Hoekey- One of my friends passed out 3 different times during her recent pregnancy. They put her on heart monitors and all kinds of tests but could not explain they reason she was fainting. It could be many different reasons. I get light headed sometimes but don't feel faint. I would definitely call the Dr. and tell them about the experience. You wouldn't want this to happen to you while you were driving.

i love that we are all starting to relax into our pregnancies! getting used to food aversions, MS, and kipping (napping) at will!

Saturday night, we had a few friends over and about 20 minutes after we'd finished eating ( it was a late dinner, but seriously!!!) I just got up from the table, said good night, told them to stay and party, and I went to bed!
one couple that dined with us is very close, so they've known since day 1, and the other couple found out because another girlfriend of mine spilled the beans to them - grr i was so angry at her. eventually, i would have told them -so i guess it's not all that bad( i mean i did get to go to bed without any harassment for being a party pooper), just sucks that i asked her specifically NOT to tell anyone- i wouldn't even have told her except that she specifically asked me if i was prego, and i was not prepared to lie to her.-
anyhow- all is well here

Loopie - I hear ya! Dh's mom spilled the beans about our in vitro also and we were not happy about it. We made her call back and swear people to secrecy. We chose not to tell people because we didn't want 500 questions and have to explain if it worked or didn't. Plus DH has an evil ex and we feel it is none of her business (it's a small town) and I didn't want her throwing bad karma my way!
kelly- so gald you had a fun weekend!
21bat - I am still praying for you. We transfered 4 embies and got one healthy heartbeat. There is no guaratees in this game and we felt like we needed to up our chances. We were totally ok with twins. but had we even transfered 3, we might not have gotten our miracle. It is a tough decision.

I had a good weekend, afternoons and evenings were full of nausea, I can still eat and I don't throw up but it is the sensation you just ate something rotten. The weather was nice and I did some yard work and laundry I can't wait to decorate the nursery! But we have to wait since my SD lives part time with us and she doesn't know yet. I was getting a little of the evil eye when I was laying on the couch sick and DH was asking her to help him. Oh well!

rio - Both you and I have an u/s tomorrow. I am so anxious to see my little beanie again! I bet you are excited! Mine is at 3:30, but my doctor is always running late. I will post when I can. Do you know what they expect to see on the second u/s?

loopie- I had to laugh when I read about your dinner party. That is the exact reason I have refused to have anyone over. I just can't keep my eyes open past 8:30.

Kelly - How fun to tell family the news! That has been the best part of it all so far - watching people's faces when I tell them. Especially because of my age, people are really shocked and happy.

Jomae - What tests did your doctor make you take? All is well though, right?

21bat - Good for you to be looking ahead although I hope that the need to will disappear after your u/s on Wednesday. On my last IVF with my own eggs they let me transfer six embies! None took and I moved on to donor eggs. With this last cycle, we transfered two blasts (which are supposed to have a higher rate of implantation) and only one took. You just never know. Have your doctor explain to your husband the odds, etc.. and perhaps he will relax and be more comfortable transferring more.

Hoekey- Your weekend sounds fabulous! Watching ice bergs is something that we in California don't get to do! I am so glad you had such a fun outing with your family. I hope you are feeling better after your episode at dinner. Let us know what your doctor says.

I am still plagued with m/s after each meal and it is so much worse if I nap in the afternoon! I also am getting those dull cramp/pulling sensations but figure it is a reassuring sign that things are growing. However yesterday and today my breasts are far less sensitive than they have been. Still a little sore at the nipple and when I take my bra off, they feel full and achy, but not as bad as they were just a week ago. Do you think this is a problem? Anyone else with diminishing symptoms?

Tammy - thanks for the calendar, funny how baby-gaga, babycenter and this other site all have different measurements for the baby at 8 weeks, while one says 1 inch, the other 0.5 inches. I love them all!

Gecko - I think they are going to measure the baby again to make sure it is growing at the correct rate and check again for the heart beat which I think should be faster. I have an OB appt next week! Wow! I have a lot of m/s at night. My boobs aren't sore at all, just getting a bit fuller.

21bat Did your RE also take your Hcg levels to see if they are still rising or just the u/s? Just curious...

Jan/feb board girls - if you have time stop by our old hang out and show your support for Love and Corny, unfortunately the got BFNs and need all of your baby dust and good wishes for next try!

Re: Sex - I was given the go ahead at my beta!! We have been doing the dirty since then w/o problems - It is not 100% pain free - we have to be creative with positioning so that it isnt too deep cuz that is when it hurts - i think b/c of still swollen ovaries?? No pain afterwards.

Re: M/s comes and goes - but I have become a picky eate! I only want to eat what I want when I want! Dh has been good about making sure I get what I want! We still have not told any one but one friend. We'll prob wait another month. But it is killing me to stay quiet. Dh and I do not talk to his parents - and I think we need to try to repair that relationship, but dh is totally against it. His mom is spreading lies about us b/c after 2 years of them living rent free with us we suggested it was time to move on there own (theya re young and healthy.) Any way dh doesnt want his mom to be able to se ethe baby - and i dont want her in my life but I am not sure that is right. That is a major reason why we arent telling ppl - we dont want word to get around until later.

Ok enough about me...

Geckogirl: My sore bbs went away. They were very sore from 5 1/2 weeks until about 6 weeks and then it just went away. My nurse said it's nothing to worry about and that you can't really go by symptoms.

Loopie (and others): You mentioned that your friend just came out and asked you if you were pregnant. That has become a total pet peeve of mine. Why do people think this is an appropriate question? Especially of women (like me) in their thirties who have good reason not to want everyone to know right off the bat?

When we were TTC (naturally, before fertility treatments) and I was in the 2 week wait I generally tried to abstain from alcohol. Twice when we were out socially w/friends and I was the only one at the table not having alcohol friends straight out asked me if I was pregnant! The first time at least the lady pulled me aside and whispered in my ear. The second time, at a dinner party, when I requested water instead of wine the host (male) announced "oh, are congratulations in order?"

I'm hesitant to go out in social situations until the first trimester is over b/c I don't want to have to lie to people if they ask. A couple of weekends ago I used the "I'm taking medication" excuse and that seemed to work. Still, they'll know I was lying once I tell them.

Anyone else having this problem?

Mia wow you lucky girl! clear for IC after 2WW... I think we still have two more weeks to go for a total of 10 I am the same way, I don't know what I want to eat until it is time to eat. I am not picky about food but now it is an unknown and DH is being great about it. I am sorry about the stress in the family life.

Mellie yep people have asked and I say maybe yes, maybe not. And either say that we are not sure yet cause you never know when you are trying. I was out at dinner with business associates who I don't know very well and my boss (who knows cause of time off for ivf) toasted my pregnancy! When we had just found out and I hdn't even told my close friends and rest of family yet I have been wearing loose clothing too so I can hide my belly better (still swollen).

Hi ladys I just got back from my first OB US. Bean looked good. I am not cleared for IC till 12 weeks. GRRRRR but he said with everything going on and the fluid just wait. WHats 4 more weeks right! j/k. Well I hope you all have a good week and I hope this week flys by w/o yacking. I figure if I get through this week w/o it then ill be one of the lucky ones.

Gecko Good luck for you tomorrow too. What coast are you on?? Hope to hear the detail from yours soon.

Mine is at 4:00 tomorrow. But DH is going out of town for five days on Wednesday so we will be having "date night" right after. So I won't be posting my details until late tomorrow night, if not Wednesday morning. I'm glad that my oldest DD has given me my PIOs before so that she can give them to me and I don't have to try to give them to myself. She gets very excited about it though which makes me a bit nervous. She does not understand this, can you imagine being on the receiving end of an 1 1/2" needle, and there is a 15 year on the other end?? And she wonders why I get anxious !!

Mia I am so jealous that you have already gotten the go ahead for IC. I so hope that I am cleared tomorrow. DH keeps making comments when I am cranky or when he is. He likes to say with a smirk on his face, "You just need to get laid", sorry if that sounds crass, but it's funny when he says it because he just never talks that way. Or when I say that he is cranky he replies, "I think I just need to get laid." Up to this point, and we have been together for five years, he has never called it that, so it's kind of cute coming from him. Does that make any sense?

Mellie Almost everyone we know knows that we are pregnant. When we saw the HB we started telling people and now I think that everyone knows. I can understand why you want to keep it under wraps though. I do think that it is rude when people make comments like that when there is no other reason to do so other than the fact that you decline an alcoholic beverage. Hang in there!!

Sage God luck on your U/S on Monday. I will be praying for you and I hope that you get those twins you want.

Tammy I checked out that website. Man, that is so wierd how different they all are. I am still hoping that I can see a little bit of limbs at my U/S.

Bat How are you doing? Still praying for you every night that Wednesday goes well. Only two more sleeps for you. Hang in there!!

I know I am missing some of you. It seems that even if I post two times a day I can't keep up with everyone. I guess that's a good thing. It means that so many of us are so blessed to be posting here!!!

I had my first high risk OBGYN appt today! I had bloodwork, urine sample, weigh-in (I have gained 2 lbs so far), blood pressure 132/82, general health paperwork, and an ultrasound. We were there for a little over 2 hours. I have more baby pictures and this time we got to hear the baby's heartbeat on doppler and his heartrate is a wonderful 154 bpm!!!! Woohoo!!! All is looking great so far. They informed me that I will be seeing them every 2 weeks until the 28th week and then every week after that. I will be getting the CF test done and the Nuchal test done at 11th or the 13th week appt. Since I am going every 2 weeks ...I am on the odd weeks and may get to find out the gender at the 17th or the 19th week. I am hoping for the 17th week...so we can paint the nursery that weekend ...otherwise we will have to wait a few more weekends after that to paint. LOL Also, they measured me at Oct 19th instead of Oct 20th this time...so closing the gap to my actual due date of Oct 17th. LOL Oh and also the baby measured 9 mm today and 5 days ago she was only 5 mm! Wow! Almost double in size!

Rio, Gecko, and Hoekey: Good Luck tomorrow! Cant wait to hear how it all goes!

Mia: I was cleared for IC too, however, we are still kinda taking it easy. Too scared. LOL

Rio: I cannot believe your boss toasted your pg!!! What was your reaction.

Mellie: Welcome (I dont think I have said that yet.. ) TOns of ppl ask me when they see me not drinking. but I tell them I am on meds for my back. Once I said that I had had too much to drink the night before.. I dont feel bad at all for telling ppl this - When I tell them I am pg I will just tell them we wanted to wait until 12 weeks before we told.
