first is the regular prenatal, the other is the fish oil. I'm hoping that helps since I'm not a big seafood lover... Also, I feel your pain about parents sending sick children places--as a teacher, my students are sent to school ALL THE TIME with green goup running out of their noses, fevers, chicken pox, etc. I swear, do some parents even look at their kids in the morning!? I'm amazed they haven't gotten me sick.

[BTW--I am "secretly" hoping for one of each, but I'll take whatever God gives me!]

Tasha--Your nursery idea sounds adorable. I can't wait to see photos. Are you all better now?

OH, no new word on my friend's baby B yet. I'm hoping it can hang on....Thanks for your prayers!

I'm off for now...have a great day!

Hello Girls... just taking a break from cleaning so I thought I'd check in. We got our spare bedroom all moved yesterday (bed & dresser). Now we have to get our celing fan installed in the room.... that will happen in the next 2 weeks. Plus paint & hang border... Also I'm feeling much better so that's good...

Kim- I'm so sorry yo hear about your friends baby... they must be heart broken. I will keep her, her DH & baby B in my thoughts a prayers. Please keep us posted...

Colleen- very interesting article... I'm actually on my prenatal plus Expecta, which is a DHA pill (Omega 3 Fatty Oils). I have read so many great things about this... and I'm hoping in the long run it makes Aubry's brain, eyes, and everything else stronger. Well thanks for the pointers on sciatica pain relief... I think my lovely angel likes to lay on my nerve and cause me pain.

CasyP- I'm glad to hear you got your scan scheduled finally... it will be here before you know it.

I hope the rest of you are doing well and enjoying your weekend...

Tasha

hi there all... we are ok... had a really tough weekend... DH was at work all weekend (computer crisis) and i ended up having a ton of contractions.. nothing that became a "pattern" but they were bad.. then i ended up thowing up all last night... the contractions, for the most part have stopped, and doc said that we are doing ok now.. so i'm just on "take it easy" orders ...

tasha- hope that you got a lot done... and the room is getting ready for aubrey.. glad that you are feeling better.. i'm going to start to make more fish. i've been eating the tuna, i think that i'm going to try and make salmon steaks.. i'm not a big fish eater, except when i'm pregnant... DH really doesn't like much in the fish family, but atleast the kids like it!!

kim- i'm not a big seafood person either, but i do like it better when i'm pregnant...DH doesn't like it, and thinks that it's weord that i'm ok with it while pregnant.. maybe it's my body's way of letting me know that i need more of the omega 3's?? i'm surprised that you have not gotten sick from all the germs kids come to school with... there is not a week that goes by that we do not get a notice how someone in my sons class came to school with strep, pinkeye, flu, ect.. my son hates to stay home from school, he loves it, but if he is sick, he is at home!! i keep telling him that he doesn't want to get his freinds sick, does he?? how is baby b doing?? any news??

em-hope that you are feeling better and can get rid of the ms... hope that you had a nice visit with family!!!

casyp- glad that you finally got your scan date!!! fun shopping for children beds... we had a hard time with my son's it took weeks!! i am a little on the picky side!! then we needed the bedding and decorations and ended costing a fortune... but he's happy... hope that your DD will say in the new bed....

well, everyone else, hope that all is well

Colleen- sorry to hear you had a rough weekend... how close were your contractions? That's scary.... well at least they have stopped for now and your doing better.

Yeah we got a ton done... but we still have a ton more to do. All in due time....

Take Care,
Tasha

the closest that they got were 7-8 minutes..it was 7 minutes, then 15 minutes, then 11 minutes, then 23 minutes.. ect....so no pattern. they think that it was an irritated uterus or something.. something to watch... doc said that we'll have to talk more serious, if it happens again.. hopfully we will not have to do that again!!

Colleen I am sorry you are having such a rough time! I too have had some pretty strong contractions but if I lay down they go away pretty quickly. I know one of the web sites I look at it says BH start to become more frequent now. Just curious how long were you in labor for other children or did you not go through labor? Sorry if you already mentioned but I do still have a rough time keeping everyone straight :-\
The reason why I ask is the BH are a way of preparing our bodies. I had quite a bit of BH but had easy labor and deliveries, so maybe that is why.

Thook you are so motivated. :-) I plan to really get back to working on the nursery next weekend. My hubby flew out this morning and I promised him I would relax the next few days as I had a really busy weekend with horsy stuff!

Kim- I hope your friends baby will be okay! And man it sure would be neat to have one of each :-) I wonder the odds! :-)

Xrayem- I am sorry you are suffering from MS. I can relate! I had it very bad with my first child. This one has been smooth sailing in that dept. :-)

Take care everyone,
Cowgirl

cowgirl- it was weird, because i do get a lot of BHs, but like you if i lay down or change what i'm doing they go away.. this time i had the back ache and they did not go away, and woke me while sleeping... so they were weird... as for labor, i guess that i have quicker labor, not superfast, but for being induced.... my 1st was 12hours start to finish and 2nd was 5hours... so i'm hoping for less then 5 this time... i'm also usually dialated to like 3-4 and 60-70% by week 35-36... so i think that the BH's do help move things along.. and pushing for my was a breeze... hope that it is the same thing this time!!!

take care, and take it easy!!

Good Afternoon!

Colleen - I feel your pain. My little episode a little ways back caused my OB to place me on Brethine to keep me from going early. I had preterm labor with both of the boys, but they had suspected it had to do with the clotting disorder. However, this time the contractions or BH seem to stop if I lay down. My OB told me to take the meds or stay on bedrest. Of course, I chose to take the meds. I hope your uterus calms down a little. Your angel needs to bake more then most!

Tasha - You are amazing. Being the closest due date wise, I am surprised you haven't slow down yet! Hope your room comes out perfect.

Cowgirlclass - Try to take it easy! You are like me and always want to get everything done. I hope your little one is baking nicely.

Kim - I hope you and your little ones are growing nicely. I know what you mean about the sick kids. If mine have any allergies or illnesses I keep them home. My older son hates this because if his asthma starts rearing its ugly head, he is stuck home in front of the humidifier for at least 24 hours. However, I am just that type of mom. I hate to expose others to my kids because they could et sick and more often than not, the boys come home with something else because their systems were already compromised.

Xrayem - I have a grandmother with MS and I know how hard it can be. I hope your episode passes quickly. Good luck!

CasyP - I hope DD is going to love her new room. We are in the process of moving our younger son into a room of his own because our older son has started keeping him up really late and the little one does not wake up nicely.

As for Makayla and I, we are okay. I have been really sick all weekend with allergies. DH refused to let me paint at all and he wouldn't let me outside either. I am starting to feel like I am the BOY IN THE BUBBLE! I hate being confined, but at least they haven't put me on bedrest yet. I think bedrest is the worst thing they could do to me. I would go crazy again! Otherwise, I have stayed busy. I am currently taking another class. I am enjoying that because it is an accounting class so it is really easy. I already do this stuff daily. On top of this, I have been trying really hard to eat loads of raw veggies and fruits so I can pass my test tomorrow. DH laughs at me and tells me I cannot fix it in just a few days. I pray I can because the peach cobbler the boys ate yesterday looked really good smothered in ice cream! Hope everyone stays safe!
